For what’s new, well – Photoshop Elements v. 9 will be based from Adobe Photoshop CS5, so I am just hoping to see as many new features as possible filter down!
But I’ve got to be realistic since Adobe is probably not going to “give away the store”, considering the large price difference between the two……
So I just hope some of the quirks and glitches in recent releases are taken care of, and it’s a solid product, and the price stays about the same.
I just hope to see more fun stuff in the updated version and I hope that the PC and MAC versions will be on one disc (come out at the same time), such as Adobe has done with Lightroom 3. They license you to use on two of your machines but I have one PC and one MAC. The release of Elements 8 for Mac was a lag behind the Windows version… because??
I enjoy digital scrapbooking and adding special effects with brushes and vectors to some of my photos so I am hopeful there will be more templates and artwork and FONTS for these purposes!
It’s great to have this product at an affordable price since many of us do not aspire to be professional end-users but rather use the software for our own ultimate enjoyment. Without an affordable option, I would just go to Shutterfly or MixBook to do my digital scrapbooking. By the way, the Costco version of PSE8 came bundled with a Digital Scrapbooking Training CD ~ that would be nice to get without having to get it at Costco.
PICK ME!!! I am anxiously awaiting PSE9!!!!!
i love it
just starting to get into elements 8 and looking for the newest, latest, and greatest when it comes to enhancing my work for fun and family. 6 grandkids will supply hours of memories to be shared through our large family.
I’ve been a longtime user of photoshop elements and have upgraded almost every year, and this year for the first time I am going to get the bundle package that includes premiere elements. I’ve been shooting a lot of video lately with my new dslr and have been drooling for premiere pro cs5 but will start with pre 9 for the moment, hopefully they will share more in common :). Anyway, I never paid much attention before but the bundle is hard to beat with the pair costing only half more than either elements product by itself.
I have been a user since Elements 4.0 and have updated each year. I’d like to see more templates, effects and fonts as I am just getting into scrapbooking. Hoping they will send down some fun new stuff from the big guy.
I’d like to see even more artistic effects – having fun with ordinary images is a great, shared family activity.
I already know I can rely on PSE for the more serious work!
@DS
I’m with you, I’d like to see more fun and creative things to do with your final photographic products, like more for printable or sendable cards, calendars, scrapbooks, templates, albums, animations, etc!
I believe it is a must for Premiere Elements 9 to have the option of 5.1 sound mixing for all video output formats.
Version 8 was lacking this feature compared to other video editing programs.
I’m still learning to use my elements 8 so any new imrovements I’m sure I will enjoy.
Feeling lucky!!!
Sorry people,
Adobe is probably going to ditch photoshop elements in favor of photoshop.com.
The decision isn’t official yet, but leaning toward dropping pse.
Hi, thank you for your interesting (and provocative) comment. Curious, on what basis do you say this? We have heard nothing of the kind…
Adobe Photoshop Elements is the #1-selling consumer photo-editing software in the world, is a large revenue source plus major exposure & reach for Adobe, and as a derivative of their main professional product, does not require huge additional development costs (which is one reason why it’s out every year). So it would be a major surprise if this were not continued.
I really hope that I win Elements 9, please :-)
Moving to the MAC at the moment so am hoping PSE 9 will also be available on MAC.
Just learned to say PSE 7 and they changed it to PSE 9.
Looking forward to PSE 9. I lost the tagging of over 1000 pictures when my old computer crashed. I had PSE 4 and definitely need to upgrade since Windows 7 is not compatible with earlier versions.
Thanks
An up-date would be most appreciated.
Hi Frank, you’re most welcome – and the best update we have on the current status for PSE 9 is on our popular page, When Will Photoshop Elements 9 Be Released?
Hey, I just got started with this stuff – I’m using the 30 day trial of Premiere Elements 8. Be nice not to have to buy it to escape my demo period. :)
Hello to all foto-freaks. My last version from photoshop elements is version 5. Now its time for an update. My first look was on version 8, but the new version starts in 2-3 weeks. So, i wait, and win? Greets from germany! make nice shots
I am hoping they include the ability to take snapshots in the undo history and the ability to group and ungroup layers.
I will use PSE9 to edit my pictures and to continue teaching my online PSE workshops.
Thank you for this giveaway. I will let my FB followers know about it.
Awesome! I am hoping it will have the rules of thirds grid on the crop tool.
I would love to win.
I gotta admit, I’m still learning PSE. I hope PSE 9 is a little easier to learn. I use it primarily to edit photos. Would like to get more into using PSE to create other enhancements – holiday cards, etc.
I am looking forward to starting my photoshop journey on PSE9!
