I can’t get the CS5 master suite to download. Today I can’t get anything to download. I signed into my account. Is this a legal site? I thought it was.
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/STAM/CS5/osx10/MasterCollection_CS5_LS1.dmg” on this server.

I forgot to say I was signed into my Adobe account when I tried to download the master suite.
Greetings Danna, have you carefully followed the download instructions given in the article above?
Then if still no luck, check out this list of suggestions to try.
I think they took the downloads down. :(
No, just tested them and everything still works fine.
Nope… Access denied.
Hi Stacie, the links are fine as normal… please see the reply to Danna above.
I have the exactly same problem, I cannot retrieve the files. Any solution, please?
Yes, the solution for occasional issues like that was posted a few comments back.
I followed the instructions exactly and everything proceeded as described. When I went to my downloads folder File 1 had no extension and therefore would not open on Windows. File 2 was a zipped file. When I unzipped it the folders and files replicate exactly what I have on my cd but LIKE my cd, when I click on the exe file nothing happens. Any ideas?
Hi Joanne, it sounds like your browser lost the file extension off the first file… Sometimes that happens especially if you use Internet Explorer – it will drop the “.EXE” off the end of the Windows executable file.
If so, then you just need to rename the file to add that extension back to the end of that filename – and then double-click it to get started with the trial installation. You shouldn’t need to do anything at all with the second (zipped archive) file – that will all be taken care of by the File 1 executable.
This is seriously the most frustrating thing ever. I have an authentic serial I purchased of the CS5 Master Collection and I need to transfer it to my new Mac. However, I cannot get these links to function. “Access Denied” over and over again. I’ve walked through the troubleshooting steps and still nothing.
Sorry you’re having difficulties Benjamin – did you see the list of download tips, particularly #9?
The odds are if you try again today or tomorrow, while following those suggestions plus the instructions in the article, it should work for you. Good luck!
Update: It finally worked last night.
Thanks for the archive! A true lifesaver! For anyone else having trouble, make sure you do step 3 above (hit the download button on any CS6 trial currently on the Adobe site). This will set the Adobe download cookie, which will lift the permission restrictions and grant access to the download links above.
Yes, exactly right. Glad to hear you got it going Benjamin, and thanks for your kind words.
OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!
I HAD PHOTOSHOP CS5 EXTENDED STUDENT (PAID FOR AND FROM A DOWNLOAD), AFTER A COMPUTER CRASH I LOST ALL PROGRAMS AND DID NOT HAVE A HARD COPY TO RELOAD FROM.
I CONTACTED ADOBE WHO INFORMED ME THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME CS5, THAT I COULD ONLY UPGRADE TO CS6. I ALSO WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR STUDENT PRICING. I WAS JUST SICK ABOUT IT!
FOLLOWED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS (KINDA) AND ENTERED MY SERIAL NUMBER INSTEAD OF SELECTING THE TRIAL VERSION – AND IT ACCEPTED IT – VOILA!
I AM SOOOO HAPPY! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
That’s terrific, glad to help Kathy – and thanks for letting us know!
We do get a lot of folks here who have lost their program discs – but you should also know that for purchases via download, Adobe will keep the software available in your online account with them for three years. When you log in to your Adobe account it will be visible under “My orders.”
Regardless, you can use these trial downloads as well along with your valid serial number to permanently (re)activate your products, as you found.
Hey :) I’ve been trying everything for days now and nothing seems to be working, just the same access denied. I’ve tried the cookies settings, turning off the anti-virus and staying signed into the adobe account.
Please help. Thank you
Not sure Christina, just tested yet again and all these links work with no problem whatsoever when carefully following the directions in the article… Did you try a different browser or reboot your system to see if that helped? Please try a different computer and/or Adobe ID account and see how you make out.
I’ve been trying to download CS5 master suite for days but keep getting a access denied redirect after that I tried to download many other CS5 suites with the same problem. I have an adobe account and I am signed in, is their something I’m missing or are the links dead like all the other links I’ve found on other web sight’s. I’m just a poor artist and all I have is Windows XP SP3 32 bit what are people like me supposed to do. Is Adobe basically forcing everyone to buy Windows 7.
