I can’t install flash player (OS X 10.6.8) without being asked to pay for creative cloud. What gives? My daughter’s wedding planning is very curtailed.
Not sure Penny. Of course, the Adobe Flash Player is completely free and you can download it here.
I personally don’t like the idea of cloud computing. Considering all the safety nets we attempt to put in place regarding intellectual property, I am dismayed to learn how difficult Adobe is making it to hold on to a persons own creative work, working on their own computer and not in the ether. What guarantees can you make that my artwork is not being viewed or manipulated by anyone else? Why should I have to have CC to view work from my colleagues when we both have paid for essentially the same adobe products? Your technique reminds me of a particular political structure….dictatorship.
That’s simply not true at all Denise! You seem to be under some all-too-common misconceptions… Please read this:
The 10 Most Common Myths About Adobe’s Creative Cloud (CC)
Put simply, using Adobe CC is not “cloud computing” in the strict sense of the word. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. are desktop apps that run locally on your computer, just like before. You don’t have to upload, share, or store a single file online if you don’t want to! And in fact it’s easier to store your work offline than online.

Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) – CS6 File Format Compatibility Guide
Hey, recently did some upgrades to my rig (graphics cards) and installed a windows driver update only to find that upon a restart my creative cloud applications won’t launch. ex. “adobe _____ was unable to identify the issue” after trying to launch any application. Can’t find anything online about similar issues, and have tried all the basic procedures I can think of (restarts, reinstalls, etc). Any ideas?
Hey Jack, did you google the exact text of the error message? Does your system still meet the official system requirements for the CC programs you’re using, including supported graphics cards? Is your system and software and Adobe applications fully up to date in all other respects?
Hello! This may have been asked already so please forgive me if it has. But I just recently got a new laptop (mac yay!) and I was wondering if I would be able to transfer my photoshop and lightroom onto that new laptop? Would I have to uninstall it on the old one and then reinstall on this one? Or how does that work?
thank you.
Sure Vanessa, if it’s CC (Creative Cloud) then you definitely can… See this guide for more details:
How to Move or Transfer Adobe Software Between Two Systems
Hi, I have a question, I understand that with the individual membership you can download the apps in two different computers. Where I work we have a CC team membership, can I as well install the apps in both my workplace computer and my computer at home?
Thanks
Yes Ines, just like the usage terms with the individual CC subscriptions, you will be able to install and activate the software for each Creative Cloud for Teams license/seat that you buy on up to two computers (e.g., in the office and home/portable), so long as the two copies are not used or run at the same time.
I have had a membership for Creative Cloud for the last year and I am thinking of starting a degree course for BA (Hons) Visual Communications soon and want to know if I can change my account to student as I need all of the software for my studies.
Kind regards
Rita
Yes Rita, normally that’s no problem – you should be able to change your CC account to a Student version, so long as you are now eligible for Adobe’s education discount!
The easiest/fastest thing to do is visit your Manage Account page online and see if you can change the type of your Creative Cloud plan there (click on “Manage plan” to convert, upgrade, or downgrade your subscription).
If that doesn’t work for you or you don’t see the option you need, then just contact Customer Support for further assistance.
Best of luck with your new degree!
I’m looking to get a macbook laptop for work but everyone in the office is PC based. I’m just wondering if I work off a mac how different files will be from opening on different platforms.
Hello Corrie, it shouldn’t be an issue. For the most part Adobe’s project and data files (including for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) are sensibly cross-platform and interchangeable, with a few caveats depending on the application… But generally speaking you should be okay to move your saved files back and forth between different operating systems.
I am thinking about getting a cloud plan for photoshop so I would just be getting the 9$ plan, but I am getting a new computer pretty soon – so if I download photoshop on this computer, soon to be old and tossed, can I download it again on my up and coming new computer?
Yes Emma, you should be able to do that…
First, here are the CC 2015 direct download links to get the installers for Photoshop and Lightroom.

Hi have recently updated operating system from Win 7 to Win 10 I am now unable to update any of my Adobe products via Creative Cloud I just get the message “Unable to reach Adobe servers. please check your firewall settings, and try again in a few minutes.” this happens although I installed the apps with out any problems and I have tried installing the updates with the firewall and antivirus turned off. have contacted Adobe twice and it still isn’t resolved. I am using a Home wireless network on a desktop PC to far away from the Route to connect via a wire and haven’t got another wireless network close. I don’t seem to have any network conflicts or problems. Please Help as this ios driving me insane
Hi Michael, if you’re still having any issues with downloading onto your computer, then we’d suggest trying the direct links instead:

(Further down below on that page are the links for all of the product updates.)
Generally, in terms of compatibility of the new Adobe CC 2015 applications running on Microsoft Windows 10, only minor issues have been encountered:

Hi, I have been using Indesign with Links folders and I cannot see how to use them on Indesign Cloud. Do I now have to copy and share all my links folders onto the Adobe Cloud Library to update and edit links?
If so, I assume I will have two different versions when I start editing my links. I don’t want original artwork in two places as they will soon become different versions of each other (and I would have to remember to update previous files).
Also, how safe are my links on the Cloud?
Hello Mrs. P. – just so we’re clear, the InDesign application itself does not run in the cloud. See Myths #2 and #3 here:
The 10 Most Common Myths About Adobe’s Creative Cloud (CC)
You can store files in the cloud if you like, or sync them between shared libraries, however it’s not required – doing so is completely optional.
You can read more about the security of Adobe’s cloud storage (managed and run by Amazon) here:
How Secure Is the Creative Cloud?
Hi at the moment I am using the Creative Cloud photography plan. Photoshop and Lightroom are the main two applications I use. however, I would like to add Illustrator to my app list. Is there a possible route to do this? I do not require the full list of apps.
Greetings Tom, be aware that the CC Photography Plan is offered at a huge discount, and there is nothing else like it for the money.
So if you need to add Illustrator to your existing membership, then you would need to get a Single-App Subscription for Illustrator (by itself)…

