The links only download html files. These files do not work when opened
All of the old CS5 links here still work, but you first need to carefully follow the important download instructions given in the article above… This is required by Adobe, and the direct links won’t work without them.
Then if there are any problems, try a different browser (not IE), another computer, or Internet connection – each time following those step-by-step directions.
Also, make sure you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs – or running utilities like Ghostery, AdBlock, or Disconnect. Adobe recommends turning those things off temporarily.
Finally, if you’re really stuck, we also put together a list of download tips.
I am trying to download Photoshop CS5 extended, but cannot find this on your website. When I click on the file I get an error that I do not have access to your server. I am using Firefox and I have also tried IE 11.0. Neither of these work. I have an active Adobe account but no luck there either. Please help.
Hi Vicki, please see our previous reply, just above your comment.
I had an Adobe CS5 Extended program for a Mac OX 10.6.8,that stopped working two weeks ago. I received messages that some of the applications are missing. When I purchased the CS5 Extended program from Adobe back in April 2014, they did not send me a disk or give me an electronic download link. They downloaded the program directly onto my computer and gave me a message box that if I had a problem, click the OK button to automatically fix the problem. I did not receive that question box two weeks ago and I need this program for my business. I do have my program serial number, but it is not listed on my Adobe account.
If I download your trial version, how much will it cost to purchase the CS5 Extended program after the 30-day trial? Will I own it outright or will I be paying a monthly fee from now on?
Sorry Mary, Creative Suite is end-of-life and not available for sale:
Update: You Can No Longer Buy CS6 from Adobe – Here’s Why
And Adobe stopped selling CS5 even earlier, in 2012 – so you could not have purchased it from them in 2014… There must be some other history there.
But if you do have a valid purchased serial number, then that may work to activate the trial versions downloaded from here.
Mary,
I recently finished reinstalling my CS5 with a download from this site. I ran into an unusual issue, but thanks to the good people here reminding me that google is my friend, I found the odd-seeming suggestion that I locate the install file inside one of the folders inside the contents of the download, and then drag that to an open Terminal window.
That seemed odd since Terminal is a text command based UI, but I did as suggested and the apps I had removed to save disk space are now installed.
If you run into any hitches, remember that google can help. :)
Great, glad to hear that Michael – and thanks for sharing your experience here to help others!
I’m looking for Adobe Acrobat v9.3 specifically. That includes Hebrew and more.
Can someone help me?
Hello Etr, see if this helps at all:
Direct Download Links for Adobe Acrobat X & 9 Pro, Reader, and Suite
I followed the instructions, but cslive refuses to authenticate, just says “Could not start your Adobe CS Live Subscription at this time, try again later”. PS CS5 runs, and when I installed it asked for that information and my key and appeared to work. Just doesn’t seem to work now, I can use the program, but will it disable itself later if I can’t get it to login properly?
CS Live was an Adobe service that was actually discontinued long ago… See this Help Forums post for more details.
I’m having the same issues that Jackie was having (in the comments above). I have been trying to download both CS5 and CS6, and neither are working. My security settings are already set to allow downloads from “app store and unidentified developers,” however when I try and do the install on this (CS5) it says “you should eject the disk image” but there is no disk, as my macbook does not have a disc drive at all.
And when I try to install CS6, the Adobe Installer says that there is a missing file, but I’ve followed the directions meticulously. Is there any way around this?
For CS5, we’d recommend trying the solution given here:
Solved: “‘Install’ is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.”
For CS6, see if one of the suggestions given on this Forums thread helps solve your problem:
Adobe CS6 Installer Fails to Initialize – How to Fix?
Hope that helps.
Here’s an important update for you on the availability of CS direct download links:
Adobe Limits Software Version Downloads, Including Some Direct Links
I’ve tried following the steps, but all the links now just go to the Creative Cloud install page. :(
I’m looking to download Photoshop CS5 or 5.5 as a trial. Is there anywhere else that is hosting a legitimate copy still?
No, sorry Rob – please see the major news linked in our previous reply above.
@WP
Yes, I’m getting the same issue even when I follow the instructions. It’s now 2019 so I’m guessing they blocked it or took it down.
@Rick
Never mind, just read the article. ~sigh~
Hi. I would like to download CS5 but your link “Click «HERE» to visit this page first” takes you to the page “Download Adobe Premiere Elements | 2019, 2018”. How do I know which version to download. Also, I have an iMac (early 2009) and it does not meet the system requirements for Premiere Elements. Is there anything else I could do? Thanks for your help!
