  1. I attempted to run the Setup.exe file within DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.7z; it hung at about 11% with the request to load a disk. I then noticed a series of codes, but I didn’t copy them down. I cannot run Setup.exe as Administrator–that option is not available when I right-click the file. Any suggestions?

    Reply
    • Well you absolutely need to be Administrator to install these programs, so if the option was not available then it may be that you do not have permission or privileges to do that… But it’s something that you would need to be able to do in order to successfully install the software. If your office has a system administrator person we would suggest consulting with him or her.

On the whole, people have very little trouble with these downloads, so hopefully you can get it going. If not, here is a helpful list of download suggestions.

    • Unfortunately without an exact message of the issue you’re running into, we aren’t able to assist any further… We strongly recommend using an Internet connection other than cell service (as you said) to download these large files. Once you get them down, then it should be a simple matter of storing them both in the same folder on your main disk and running the .exe (on Windows) or .dmg (on Mac) file, and installing on the same hard drive.

  2. 1. Right-clicking the exe file does not offer “Run as Administrator”

    2. Attempting to install without this results in the following errors:

    * Please insert Disk AdobeDesignPremium5-English to continue.

    * (After cancelling install) Exit code: 24/Please see specific errors and warnings below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR: DW001, DW049 …/WARNING: DF029, DF035…/—Summary—/- 0 fatal error(s), 63 error(s), 2 warning(s)/Contact Customer Support (= link) for further assistance.

When we click the Contact Support link, we get this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-serial-number-qualifying-product.html

    • Thanks for posting the details and exact messages. Are both downloaded files together in a folder on your local C:\ drive (not a USB memory key or flash drive or removable disk), and is that also the same drive where you’re installing the software to?

  3. No. IDM downloaded the …7z file to Downloads/ZIP+, and the …exe file to Downloads. The software will go to a file in our Programs folder.

  4. We now have the folder DesignPremium_CS5_LS1 (a ZIP file) and DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.exe in the same folder, Desktop/CS5-Dnlds. WIll that do it?

    Reply
  5. Even after moving the files, we get the same error when running Setup.exe (in folder DesignPremium_CS5_LS1).

I will uninstall CS5 via Control Panel, run the Cleaner, and try one more time.

  6. The install failed again with the same error. I will uninstall via Control Panel, run the Cleaner, restart my PC, and attempt to install CS5 without running anything else.

    • When you say “the same error,” do you mean it asks you to insert a disk?

Provided you have successfully and completely downloaded both files for Windows (the .exe and .7z) for the product trial you want, and have both files in the same folder on your C: drive, that shouldn’t happen.

  7. The *.7z file never runs–it says, “We’ve encountered the following issues://installer failed to initialize. File not found. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.” We have tried several times, including yesterday, to (re-)download the Advisor, and it never runs. (See prior posts.) ???

    • Nicole, here are the guidelines for getting it to work:

      1. These files are large, download them using a fast and reliable connection only.

      2. Use a good browser like Chrome, Firefox, or your own download manager.

      3. Carefully follow the download instructions given in the article.

      4. On Windows, make sure both File 1 (.exe) and File 2 (.7z) are in the same place, if there are two files. If your two files don’t have those extensions, then rename them back.

      5. Make sure it’s a simple folder on your C: drive, not a long or complicated path.

      6. Run (double-click) the .exe file (or .dmg on Mac) to extract the contents.

      7. That will create a new Adobe folder, typically on your Desktop.

      8. Go to that directory, where there should be ReadMe and Setup.exe files.

      9. Just run the Setup file there and that will install the software onto your system.

      10. If any problems, see this list of download tips.

These steps have worked for 99% of the visitors to this site over the past 3+ years. Good luck!

  8. Details: After (re-)downloading DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.7z and ….exe, we get the following error on opening …7z’s Set-up.exe: “We’ve encountered the following issues://Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.” Then, when we download and attempt to run the Advisor (from the link in the first error message), we get this: “Sorry, an error has occurred.//This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance.”

    • As mentioned above, these downloads work and install perfectly fine for us and 99% of our visitors here… We’ve never seen someone have the kind of issues you are reporting. Simply put, there is something crossed up or bizarre with your connection, your Windows user account, or your computer configuration generally. Obviously it’s not your fault, but the fact that your machine won’t let you run the executable as Administrator is a tipoff to a problem.

Standard procedure when you want to fix or isolate a problem is to try different things with different setups, not just do the same thing over again. So really, what you need to do if you want the process to work is try it on a different system and/or Internet connection… Or at the very least, create a new Windows user account with admin privileges and then (download and) install the program from this new account.

We’re virtually certain that if you follow the instructions on a different computer then you’ll have no difficulties at all, because that’s the way it works for most everyone else.

  9. Thanks–the new Admin account worked. You saved us a lot of time and money on (unnecessary) PC repair!

Do you happen to know how we can repair the original admin account? We don’t want to have to add permission for every single thing to this second account–we have a lot of stuff on our PC.

    Reply
  10. When we ran the second downloaded file, we got a message that there was a problem with some files, either with folder permissions or available space. There should be no issues with either. ??? This happened when we ran the file on both administrator accounts–no difference with either the original or the second account.

  11. I have carefully followed the above instructions and have read the comments posted. I tried everything, but I keep getting (when trying to download Illustrator CS5 on a new MBP Retina/10.8.2):

    “Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/ILST/15/osx10/Illustrator_15_LS1.dmg” on this server.
    Reference #18.47f64317.1353172125.86b8d9b”

This is very confusing and I keep getting the run around with Adobe TS. Do I really need to go out a buy a super drive just to install the app from the DVD? I would really appreciate it if someone has a clue as to what’s going and how I can fix this issue, thanks.

    Can you help me? I can’t download… :(

  13. @ ProDesignTools

The message is the one indicated, “A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter where we try to write to, and we are using CS5 Design Premium and Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, not the situation in either of the referred-to posts.

The desktop folder Adobe CS5 Design Premium contains the folder Adobe CS5 and Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Read Me.pdf. Adobe CS5 contains these folders: deploy, packages, payloads, and resources, plus the file Set-up.exe. Is this desktop folder the same as the one the *.7z file created in a folder on my desktop before? It looks like it is.

    • Hello again Nicole, truthfully you really just should try all this with a better Internet connection and on a different computer… We’ve never had any reader have so many issues with a system or setup. These direct download links are provided as a convenience to our readers, and we simply are not equipped for heavy duty technical support for problematic installations. Sorry, but it’s not for a lack of trying here.

See this thread for additional help, and if you have further questions, please ask them there (at Adobe) – thanks and good luck!

  14. Let me go back to the beginning for a second.

We downloaded the DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.7z and ….exe files.

When we ran Set-up.exe from the ….7z folder as Administrator, it installed fine. The result was the folder Adobe CS5 Design Premium, which appears in the same location as ….7z and ….exe.

When we try to run the ….exe file, it gives us the error message I just posted. However, despite that message, it appears to have installed the folder Adobe CS5 and the file Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Read Me.pdf–the PDF is apparently corrupted, and the Set-up.exe file in Adobe CS5 gives the same message the ….7z file gave us initially.

Since the CS5 programs all appear to have installed correctly via the ….7z file, what exactly is the ….exe file supposed to have provided? (I don’t see anything missing.)

    Reply
    • As replied above, you run File 1 (the .exe executable) to extract File 2 (the zipped .7z) to a new Adobe folder on your Desktop… Then you go to that new folder on your Desktop, and run the Setup.exe file there to perform the installation of the program to your computer.

    • Sorry Nicole, it’s actually the other way around. Please carefully double-check the links table in the article above.

Regrettably we cannot help you any further on this… please see our 18(!) previous replies and start over from the top – and/or read the discussion at the Adobe Forums linked a few comments back.

  15. Hello, I’m downloading the Master Collection. In the table above it says that the size is 4.5 GB. But when I started the download it shows that the size of the file is 9.47 GB. Any idea about this big difference?

    Sorry for my English.

    Reply
    • Yes Guillermo, and in fact you sort of answered your own question… The sizes given above are actually for the English versions of the software. The Western European language downloads (non-English) are quite a bit larger because of all the different languages supported for the program installation.

  16. Hi,

I am trying to download the full product software for CS5 Design standard, when i click on the files to download i get this message:

    Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/DSGN/CS5/win32/DesignStandard_CS5_LS1.exe” on this server.
    Reference #18.46be9453.1353412907.b3a023e

Any ideas? I need to download this asap!
    Thanks
