  1. Why are there no LS4 (Western European) Files for CS5 Production Premium (Windows OS)… They are the same as the English files (trial downloads)?

    Thank You

    Reply
    • Yes indeed Sal, that’s absolutely correct – the LS7 (Language Set 7’s) bundle in all available languages for those products, and so are larger and include the European versions within…

As for why Adobe does different products this way, even within the same CS family, we’ve never heard it explained – but that’s the way it is.

  2. Adobe now requires you to use their Download Assistant software for their trials.
When using your method, it downloads a few kb of data before failing.

    • Thanks for your comment – but no, that’s not correct… The direct links posted here work fine to download the CS5 (or CS5.5) trials without the Adobe Download Assistant (or Akamai Download Manager), when following the instructions above carefully. Hundreds of people do this every day, for the occasions when Adobe’s DLM doesn’t work, or folks want to use their own. We test these links regularly (and again just now), and nothing has changed.

  3. it says it will take 3/4 hours to download this? is this correct or did I do something wrong?

and is this the trial version or the full version? you probably were already asked this 50 times but I thought I’d ask the 51st time.:)

    • Hello tlore, these are all links to the official Adobe CS5 trials… you can of course get the more recent and current CS5.5 trials instead if you like.

Your download time doesn’t sound outlandish, depending on which product you chose – check the file sizes, some are quite large!

  4. Thank you so much for posting these links! I have my serial code for Design Premium CS5, but have lost the disc. This is super helpful! Thank you :)

I’m pretty sure I understand, but just to clarify — these are the full versions, but you can use them as a trial as per Adobe usual?

    • Glad it’s going to help! And actually it’s the other way around – these are all the free trial versions (work for 30 calendar days), that will convert to full and permanent with your purchased serial number.

    • Welcome Danny – all the files here should work so try a different Internet connection if you can (no Wi-Fi), and/or a different computer and browser…

Or give a shot with the direct links for the CS5.5 trials, and see if you fare any better with those (more recent).

  5. yeah i have tried off-line, no luck with that… what software would you recommend me opening the ‘MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.7z’ file with?

    Reply
    • Danny, the .7z is the second file of a two-file set. The first one is a .exe. Download both per the instructions above, and then run the .exe. That will extract and install the program.

(If you don’t see the .exe extension, it means you are probably using Internet Explorer to download the files, which as mentioned in the article has a tendency to drop the extensions. You can simply rename the shortened file by adding the “.exe” back to the end of the filename, then running the program.)

  7. How come I can’t download the Design Premium? I am in South Africa, working on my USA Mac. I had the full version and my computer was smashed on the flight over, now I need to download it and use my serial number, but Adobe only has 5.5 to download. Can anyone help me with this?

    • Sorry to hear about your computer Andrea – what exact problem are you having in downloading the CS5 software from this page? Have you followed the step-by-step instructions in the article?

  8. Access Denied

You don’t have permission to access “…/DRWV/11/win32/Dreamweaver_11_LS1.exe?” on this server.

  9. Is there anyone here who uses a DD-WRT router with Optware installed? I’d like to be able to hand off these downloads to my router having a USB memory stick and not have to leave my PC running for an entire day just for the sake of these large downloads.

From what I’ve been able to surmise, I need to use curl, see http://curl.haxx.se/docs/manpage.html , but am unable to figure out the proper syntax. I can’t use wget because the cut-down version included within Optware doesn’t allow for handling cookies or http referrals.

  10. Wow, thanks for this. I lost my CS5 Production Premium discs when I moved, but I still have my valid license key in 1Password.

Adobe e-Support told me my only option was to upgrade to 5.5 for $400!

  11. I have been trying to download the Master Collection since yesterday and every time I get the “access denied” msg.

I have tried changing browsers, changing computers, connected through ethernet, signed into Adobe website. Nothing has worked so far. Can you please help?

  12. Hey, I want to download Adobe CS5 – Photoshop, however I can’t download it. I’m logged in and downloaded it. But, I get an error that says from Adobe:

“The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop CS5 is missing. You need all the parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop CS5. Please download all parts.”

I followed what you said, exit/close when Adobe Assistant asks “do you want to install CS5.1.”

I do NOT want CS5.1, nor CS5.5. I want to make it very SPECIFIC, I want CS 5.0!

So, now what do I do? Thanks!

Would link 2 work? If I were to install? Thanks.

    • Hi Jamez, for that message, this support page may be of assistance.

Also sometimes if you have put these downloaded files on a different disk drive than where you want to install them to, that can cause problems.

Another possibility is that the second file (the “file archive”) got downloaded as a text document instead of a .7z file… In other words, some computers for some strange reason occasionally append a .TXT suffix to that File 2. But that will not work, that second file needs to have a .7Z suffix – so if that’s what you see, then you could rename it to remove whatever extension it has and replace that with .7z instead.

If these suggestions don’t fix the issue, please double-check to make sure you have a “matched pair” of files… There are a lot of links above and it’s possible to have downloaded the .exe from one, but the .7z from another. A matched pair will have the same exact filename except for the different file extensions.

Worst case, you start over, use a new directory to download to, follow all the instructions carefully, and then review the comments above if you continue to have any difficulty.

  13. Just wanted to say thanks! This works very well, and it is great to have access to the CS5 trials for poor college students like me who can’t afford the software yet, but need it for class!

  14. I downloaded Adobe Production Premium CS5 and it installed OK. Since I have a 32-bit computer, I have to install AE and Pr CS4. However, I cannot locate any folder or .exe that is supposed to be included. Where is it? Some instructions tell me to locate the Akamai link, but I didn’t use Akamai. Now what?

  15. @E – Great news, glad to help!

@bvpmama – Actually the trial versions of CS5 do not contain CS4 – you’d need to download CS4 separately if you need it (like for 32-bit computers as you correctly observed). However, if you buy a CS5 or CS5.5 suite, then you do get those CS4 versions bundled in free as well.

In other words, ALL purchased copies of CS5 and CS5.5 Production Premium and Master Collection contain the extra 32-bit Support Package that includes After Effects CS4 and Premiere Pro CS4. You get this included whether you download the paid software or order the boxed version.

None of the other Creative Suite 5 applications require 64-bit, the rest all work fine on 32-bit systems.