PS: Just a clarification on my previous question: My iMac (early 2009) doesn’t meet the system requirements for Adobe Premiere Elements | 2019, 2018, but it does for Photoshop CS5 and CS6.
Hey Alec, following those instructions (first) is essential in order for the direct links to work… That process sets a session cookie on your browser that is required by Adobe’s download servers; otherwise you will get “access denied” instead when clicking on the links.
However, as noted in the comments above, you need to read this important update on the availability of CS direct download links:
Adobe Limits Software Version Downloads, Including Some Direct Links
In other words, the older releases are end-of-life, no longer made or sold, and many of the direct links are not available at all. Sorry!
Ok, I read the links you enclosed and, from what I understood, I guess it’s pointless to try and download CS5 since the older releases are no longer available at all, is that right? In any event, Thanks for the reply which was very thorough.
Yep, you got it. CS5 came out in 2010. This is no longer sold or supported software.
All the links redirect to CC downloads. My mom wants to install Photoshop on her computer.
Adobe stopped selling Creative Suite standalone on their website several years ago… The reason is because CS5 is almost 10 years old now (from spring 2010) and unsupported; they stopped releasing updates for it long ago as the newer CC rapidly grew and took over.
With the CS6 software EOL and end of support, there are no updates, no bug fixes, and no guarantees it will run on the latest or future operating systems. So it’s not really a good or viable option going forward.
So really the only path forward for Adobe is CC, which are considered better tools anyway, because Creative Cloud subscribers can choose either or both versions.
With Creative Cloud, all ongoing upgrades, compatibility updates and product additions are always included – so becoming obsolete will never happen. The monthly payments are also more budget-friendly in the new model than in the old CS model – where the software used to cost many hundreds or often thousands of dollars upfront, and never evolved.
So if you want Photoshop as you said, then the current cost per month for the CC Photography plan should be around $10, with ongoing upgrades included. Compared to the old days (before subscriptions), Photoshop CS used to cost $699-$999 upfront for a static copy.
I didn’t ask for a CC advertisement, I asked for CS5 downloads.
Actually, you didn’t ask or give much detail – so we could only guess, and explain why CS5 now redirected to CC.
We already have Master Collection CS5 and I have Photoshop installed on my computer so we have the product key, we just need the download.
That was not clear from your first comment. See this important update on the overall availability of CC + CS direct download links:
Adobe Limits Software Version Downloads, Including Some Direct Links
That link only mentions CC… I do not care about upgrading to CC, I want downloads to CS5, do NOT make me repeat myself about this again.
I do not care what Adobe says and I find it appalling that they would call legitimate use of software that has already been purchased “unauthorized”. My mom paid a lot of money for this software, we should be allowed to continue using it in perpetuity. I’m pretty sure this is a violation of contract law.
Actually, that article definitely mentions Creative Suite and perpetual CS licenses, which is why we shared it with you… So you might want to read it a little more closely.

@ProDesignTools
Thanks, it works only after reading the instructions and following them.
Hey, I’m having trouble with my serial key on a mac, does anyone know what serial key works with master collection CS5?
No, sorry.
You Can No Longer Buy Creative Suite from Adobe – Here’s Why
Where can I download the LAS language?
Do you mean Spanish? It would be under the Western European column above.
Just downloaded CS5 design standard (I have the serial number), but came up with this error when opening:
“Install” needs to be updated.”
The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.
Currently on Mac Os Catalina
Any advice please?
Sorry, Creative Suite applications like CS4, CS5, or CS6 will not work at all on Catalina, or any newer release of macOS:
Do My Adobe Apps Work on macOS Catalina (Version 10.15)?
This is because of major changes that Apple made to remove support for older apps in macOS version 10.15 and later. Consequently, only the newest Creative Cloud release will run.
Hey, i downloaded how i am supposed to but whenever i run the setup, it tells me there’s an update pending and then after i ignore it, just initializes the installer but doesn’t actually download anything
What operating system and version are you running? Are you sure that it’s fully updated?
Please reboot your computer to make sure any pending updates are installed, before proceeding with the CS5 installation.
Lastly, what is the exact text of the error message, and have you tried googling that? Often that will turn up a solution.
do you have indesign version 7.0.4?
What you see above are the direct download links we have. Adobe removed the direct download links to all updates from their servers, but you may still be able to get product updates from within the app by selecting Updates on the Help menu.
