The Adobe CS6 Extra Content downloads aren’t functional after you’ve downloaded them. Specifically, the InDesign CS6 one (the only one I tried).
The .dmg file downloads successfully (safari reports it at 237.4 MB), but the Goodies > Fonts folder are filled with aliases. There’s no installer on the download. All you can do (try and do) is drag and drop folders from there to the hard drive.
I suspect that the main install disks had something configured internally that would “release” the full files, not just the aliases.
While attempting this repeatedly,
Hmm, that’s very odd – the CS6 Extra Content downloads have been posted up above for well over 3 years and no one else has ever reported any problems… These are very large files (130 MB on Windows and 226 MB on Mac) – so they should contain actual content and not just aliases.
As a test, we just downloaded the InDesign CS6 Functional Content using the direct link above and it came down intact and worked fine on Windows. All 122 fonts were able to be [re-]installed.
However, when testing it for Mac, the entire large file downloaded correctly but something was strange with the internal structure… Most of the fonts were of trivial size as you noticed, except for the Danish (Dansk) language folder which was inexplicably huge. We suspect the Mac file on Adobe’s servers may have gotten borked somehow.
Not sure how or why that happened, or if this is a permanent situation, but for now try the Illustrator CS6 Additional Content instead… It actually contains the same 122 fonts, and from our checks it appears that the Mac version of that file is still fully correct.
Some people did question me about the license which applies to additional stuff (like fonts). I always supposed one can use these fonts under the same CS/CC license – so a trial user shouldn’t keep using fonts after the trial period. But the text above refers the additional stuff as free. Which is the license one must take into account to these fonts?
Good question Igor, and there is no license check or licensing information included within the Extra Content itself – so we suspect you should be OK using it on an ongoing basis, but go with whatever you think best or feel comfortable with!
@ProDesignTools
Pro,
Thanks for this. You should hit Adobe up for payment. You are better at providing answers than going to their support site!
–Steven
Thank you Steven, that’s very kind – and it’s comments like yours that help keep us going and make it worthwhile!
@JohnnyC
hi johnny plz send me that cs6 mastercollection link.
In cs6 photoshop 3d is there on top
Hey Sudha, he’s talking about the links right here on this page.
Downloads are not working. When I try to download a file it takes me to a blank page. I have already logged into my adobe account
Hi Michael, are you carefully following the important download instructions before you click any of the links above?
That’s required by Adobe’s servers, and if you don’t do it then the CS6 direct links won’t work. If you still have any difficulties, then try a different web browser, another computer, or Internet connection.
Also, make sure you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs – or running blocking utilities like Ghostery, AdBlock, or Disconnect. Adobe recommends temporarily turning those things off (including antivirus, firewalls, etc. – it’s the first step in those directions above). Some third-party download managers or other utilities may also interfere with the process.
If you’re still stuck, check out this list of download tips we put together to help.
Then to complete the installation, you must have Administrator privileges on your computer, plus your security software must allow you to install programs.
@ProDesignTools
Thank you ProDesign. I discovered the fonts in the Dansk folder and was able to get them.
Terrific, glad it worked out and thanks for letting us know!
Photoshop CS6 now starts crashing at start-up.
It seems that i need to perform a fresh install.
Do i need to remove whole package or just a PS?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Dejan
Hello Dejan, you could just follow these steps:
1. Remove the program using your operating system’s uninstall command.
2. Download and run the Adobe Cleaner Tool, specifying the same program.
3. Reboot your computer and then reinstall the product from scratch.
Hope that helps!
sorry I’m confused.. but are these downloads all trials? will they still work after 30 days of use?
Yes, they start off as free trials, until you purchase CS6. Or you can get Creative Cloud 2015, which can run CS6 instead via subscription (if desired).
All Adobe free trials run for 30+ days gratis.
I have Photoshop CS5 Student edition. I would like to upgrade to Photoshop CS6. I have seen on your web site references to people receiving emails for free updates to PS C6 back in 2012 but I never received any however I would like to upgrade now.
I have tried signing in on your site for the upgrade but seem to keep getting an error which tells me I can’t reach the relevant page.
Can you first confirm is it possible to still get PS C6 as an upgrade as I don’t really want CC2015 right now, and secondly what is the actual cost of the upgrade?
Thanks
Lewis
Hi Lewis, yes – you can still buy CS6 direct (either full or upgrade) from Adobe, including the CS6 education editions.
The cost of an upgrade from Photoshop CS5 (from either the Student version or regular) to the full Photoshop CS6 Standard is US$199.
If you want the Photoshop CS6 Extended edition instead (see the difference in features), then the cost is $399.
Hope that helps!
hi. it says access denied. fix the links please
Greetings, all the CS6 direct links here work just fine… Please see our reply above to Michael for the likely explanation why the links aren’t working for you.
Thank you!! it worked!!! can i copy the dmg file on hard drive and install it on my friend’s computer? or he has to follow the instructions as well??
Great, glad to hear it. These are the original/authentic offline installers for Adobe CS6, so after downloading the file(s) you can then install them on any computer.
The link for the Adobe Edge Animate application nor the Adobe CS6 products do not work
Yes Osirus, all the CS6 direct links here do definitely work. Please see our reply above to Michael for the likely explanation why the links aren’t working for you.
when I just tried to download from one of the links, it told me the file archive of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is missing, and that I need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
where do I download all parts?
