By the way, Adobe offers platform exchanges supposedly, but if you bought it all as a suite like I did with production premium, you have to move the entire suite. Then you also cannot move it back. You have to upgrade after that.
Yes, it’s true that Creative Suite is still sold as single-platform software, and that a one-time “crossgrade” is possible to change from Windows to Mac or vice versa…
However Adobe has recently changed both Lightroom and Photoshop & Premiere Elements to be multiplatform – so as our computing environments grow increasingly heterogeneous, there is hope that the next release of Creative Suite (CS6) will be as well.
In the meantime, if you need to buy a CS4, CS5, or CS5.5 product that will run on both Windows and Mac, get a volume license (even if it’s for only one copy of the software). Hope this helps.
when i click on the .exe file (with the .7z file fully downloaded) it comes up with an error saying “the file archive of adobe after effects cs4 is missing. please download all parts” any help?

Hey ProDesign, it’s me again, I’ve had problems with Adobe Illustrator CS4 – every time i enter my serial key, it says the serial for this product has expired… are there any solutions?

Imran, did you try the other things suggested in our previous response?
Are you installing to the same disk where you have the downloaded files? Do you have administrator privileges to install it? (right-click the icon and “Run as Administrator”)
It’s also possible you may have an incomplete or corrupted download. Here are the MD5 checksums for Premiere Pro CS4 – please check against them to see if your files downloaded fully and correctly.
If the checksums do not match, then you’ll have to try the download again… The best advice to solve it: avoid Wi-Fi, and try a different browser, computer, and/or internet connection.
If the checksums do match, then you indeed have the proper and complete files – and it must be some funky issue with your particular computer. Scan through the previous comments here for other possible things to try, or search the Adobe Forums or Google with the exact text of the message you’re getting.

I’m trying to download the Adobe CS3 Design Premium trial, however when I click on the given files I’m directed to Adobe.com, where it appears only CS5.5 is available. Is there somewhere else I can get this?

Welcome Eldon, oddly that does tend to happen from time to time with the Adobe site. And there is no place other than Adobe’s servers (linked above) that you can safely find and download these authentic CS3 & CS4 trials.
But please see Kate’s earlier comments, try the things she tried, and read the replies which follow – and that should help you work past the issue.

If I have already downloaded and used up a CS5 trial, can I still use these legally?
Greetings Frank, that’s a good question and the answer is yes, Adobe legally allows you to try each of their releases for a single trial period on a given computer.
You also can install and run multiple releases of the same product (full or trial) side-by-side on the same system if you desire. For example, some folks have Photoshop CS3, CS4, plus CS5 installed together on one machine.

I downloaded cs3 illustrator file 1 from above which is ADBEILSTCS3_WWE. So when i try to open it in my download folder, it asks which program to open it with.
Oh, that’s easy. You must have been using IE, a browser which has a tendency to drop the file extensions sometimes on the downloaded file(s). As mentioned in the article above, just rename to add back an “.exe” where needed, and you should be fine for that.
It is nice that you have e-mailed me a link. One problem, It still pushes the 64bit system. I try, try, try and try some more and I still get the 64 bit. Can anyone help me on getting the program that I need?

Hello again Dale, the trials for 32-bit versions of After Effects and Premiere Pro are right here on this page above. It sounds like you are getting redirected to Adobe’s CS5.5 trial page instead. i tried downloading flash and it worked, but now i cant download the dreamweaver trial!

Basically, i’ve got CS4 trials already installed on my Windows 7 computer, (the windows version of the Cleaner is being updated) But, what i want to know is, though i have some CS4 items on my computer, do i need to uninstall them for the Cleaner to work? because i just want to use it for adobe illustrator, so it can fix that problem with the expired license.
In other words, do i need to uninstall/backup all my adobe cs4 just to fix one product, or does it work for just that one?
Ah, okay. Adobe’s Creative Suite Cleaner Tool will remove all traces of all CS3/CS4/CS5/CS5.5 products from your computer, after they’ve been uninstalled.
So the answer to your question is yes, you’d have to remove everything to run the tool, then reboot and begin again any installations. But, four notes:
1. If you are in the middle of a trial period, any reinstallation of that trial will just pick up from where you left off with the same number of free days left.
2. If you ran the same trial previously on the same computer (for example, if you had a trial of Illustrator CS4 some time ago), the Cleaner Tool will not fix or change that.
3. This earlier comment and response may also be helpful for an “expired” message.
4. There is nothing stopping you from downloading and running the trial of a later version of Illustrator on the same computer (e.g., CS5 or CS5.5), and it will work fine with other trial applications that are CS4.

