Hi Vic, the terms of the EULA haven't changed in this regard for CS6 - they're the same as they were for CS4...

So, you should be able to continue in your same usage with installing and activating CS6 on up to two of your machines.

This could take me to the RAW edge of photography. Work in low light and a tight budget. Often give away photos to local musicians. Only working part time and really need Lightroom. 75% of my photos are at ISO 1000 or higher. Often at 3200. My Photoshop version is an ancient copy of Elements.

Folks - I was getting the same .jsp errors as reported above but resolved it. I suspect that many may have mis-read the instructions as I did. Step 1 says "Click here to visit this page like you want to try Photoshop CS5.1..." I interpreted this to mean to click only if I want to try Photoshop, so I did not click it, and got the errors. Suggest rewording it by taking out the reference to Photoshop - that step is mandatory to activate any of the links below. By the way, that link leads to Photoshop 6. In any case, thank you ProDesign for making this all available.

Hi, I just ordered my copy of CS6 Web Premium Student for Windows. I currently have a fairly new desktop and an aging PC laptop. I know you can install on two machines with the license. However being that I'm a Web Development & Design student, I'm thinking of upgrading my laptop within a year.

I understand you can transfer the license to a new machine but what if I got a Macbook Pro as my second machine? I know PC's are fully capable but I think Macs are more the industry standard and plus I want to be comfortable using both platforms for my resume and future job prospects. Is it possible to split the two allowed licensees on two different operating systems under my ownership? Thank you.

Hello... I am planning on moving to CS6 from CS4. I am currently running CS4 on both my primary workstation as well as my mobile MacBook Air, that only I use... Am I going to be able to continue doing that when I move to CS6? Can I take advantage of the "Mobile License Agreement" ? With a retail copy of CS6, will I still have the opportunity to make a second call to the license server from that laptop, or will it tell me that CS6 is already running on one station? Thanks!

Got it -- thanks. I was not able to use the link because I was trying to download from a PowerPC (hence the need for CS4), but I able to get it from my MacBook Pro. Then I transferred the files (long process) to the other computer.

Thanks for your quick reply!

Hello Rich, thank you for your thoughts. No, because the folks who bought CS5.5 when it first came out got to use it for a year before CS6 arrived, whereas buyers in April very quickly had the old version... Also if Adobe offers free upgrades to all purchasers of a previous product then they would never be able to finance actually creating new releases or features - the company's income has to come from somewhere.

One thing we’ve learned after being an Adobe Partner for 5+ years is that it’s never possible to manage dates on special offers so that everyone is perfectly happy... No matter what period the company chooses, by definition there will always be someone just before or just after. So pleasing everyone all the time is unfortunately not possible - but if you'd like to share your feedback or experience with them directly, here's their Customer Contact page.

Going forward feel free to stay tuned here (see the "Subscribe" box at the upper right), as we always try to give early word and estimates on upcoming major releases, and have been posting on CS6 timeframes since last summer. Forecasting these timeframes from public information we pick up helps many of our readers with managing their purchases and upgrades.

In some cases more RAM is recommended, but typically not required. Generally speaking, most CS6 applications take better advantage of the resources you already have like the GPU (e.g., Illustrator, Premiere, Photoshop, Fireworks). Also several of the tool interfaces have been completely reengineered to make for a faster and smoother user experience. These are just some of the improvements that CS6 has over CS5.

So CS6 is really going to be the better choice, but if you still want the CS5.5 trials they are still available, and you can still buy CS5.5 if you want.

Confirmed with Adobe that a new large wave of emails went out this morning with redemption codes for a free upgrade to CS6, for those that bought CS5.5 during the grace period... Not everyone had received theirs yet, so hopefully this will go a long way towards completing the offer.

For those still waiting, you can still get started right away by downloading the free CS6 trial, which will work fully for 30 calendar days until your permanent serial number arrives. Then you just enter your new license key to convert the trial to permanent.

Hello Jay, see previous comment. What happened when you tried the link?

If still no luck, try a different browser, computer, and/or Internet connection and see if that helps. Or read Kate's earlier comments, the things she tried, and the series of replies which follow - and hopefully that will get you going.