They’re all here, Jake, in the table above. On Windows, you need to download both File 1 and File 2 and put them in the same folder… Then run or double-click File 1 to begin the process.
THANKS PRODESIGN, i downloaded cs6 master collection.
thanks a lot. I Want one more thing, that is “LIGHT EFFECT”. plzzz send me light effect link pro.
once again thank you for offering links to cs6 master suite.
Sure, but not sure exactly what you mean as there is no Adobe product named Light Effect.
Hello,
i tried to download InDesign CS6 Western Europe (different Browsers, different PCs) and it is not working:
“Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/IDSN/8/win32/InDesign_8_LS4.exe” on this server.
Reference #18.644a9f3e.1444379043.1109ad4″
Maybe that’s caused by the MAX?
Hello Klaas, the links here all still work and there is no problem from MAX.
Please see our reply above to Michael for the likely explanation why the links aren’t working for you.
Hello, I got adobe after effects cs6 from your links, but the program doesnt want to install to my computer, the download does not go past 2%. I have the same problem with Creative Cloud, the download stops at 43%. Can you please help me?
Well, everything’s fine here and checks out perfectly on our end. Have you tried with a different web browser, another computer, or faster/stronger Internet connection? Use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi, if possible.
Thanks for this! This has proven to be very useful to me.
Now if only you could increase my download speed so I don’t have to wait 3 hours for it to download. :P
Hello,
Nice site!
I think for the purchasing links on this page, that the words in brackets point to have gone Tango Uniform? :
“Whether you’re considering [buying a full version] or will be [upgrading] from a prior CS release,”
Brad
Hi Brad, you’re right about that. As of the start of October 2015, Adobe finally removed the online sale of CS6 from their website… The reason is because the software is 3½ years old and increasingly unsupported; they stopped releasing updates for it some time ago as the newer CC quickly grew and took over. Sorry about that!
@ProDesignTools
OK, so does this also mean that when the trial of CS6 expires, that it will not be possible to purchase a license for it online?
Brad
Yes, that is correct.
Considering that CS6 is several years old now and thousands of features behind CC 2015, Adobe is switching everything to Creative Cloud… See:
What’s the Difference Between Adobe CC 2015 vs. CS6, CS5, CS4, CS3?
This works. Thanks!
@ProDesignTools
Thanks for your help, but I have determined that subscription-based software is not my cup of tea, it’s like paying another burdensome tax ;)
Happy travels!
Brad
Sure Brad, glad to help – but the alternative used to be having to pay many hundreds or even thousands of dollars upfront for the software, just to get in the door… In studies, Adobe found that the new model was far more affordable for many people, and the usage of their products has expanded greatly.
But either way, it’s not free and not a tax – unless you were expecting them to give it to you for nothing.
Hi, I’m getting access denied over and over. I’ve looked at the list of tips and every time I try to download I follow the instructions carefully.
I did download Indesign successfully but need photoshop/illustrator
I’ve tried changing from my mac to laptop but still doesn’t work.
I’ve also tried different browsers on my mac and my laptop, nothing.
Tried to clear all cache in chrome on my laptop, nothing.
The only option I have is to wait a couple of days…. but… I need these asap…
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for still replying to people on here.
Hey there Snir, the links here continue to work on our end. Make sure you’re also carefully following the important instructions given in the article, which are required by Adobe’s servers. Otherwise you will surely get that message.
Check out these download tips if you’re having any further difficulties.
This page appears to be totally non-functional for me.
All I am trying to do is download the updates to my paid version of CS6, which I shouldn’t have to do anyway. But the Creative Cloud updater isn’t working, and here I am.
The page “information” is half wrong, or inappropriate for what I am trying to do.
When I follow the instructions, I get a download file that can’t be run on my windows box, because it’s in some proprietary format the windows doesn’t recognize.
This entire area of the site is a usability nightmare.
My only solution is to sit on the phone with the ‘support’ guys. And this is for software I already paid for.
Adobe is having a competition with Microsoft to see who can make the most unusable web pages. Adobe appears to be winning.
Not sure exactly what issues you’re having David, but the installers on this page are for the base products. In other words, for the software it sounds like you already have on your system.
If you just want the CS6 updates instead, then you’ll find them available for download here.
I am a mac user and every link that I click says that I do not have permission. Any suggestions or mirrored download links?
Hello Tyler, please see a couple of comments above yours for the answer – thanks.
@ProDesignTools
Thanks for the links…and I found what I needed.
I was obviously on the wrong page–and that’s the problem: I was directed to that page from your own help page on how to do updates to existing products. So this means:
–it would be really nice to fix the page that mis-directs people
–it would be really nice to have a big item on the page here that says “if you’re already an Adobe customer trying to get an update, go here (link to update page).
Somebody somewhere in your management change needs to hear this: do some usability testing on your site, and devote the resources to not wasting your customers’ time.
Thanks for listening.
Glad you got what you needed David, but we can’t control what you may have found on other sites (including Adobe’s site).
As for this page, we will add that if you need the product updates rather than the application installers, then you’ll find them at Adobe’s site instead (as we mentioned).
But after six years of maintaining this site to help Adobe’s customers, we can tell you that no matter what you write, many times people just won’t read or see it anyway… Plenty of the comments here are answered just by reading the content of the post above. That’s just the way it is.
Hello,
can I get the sha1 or md5 cheksums for western europe Illustrator and Photoshop?
Because I think my files got corrupted while downloading.
thank you
No, we don’t have those – sorry Leon!