Thanks ProDesign, and i’ve thought about CS5, but i’m more of a CS4 person, reasons being;
Cs4 keeps it sweet and simple, and to the point while Cs5 seems to give just two or more extra options per program and charge about 10-50 dollars more (though this may be wrong)
Also, I’ve never run a trial of adobe illustrator cs4 on this computer, so this Cleaner should fix this, correct?
Yes, it’s true that CS5 and CS5.5 do more than CS4, however the prices of the products are similar if not identical in most cases.
Some of the newer features are really appreciated, such as Content-Aware Fill in Photoshop CS5, which doesn’t exist in CS4 and earlier. This is a real “magical” time-saver.
But if you still want Creative Suite 4 instead, we recommend buying CS4 here through Adobe’s “Business Store” (using their Backward Licensing Policy). That way, you’re assured of getting authentic and safe software, which is hard to find elsewhere.
As for the Cleaner Tool – it may work to fix the “expired trial” issue, but there are no guarantees. (And actually, if you’ve ever run a CS4 trial before that included Illustrator, you won’t be able to run it again regardless.)
Dear Prodesign, im new to this site and whenever i click a file, it keeps taking me to the adobe website… please help i want to download flash professional cs4 trial, as i find it easier and better to use but the problem is that the significant links keep taking me to the adobe official website where there are no cs4 trials… please elaborate further, thanks in advance.

when it is loading, setup it pops up an error that says installer database is invalid, any advice?

The “CS4 Clean Utility” they refer to is now called the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, and it also works for CS4 and CS3.
Thanks for helping me..I have tried everything, the checksums are similar, have downloaded all the files in the same location, have tried installing as an admin, have tried extracting them in the same folder as the original file.. none of them are seems to be working and I keep getting the write privileges error..
Is there any other suggestion you can tell me..it would be greatly appreciated sir

Sorry you are still having problems with it Imran… and sorry to say that we are out of ideas here. Your best bet is to search the Adobe Forums or Google for that error message and see what you turn up.
It’s a shame you have a 32-bit computer, otherwise you’d be able to try the CS5 trials or CS5.5 trials instead.

ok i kinda understand that but i have another question now – when i try to redownload the files, it just takes me to adobe site and it says i have to sign in… but when i do it brings me to the new cs5.5 downloads and i dont have any cookies blocking it or firewall. any ideas to fix this problem?

Thank you for posting these links. I have downloaded Adobe CS3 Design Premium for Mac successfully and it is working well in the trial version. I have purchased CS5 recently but Indesign does not work well on my new iMac and Adobe tech support have been unable to solve the issue. Indesign CS3 in the trial version works perfectly.
I have contacted Adobe to try to purchase CS3 for Mac before my trial version expires (as the link on the ‘buy product and serial number online’ button just takes me to buy the most current version), but Adobe says that they are unable to sell it to me as they do not sell previous versions, only the latest version!
Does you have any ideas on how I might be able to keep using CS3 after my 30 day trial period? I am willing to do almost anything now!

Hi Kathy, thanks for your question. Trying to find an authentic and safe copy of CS3 (or CS4) is difficult these days… As you saw, Adobe does not sell CS3 in any form, as the software is four years old now.
Your best bet is to look for an Adobe Authorized Reseller/Retailer… (search by zip code or country) You may not find what you’re looking for in stock, but it could be worth a try.
There’s a lot of bad software out there that will harm your computer, so please be very careful. Try to find a vendor you trust, that you’ve heard of, and that you are sure is genuine, authentic, and legal.
But instead of going backwards, we really recommend just getting CS5.5 from Adobe instead (if your computer will support it) – you’ll be safe and get a much better and faster product for the price. Since you already bought CS5 this would be a short upgrade for you to the latest version of InDesign CS5.5. Hope this helps.

Hi, i just downloaded the flash cs5.5 trial and i saved the link to my desktop, but when i try to double-click the application, it gives me an error message:

Thanks for your answer – but unfortunately Indesign CS5.5 has the same issue (I downloaded the trial to see if it would work – and it is slow too, just like Indesign CS5).
Adobe tech support said it was a ‘known issue’, but that doesn’t help much when I need to use Indesign to earn an income.
I have been using CS3 on old PC’s without issue. I recently bought a new iMac (12G Ram, 2TB HD plus 256G SSHD – basically the biggest everything you could get on an iMac), so it should support the software. Both Apple and Adobe have been unable to help, just telling me it’s a ‘known issue’. (It would have been nice to have been told this before I spent 10k on a new computer and software that I can’t use!).
I have spent many hours online looking for a copy of CS3 that I could buy that would be legal to no avail.
Adobe told me that they no longer had copies of the software (which they obviously do, as your link allowed me to download it), and then even when I called back and said I had a trial copy now and I just wanted to pay them for a valid serial number, they still wouldn’t take my money.
So it seems that no matter how hard I try to do it legally and safely, there just isn’t a way! All i want to do is be able to use Indesign productively on my new Mac – this whole debacle has been very frustrating.
If they are going to sell software with known issues, then they should also keep selling the software without the known issue for those who need to use it!
Sorry for the rant – I just really wanted to have a legal copy on my new machine!
Yes Kathy, it can be frustrating if you’re trying to secure a good (permanent, genuine, safe) copy of an older Adobe version for whatever reason. We’ve talked with Adobe about it as well, and basically they say it’s not productive to invest further resources into old versions and have to maintain and sell multiple simultaneous releases of considerably differing ages and sales volumes.
They do sell older versions in some specific cases (for example After Effects CS4 and Premiere Pro CS4 for 32-bit systems), but generally they say it’s not cost-effective for them to do so otherwise.
when i download the .7z file, and open what file do i click on to install after effects cs4????