Don’t Need Full Cloud? Subscribe to Any Single CC Tool for $10-20/Month
Hello, can i subscribe for more than 1 year of the annual plan? or i must to renew the membership every year?
Hey Lim, normally it renews automatically for as long as you want to keep it, like your cellphone or Internet service… You don’t even have to think about it, if you want to continue on a regular basis.
However, if you wish to pay upfront for multiple years of Creative Cloud at one time, or wish to lock in or guarantee your final price in advance, then check out this guide:
Adobe CC Prepaid Subscriptions: How to Buy a Year or More in Advance
I just downloaded the PS and Lr onto my new macbook. Why does it run on a trial version?
Im running in an iMac and I have a subscription for 1 year. I downloaded the same apps in my laptop so I can work even when I’m outside the house. Do I have to buy it again? Please help.
Welcome Michelle, no – you don’t have to purchase it again as you are allowed to run CC on two computers.
Make sure that after installing the software on your second system, you log in with your valid Adobe ID under the Help menu > Sign In. That should activate the products for you.
Can I get Lightroom + Photoshop and After Effects all in one plan ?
Hi Khaled, you can do it in two (smaller) plans.
The first is the CC Photography Plan, which includes the latest versions of Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC for $9.99/month.
The second is a Single-App Subscription for After Effects CC, which is $19.99/month.
So the total (quoted in US currency) would be $29.98 a month, with ongoing upgrades included at no extra cost.
Together with that, you’ll also receive additional premium services like Typekit fonts, Market Assets, 20GB online storage, and an Adobe Portfolio website.
When I send out a link from Creative Cloud for my photos to another user, how long does the link remain valid?
Hey Bob, it remains valid as long as your photo or file is stored there!
In other words, it does not expire or become invalid unless you wish it to be.
I recently downloaded and installed a free 30-day Creative Cloud trial. I want to stop it and am unsure how to uninstall. I don’t see my hard drive on my desktop anymore.
If i uninstall will my all old drive reappear?
Not sure what happened to your drive icon Eileen, but the Adobe software definitely didn’t touch that.
To remove any program, just use your operating system’s standard uninstall function either on Windows or Mac OS.
I have 2 different clients with two different creative cloud logins and passwords. How can I toggle between the two accounts on my MacBook Pro laptop?
Hello Kate, you should just be able to sign out and then sign back in again with the other account… See here for more details:

Hope that helps!
if i download creative cloud, do i need to be connected to the internet the whole time i use it?
No, not at all Esther – that is an all-too-common misconception! Please see:
The 10 Most Common Myths About Adobe’s Creative Cloud (CC)
I just installed Creative Cloud, one of the reasons I did so was that I heard that I could create a Portfolio site. I cannot see how to do that, however.
No problem Harv, see:
Showcase Your Creative Projects! How to Create an Adobe Portfolio Site
Note that Adobe Portfolio is included in all Creative Cloud plans, even the least expensive CC Photography Plan with Photoshop & Lightroom.
I have a Creative Cloud subscription. I updated the Adobe Premiere Pro application. It now says “start trial” on the button. Clicking this says I started my 7-day trial and wants me to Buy Now. Why do I have to buy now if it is already part of the subscription I purchased?
@Bill Morris
UPDATE: Was just a hang up. Adobe InDesign was stuck on updating at 99% forever. After it finished, it somehow fixed the Premiere problem.
Great Bill, glad to hear it worked out – and thanks for circling back here to let us know!
I am considering Creative Cloud for Teams for my company. I’ve been researching for weeks now and can not find the solution to having 3 seats with just 1 app and 1 seat with 2 or 3 apps. do I have to purchase the ALL Apps for the 1 seat or is there another option. If there is another option could you tell me how much I would be looking at for the 1 seat with 2 or 3 apps? Also, what is my benefit to have all four on a team, instead of 3 on a single app and 1 on multi-app? I appreciate the time.
Greetings Kandis, once you sign up for CC for Teams, then you can add & use whatever licenses you need – whether for a Single-App on a user’s desktop, or for All Apps, or for both choices in mixed use for your group. After purchase they are available in your license pool, and you can also easily reassign them between your users at any time.

Note that once everyone is set up with whatever applications they need, your team can work together using the collaboration features of the software.
Why do my files go off line having saved them to an empty new external hard drive?
They are not moved.
All is well when saved. Then when I open them, they are all offline?
Not sure Michael. Which product and version are you referring to? Although, it sounds more like something with your system or drive configuration than with any Adobe tool, as the software simply depends on the underlying file/operating system for those services and behaviors.
My office is currently running CC, but we have it for illustrator. We no longer have a need for it. Can we change the software to photoshop? I am not sure if we are under contract or not.
Hey Enrique, can’t guarantee it but Adobe can probably do that for you… In order to effect the change, first see if you can do it yourself using your Manage Account page:

If that doesn’t offer you the option that you want, then you’d have to contact Adobe Customer Support directly about your request. Via their live online chat is usually the fastest/easiest:
