    • Hey there, adding Edge Animate etc. sounds like a good idea – but as far as we can tell the Edge CC tools don’t work by applying individual updates, but rather by downloading and installing entire new releases…

You’ll find the latest complete versions of all the Edge tools included on our CC free trials page (direct download links).

  1. Hi there, I noticed for a given program there are several updates. For a given program, the updates are often the same size. Is it fine just to download the latest update? Is it a revision on the previous updates, or do I need to download and install them all? Thank you!

    • Hi Sean, that’s a good point to reemphasize – these are cumulative patches, so each update contains all previous updates as well…

In other words, for each product you would only need to apply the latest and most recent update, because all changes (to date) are contained within it.

  2. Hi
I installed Adobe InDesign CC (64-bit) from:
    https://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html

and it works but sometimes crashes when I try to update it to:

Adobe InDesign 9.1 Update for CC (64-bit)
    or
Adobe InDesign 9.2 Update for CC (64-bit)

    I face this error:

    Update Failed
    Updates could not be applied

This patch is not applicable for you. Please check for updates from the Help menu in your product to see a list of latest updates available.
If the problems persist, contact customer support for further assistance.

    • Hello Hammam,

First off, you must have a valid/paid CC membership or subscription for these app updates to work. And before trying to apply any of these patches, make sure to actually install and run the application first (let it fully start up). The program will sign you in (or ask you to sign in with your Adobe ID), which will activate the software. Then reboot your computer, and apply the appropriate update that you downloaded here.

If you’ve already been running the application, then sign out of and then back in to Creative Cloud to refresh the activation state. In other words, sign out of the CC Desktop App manager and log back in again. That will force it to scan your Adobe products (it apparently only scans once a day otherwise).

If you’re still having difficulties after that, then try uninstalling the app(s) entirely via your operating system, downloading and running Adobe’s special CC Cleaner Tool, rebooting your system, and then reinstalling and reactivating the apps per the above instructions.

  3. Hi, there! Just so people know, each update for Illustrator CC also has two versions for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows respectively. Right now, the only version being listed as an universal 32/64-bit installer is in fact a 64-bit update patch and won’t work with the 32-bit base release. Here is the missing link for its 32-bit counterpart (Version 17.1.0):

« direct download link for Illustrator CC »

I haven’t tested the updates for other CC applications except Photoshop which is indeed “universal” as stated. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to do a re-check on the rest of them as the same situation I encountered may apply.

    • Thanks a lot Marv! We have added a separate download for the 32-bit Windows version of Illustrator CC as you noted, in addition to the existing 64-bit installer.

Here’s the breakout for all of the available CC apps on Microsoft Windows:

      64-bit-only:
Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Prelude, SpeedGrade, Flash Professional

      32-bit-only:
Dreamweaver, Muse, Acrobat XI Pro, all Edge tools

      Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions:
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InCopy, Bridge, Lightroom

  4. Dear ProDesignTools,

First of all: very many thanks for releasing all the Adobe CC updates! =) This came at just the right moment.

However, i installed the CC apps by the trial links you provided and tried to upgrade them with the updates here (I just installed x64-versions and checked their versions before trying to install, and€“ they all were basic versions like PS 14.0).

    Unfortunately, this is what happened:

PS: Not a single update could be installed (i took them all and tried to install from lowest version upwards).

AI: Just the first update installed, the second won’t work also.

IN: Not a single update installed (i downloaded the correct x64-versions in this case)

In every case the update failed, i received “update could not be installed because it is an incorrect version.” That is just wrong, as installing a PS update 14.1.0 on an installed PS 14.0 is correct.

However, when i installed the updates for Acrobat XI which i downloaded directly from Adobe, everything works.

Also, besides ID and AI, you do not mention if the updates are x32 or x64 (for example, PS which has a separate version).

So, please tell what i am doing wrong! Of course, Adobe won’t help me out in this case…

Thanks and many greetings from Germany,
    Tim

  5. Yes, no problem at all. You surely have enough to do and i was able to solve the problem already. Thanks anyway! =)

    • Great, thanks for the reply Tim. We have no problems at all with the CC updates, but some visitors are occasionally reporting an “Update Failed – This patch is not applicable for you” message when they apply the download…

So for their benefit, what did you do to get around or solve it? (to try to help the other users)

      Thanks!

  6. Well, I had a problem with my license activation – and after that was solved, the updates installed just fine.

However, speaking of licenses, maybe those users are trying to update trials? Or older versions like CS6?

Anyway, you NEED an active and valid license for CREATIVE CLOUD (a paid subscription) to be able to do “big” updates (PS 14.x.x and such) that bring new features. Minor stuff like Desktop Tools and so on are not affected by this. This is because of Adobe’s new distribution system that does not include “suites” like in the past, but a continuous update “stream.”

Another possibility would be problems with a hacked or pirated copy that was attempted to be activated wrongly or without a valid Creative Cloud subscription.

Hope that helps but when you know this, it is logical in the end.

