    • Well, it’s the inevitable question. Whenever we offer a special discount in partnership with Adobe, folks want to know if they can use it to lower the price of something they already purchased.

In general, it’s not possible. You can buy another (add-on) subscription at this lower price – one per customer – but you can’t apply the discount retroactively. The only exception would be if you bought it from Adobe within the past 14 days, then you could return it using their refund policy and go this route instead.

It’s just one of those things in life. It’s like if you bought a new TV several months ago, and then someplace comes out with a great sale. Usually there’s not much you can do, except consider that you’ve used and enjoyed the TV in the time since you bought it.

      Thanks for your question.

    • Good question Charri. With this special offer, it’s not possible. If you want to score the 20% savings, then the discount is available only with the paid-monthly option.

However, you can still use a debit/credit card, or PayPal now in many countries.

You can also use any Visa/MasterCard gift card (prepaid or reloadable) that has a balance available.

  1. I have the CC subscription at $9.99. I signed up through PDT sometime within the past year or so. I get the impression that the price will not be reduced for existing subscriptions. Would it work to cancel the current subscription and take advantage of this offer?

Admittedly, I thought to use this subscription to start the photographic greeting card company my wife and I planned 5 years ago. I have not done anything with it since then and may well be best served with PSE14 instead. What will be the price for PSE14? Is there a different upgrade price?

Thanks for your help. And thanks for these great opportunities.

    • Greetings Mark, nice to see you back and thanks for your questions. Here are the answers!

Generally, stopping an Adobe annual plan will incur a cancellation fee, unless you are in the final month of the plan. Here are the subscription terms for working out how much that might be.

Would it be worth it to cancel your existing CC subscription and sign up with this discounted offer instead? Possibly, but it would depend on the size of any fee vs. the size of the savings you get with this special plan.

Alternatively, you could try contacting Adobe Customer Service (via live online chat is usually fastest/easiest) and see if they will waive any fee, knowing that you will be re-signing up immediately with a lower-priced CC offer. (No guarantees if that works!)

On your last question, Photoshop Elements 14 is already out – it was released about a month ago. You can download the free trials here, and Adobe’s Elements pricing remains consistent with the past, including for upgraders.

Finally, here are the differences between PSE 14 vs. 13, 12, and 11, if you are looking to see what’s new.

      Hope that helps!

  2. How do I switch from the $9.99 per month plan that I am currently on to the $7.99 plan? I only really need to keep using Lightroom and Photoshop.

  3. can you please tell me if this package is :
    Compatible with Windows 10?
Includes any upgrades as they become available?
Can be obtained in the UK?
I would be using a credit card to pay, will this be ok using the cc?

    Many thanks

    • Hello Bob, a definite YES to all four questions:

      1. Yes. Here are Adobe’s official system requirements for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, for both Windows and Mac.

      2. Yes. All ongoing upgrades are included and available to you immediately – so you can always be running the latest-and-greatest releases of both Photoshop and Lightroom.

      3. Yes. The 20%-off discount offer is available worldwide, and the price in the UK is £5.71 plus VAT.

      4. Yes. Using a credit card, a debit card, or Paypal should all work fine for you.

      Hope that helps!

  4. I live in Tanzania and tried to purchase Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom only to be told that Adobe CC is not available in Tanzania yet. Any idea when it will be, and is there a solution you can offer until it becomes available?

    Reply
    • Hi Mike, thanks for your questions. It appears that Adobe is not yet offering Creative Cloud for Individuals in the country where you live… The list of where CC can be purchased is now 94 countries and always growing larger.

However, if you happen to have a billing address and form of payment (including PayPal) that is based in any one of those other countries where Adobe offers their products online, then you should still be able to purchase CC direct – even if your home address is elsewhere…

[Note that your Adobe ID needs to be associated with the same country as your credit card or billing address, so if it isn’t then you may have to create a new Adobe ID.]

But even if that doesn’t work, then you should still be able to buy Creative Cloud for Teams from a reseller in your country. However, the offer described above ($7.99/month for Photoshop + Lightroom) is not available from any reseller or retailer, but only from Adobe direct.

Finally, while not everyone has full access yet, Adobe tells us they continue to work to expand the availability on an ongoing basis – so look for still more countries to be added going forward (and don’t forget that Creative Suite was never sold everywhere either).

But whatever you do, avoid any illegitimate version at all costs!

    • Hey there Nick – sorry you’re having difficulties… Adobe told us that the discount would be available worldwide, wherever Creative Cloud was offered by them directly. We’re going to look into this and get right back to you – thanks!

    • Hello again Nick – just double-checked the deal offered with an Austrian Adobe account, and the pricing is correct… You should be seeing €7,99 + 20% VAT = €9,59 for your total price. That’s what we get.

That is a 20% discount off the regular price for the CC Photography plan (normally €11,99/month). So, in fact the special offer does appear to be working fine in your country.

Please let us know if that isn’t clear, or if you have any further questions!

  5. Yesterday evening I signed up to get the CC Photography Plan and so far I have not received any feedback from you folks or from Adobe. Signed up to Adobe today using my Adobe ID and it starts asking me to sign up to a plan – well, I already did through your web site. I’m in the States so it should not be a problem. Any help you could provide will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rafael

    • Greetings Rafael – sorry you’re having difficulties. You completed the payment transaction at Adobe’s site, but haven’t yet received anything afterwards? No email or confirmation page, or further guidance or instructions? Check your bulk/junk mail or spam folder to make sure nothing important wound up in there.

Normally it can a day or so for Adobe’s system to finalize your order and process your payment, so you should have received something by now. What does your credit card company say – or PayPal, if you used them? You should see the receipt for the transaction showing up there.

You may also want to contact Adobe directly (via live online chat is usually fastest/easiest) to see if they have any record of your order or payment.

In the meantime, feel free to download the free CC trials and free Adobe books, and get started right away. You’ll be able to activate the trial software without reinstalling it when you have confirmation from Adobe.

      Hope that helps!

  6. Hello,

I am interested in the Photoshop/Lightroom bundle for $7.99. I currently have CS6 Master Collection, so I would like to know:

    1. Do I have to uninstall my current CS6 Photoshop app first?

    2. Will there be any conflicts once I download the Creative Cloud version of Photoshop?

    3. I plan on sharing the CC bundle with one other computer in my household. If Photoshop CC or Lightroom CC were being used on one computer, could I use my old Photoshop CS6 version on my current computer at the same time?

    Thanks!

    Reply
    • Welcome Martin, here are the answers for you:

      1. No, you don’t need to uninstall CS6 – you can have multiple different Adobe versions installed on the same computer.

      2. No, there shouldn’t be any conflicts or interference between the different releases.

      3. Yes, because you purchased CS6 and CC independently, you should be able to use them at the same time on different machines.

For more details on all of this, see this guide:

How Many Systems Can You Install or Run Adobe CC or CS6 On?

  7. Twice I have made the transaction (from this site) to purchase the Photoshop/Lightroom bundle for $7.99, gone through all the motions providing required information, etc, and no response whatsoever from Adobe. On both times the system seemed to accept the transaction. I’m using the free trial so my info is also in the site. I have checked with my credit card company and they have not received any charges from Adobe.
Would appreciate it if somebody could look into why this is happening?

    Thanks

    • OK Rafael, here is the response we received direct from Adobe management:

We are aware of the issue where some customers attempt to place an order but it is unsuccessful. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.

*** Please ask the customer to use a different browser (or clear the browser cache and cookies) – and then place a new order.

If it’s possible to capture the following details, our IT team can debug the issue further:

      1. What was the customer’s browser type and version while placing the original order?

      2. At which step of the purchase process did the customer first experience the problem? e.g. After entering payment information? After submitting the order? etc.

      3. What exact issue did the customer experience, if any? (e.g,. page not found, page did not load, page loads indefinitely, page presents an error message, page redirects to another page, etc.)

      Thank you!

So we really hope that helps you out. Please let us know how it goes, and if you can answer those questions then we will pass the information straight back to Adobe!

  8. I switched browsers (should have thought about this earlier) and placed the order and worked with no problem. Definitely appreciate your help in solving this.

To answer the IT team questions, I was using Firefox V42 with no results, and switched to Internet Explorer V10 which allowed me to sign up

The problem occurred after entering payment information – screen changed back to ProDesignTools $7.99 offer screen and I was not sure if it had gone through or not.

Again, thanks for the help – happy customer now.

    Rafael

    • Thank you so much Rafael – that is really great to hear, and we appreciate letting us know how you solved it by using a different browser.

We will pass the detailed information you gave back to Adobe, so that hopefully they can take care of that glitch!

  9. Hi, is there an option to pay the full year in advance with this promo? I tried to purchase it but it only wants me to be billed on a monthly period with a 1 year commitment.

    Reply
    • Hi Eddie, thanks for your question. Normally with most CC subscriptions you can prepay one year upfront – however for this special promotion, that option is not available.

If you still want to prepay upfront, then you can easily purchase a prepaid debit card from Visa or MasterCard and use that instead.

Sorry, and hope you can still take advantage of it!

    • Hey Robert, the one-year pay-in-advance option is not available for this discount.

You can however use PayPal, or any major credit or debit card (including any Visa/MasterCard gift card) that has a balance.

    • It’s no problem if you still want to prepay upfront for the CC plan. As mentioned above, you can also use any Visa/MasterCard gift card (prepaid or reloadable) that has a balance available.

So you can easily purchase a Visa eGift Card online that is delivered to you instantly via email. It works as a virtual debit card – just put whatever maximum balance you want on it and then you can use it wherever you want, including at Adobe. Done.

Or another option would be to use the free Privacy Card service.

  10. Hi There,

Not wishing to disagree with you but on personal experience there are two issues I would raise. First, I paid for my Photoshop/Lightroom CC subscription in a one-off payment for the whole year in April 2015, not monthly, and I have continued to use and get regular updates for both Photoshop and Lightroom. Second, I attended the photographic exhibition in Birmingham (England) yesterday and the Adobe stand were promoting the new lower price deal.

    Hope that helps.

  11. I took up this offer and have now been advised by Adobe that the fee will increase to $11.99; that’s an increase of 47%. They claim the increase is due to ‘rate of exchange’ which is rubbish. The product is good but the increase is not justified.

    • It’s not rubbish at all Mike. You’ve actually been getting the product much cheaper in Australia than what Adobe’s American customers pay, and still will be! See here for the details on how and why that price adjustment happened:

Why Did My Adobe Creative Cloud Membership Price Change?

Also contributing to the increase is that your first year promotional pricing is ending (i.e., the introductory $7.99/mo. CC Photography Plan rate that you received through this page).

      Hope that explanation helps.