OK for some reason my Internet Explorer kept getting access denied so I tried my Google Chrome Browser and had some success. I can now start the download but when I try to run it I get this message (The file archive part of Adobe CS5 Master Collection is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe CS5 Master Collection. Please download all parts.) What is this? I have tried to download other suites and individual programs and I get the same message except for the name of the product every time. Any help would be much appreciated. Just in case I should let you know I did not fully download CS6 because I have no use for it. Do I need to fully download it?
Hey there Michael – that issue should be solved if you follow the steps given in this earlier comment and response.
Thanks for the quick response. That fixed my problem. I got one more question, what is the difference between file-1 and file-2, and thanks again
I guess I had more then one more question for you, but if this works out it’s a big purchase for me so I want to get it right. So I was wandering why the production premium download was so much larger then the master suite because I thought the master collection contained everything.
Good questions Michael – File 1 and File 2 for Windows just break the trial download up into two parts, which is the way Adobe does it… On the Mac (by contrast), it’s always just one single file.
And here’s the answer on why Production Premium download is larger than the Master Collection.
Thanks again for helping me out, you guys/gals at ProDesign are awesome. I have to say out of all the websites I’ve been to, you’re one of the few I would give a 10 out of 10 so keep up the great work.
Sure, you bet Michael, we’re happy to help! Thank you for visiting and for your thoughtful comment, and please stop back anytime.
Hey! I just got this downloaded and I cannot extract the .7z file, I tried winRar and PeaZip and neither could open it! Any advice?
Well for Windows you shouldn’t need to use those utilities actually – just download both files above and run the .EXE file (File 1) to get started with the process.
I have downloaded the two CS5 Design Premium files for Windows above. I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I wanted to install the program and incorporate our registration code, but I get this error: “Installer failed to initialize. File not found. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.” When I do this and try to run it, the Advisor says it is “mis-configured” and won’t run. HELP!
Hi Nicole, see this troubleshooting page for help on that message.
We already ran the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool before downloading and attempting to install the two files. Why are we still getting this same error? (How can we determine what else is wrong?)
Well, according to Adobe support staff: “Most of the time, it’s actually an issue with the download which was not successful.”
Does it have to be downloaded all in the same session? Our Web service is via our cellular phone network.
Yes Nicole, with direct download links it would have to be – unless you used a download manager of your own.
These DDL provide direct streams of the software straight from Adobe’s servers, and a download manager can be added to deal with connection breaks, pause and resume, etc.
We use Internet Download Manager (IDM).
We had to resume the download at least 3 times. Should we have (re-) logged in to Adobe each time?
Usually you wouldn’t have to log back in, because your authenticated session with Adobe should last for a while before it times out.
Now it is asking for Disk AdobeDesignPremium5-English. ???
Okay, if you happen to get an “Insert disc” (DVD / CD) message when installing a Creative Suite download, see this forum recommendation to hopefully take care of that.
I am up briefly and tried again–now I get the original errors with both the 7z file and the Support file. Why is this happening? I am so frustrated!
Also, the .7z file cannot be “run as administrator”–apparently ZIP files don’t allow that.
Actually you don’t need to run the .7z file – only the .exe file… The executable takes care of everything for you, it’s all you need to run.
If you’re still having difficulties, it may just be that these files are too large for you to receive correctly over your slow cellular connection. We do not even recommend using Wi-Fi here – wired is by far the best, fastest, and most reliable. So perhaps you can find another computer or Internet connection to use? Sorry!
I downloaded both DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.7z and ….exe from the page where Adobe’s CS5 downloads are available. The instructions for installation said to install the *.7z file first, and only then install the *.exe file.
The confusing and frustrating part is that the installation didn’t work the first time–I got error messages from both the *.7z file and the Adobe Support Advisor. Then, after restarting the computer, the install started yesterday and got “hung” in the middle with the demand for a disk. Now, after restarting the PC again, I get the original set of error messages!
Does anyone have any idea why this confusing and frustrating situation can take place?
Well, it turns out that although the install didn’t complete, it appeared in Control Panel’s list of programs. I therefore removed it and ran the Cleaner.
I will try again after restarting my PC for the second time today.