    Greetings,
    Tim

  7. Oh, and in the case of ANY problems with the license, it will mostly show the “not applicable” message, which is confusing…

But someone may have CC installed and activated in some manner (or a trial) that resolves to a non-CC-subscription license (some kind of “offline-license” or offline activation), which is NOT the same as an active and valid CC subscription, even when valid as in “bought and sold and server-verified.”

Kind of confusing and somehow no one seems to know all about it… Maybe you could ask Adobe and write an article on this fact?

    • Thank you Tim – this information will be helpful for other visitors here. Being longtime partnered with Adobe, we haven’t run into any licensing issues – so have not experienced this. But the details you posted could help our readers who are.

  8. Hey, glad to contribute!

However, if you google something like “adobe cc update not applicable,” you will find massive results with different solutions and maybe not everything is a question of problems with the licensing servers or the licenses. I went through many, many discussions and tracked down my problem over many hours of trial and error. There might be others cases where maybe a simple deletion of the cache or such may help already like in many other cases.

But also the many answers from Adobe are not very helpful as they are often standard stuff like “reinstall your application” which does not help in many instances. Yet that is what customers get out of most big companies. I just can suggest searching the net and look at the cases the people describe and what they tried. Maybe one can do something like an FAQ for your update offer.

One point then should be that for installing major updates like PS/ID/IL 1.x.x and such requires (1) a valid license and (2) a Creative Cloud subscription – in both cases, for automatic AND manual updates as the ones you provide.

And it can be that a license which is valid not especially means that this is what is needed (as i said that i read an offline activation of CC results in another license type than one using the CC subscription). The type of license or license error or status can be checked in the file “amt3.log” under the path “c:\[username]\appdata\local\temp” (on PC). Search for an entry like “SLCoreService: Query license: type = 2, duration = permanent, remaining = permanent”, which means on the one hand that the license is permanent in this example but not necessarily that this is the correct TYPE of activation/license.

The fact in the end seems, that trials and activated applications all have different license types and only a full CC subscription without errors (like in my case) can get major updates. And also, that errors and ways of activation can result in different, valid licenses but only one type is fully updatable. Sadly Adobe is not of any help in this matter. =(

In the case of errors with the activation and uninstallation of the applications for clean re-installing, the folders “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache” and “C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore” should be deleted also (licensing files), to prevent the next activation try from also maybe failing. Also, any other files and registry entries should be deleted manually or by the Adobe Cleaner utility.

It’s hard to explain as i am not completely sure what is the exact matter behind all this, maybe you can find out more about it. I have a RSS subscription to your site and will see when you post something about it. Hopefully this helps you to get started with the matter, and my English (as i am a German) is good enough to explain it clearly enough for you to understand. =)

    Greetings,
    Tim

    • Hi Jonh, the latest releases of Acrobat Pro and Lightroom are definitely included in the Creative Cloud, but up till now we haven’t included updates for them here because technically they aren’t part of the “CC” collection…

We’ll give that idea some thought though, and consider adding those updates to this page. In the meantime, we do have the direct download links to the full installers for both Acrobat XI Pro and Lightroom 5, if that helps.

Finally, you may not have been aware that Adobe itself provides links to the individual updates for those particular programs through their Product Updates Downloads page. However, most of the CC apps are not given there, which is why we created the CC resource here.

      Thanks for your feedback!

  10. Hi, I would like it if you would add some products(latest versions for : ACROBAT, LIGHTROOM, ELEMENTS SERIES, EDGE SERIES, CAPTIVATE)updates here, for some versions to us maybe better than the newest one, we may choose more.

    This website is great.

    Thank you very much!

    • OK – by popular demand we have added some of those to the table above, all of the individual product updates for Acrobat and Lightroom. Thanks for your suggestions.

And here once again are all the direct links for full installers for Acrobat (XI, X, 9) and Lightroom (5, 4, 3).

As mentioned in the article, the Edge series doesn’t release incremental updates but rather full new versions each time. We have not tracked these however you can find the latest version of each Edge tool given on our main CC installer links page.

Captivate and Elements are not part of Creative Cloud, but hopefully you’ll find what you’re looking for here:

      Captivate (8, 7, 6, 5.5, 5)
      Direct links to main installers
      Direct links to product updates

      Photoshop Elements (12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7)
      Direct links to main installers
Direct links to product updates – Windows and Mac OS

      Premiere Elements (12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7)
      Direct links to main installers
Direct links to product updates – Windows and Mac OS

  11. Is it just me or are all files down? Can’t even copy link and download it with some external Download-Tools. And if I click here on the links it directs me to a black page with a white 1×1 gif pixel in the middle…

    • No problems here, works fine… Did you try a different web browser or computer? Are you blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs?

    • Hey Rajesh, not exactly sure what you mean by that… Could you rephrase the question or give a little more detail on what you’re looking for?

BTW, on this page are not the updates for the latest release. For those you would want the newer CC 2014 updates.

  12. Hi. Great site, very handy for people like me, with a data cap at home, and several devices with CC photographer that I need to install the software on.

Will you add the new updates from April 22 soon? Thanks.
