[UPDATE (Jan. 2017) – Adobe just stopped selling CS6 entirely – here’s why.]
[IMPORTANT – Adobe is discontinuing public direct download links for older software. Instead, you can now download legacy installers here through their website, or get the latest Creative Cloud installers here. For more details and complete information, see our new explainer post here.]
Creative Suite 6 is now available for instant download and direct shipping, and there are many important differences in this release compared to Creative Suite 5, including hundreds of new features added to the individual applications.
Here we’ve put together a complete set of Adobe CS6 direct download links for all the new products (Windows and Mac OS), for instant easy access and the ability to use your own download manager or download assistant if you have any difficulty with what Adobe normally employs and need to get the trials without it…
Whether you’re considering buying a full version or will be upgrading from a prior CS release, or even if you’re getting a volume license or joining the Creative Cloud, you can always use these free trials to install, run, and activate the CS6 software on your system, without needing to reinstall. All of these CS6 trials will run fully for 30 (or possibly more) free days after initial launch.
Where available, we’ve also linked the free CS6 Extra Content downloads (aka Additional or Functional Content). Direct links for both the Adobe Muse 30-day trial plus the completely FREE, full Adobe Edge Animate 1.5 are offered as well (to install Edge Animate, see these tips).
Special: Legally download dozens of free Adobe books for a limited time!
Below is a table for CS6 trials in major languages. These links go to the authentic and original CS6 files residing on Adobe’s servers, are guaranteed genuine, safe, legal, and will not change. For Windows, each program consists of up to two files, an .exe and a 7-Zip file (.7z). The .exe file will only work when the .7z file is also fully downloaded and resides in the same location. For the Mac, it’s just a single .dmg file for each program.
The supported Language Sets vary by product. The Western European languages can include French/Français, German/Deutsch, Dutch/Nederlands, Italian/Italiano, Spanish/Español, Portuguese/Português, Danish/Dansk, Finnish/Suomi, Swedish/Svenska & Norwegian/Norsk. To see which product supports which languages, visit the main Adobe trials page and then click on the selection menu for whichever product(s) you’d like to try – it will tell you which languages are currently available.
Install now: Get all new Creative Cloud 2024 direct download links and free trials.

If you need or want the newer Acrobat XI (released Oct. 2012) instead of Acrobat X which comes bundled in the CS6 suites, then see our Acrobat XI Direct Download Links.
Note there is no separate trial download for Photoshop CS6 “Standard” – the trial is always the Extended version (having all Photoshop features including 3D and motion-based content), and then you decide which version you’d like to keep at time of product purchase.
You do not need to uninstall previous versions of Creative Suite; some users prefer to keep the older, familiar version(s) around as they come up to speed with the new product’s features, and some folks have CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5, and CS6 all on one computer.
We suggest using a browser other than Internet Explorer to download the files above. They can be quite large and IE has been known to drop the extension (like “.exe”) from the Windows filename. If this happens and you can’t open a file, then just rename it to add back the extension. But generally, using Firefox or Chrome will work better – and if you have any issues getting the downloads to work with one browser, then try another.
*** Note: If you have any problems getting the files to download or install, be sure to read the earlier comments on this page – as most questions have already been asked and answered below!
Adobe CS6 Extra Content
This is Extra Content (also called Functional Content) that Adobe bundles with some CS6 applications. It is technically optional and not required to run the main products, but will improve your experience if you can take the time to download and add it to your installation.
What’s included in this free additional content are typically media assets, templates, tutorials, documentation, fonts, footage, sample files and projects, and so on. If you own a suite, you can download the bundle for that plus whichever applications are in it.

Hello, I’ve downloaded the trial versions of photoshop cs6 (English version, both files) and I followed the instructions. I logged in my adobe account. Extracted the file Photoshop_13_LS16 in the same folder where I’ve downloaded the both files, but after launch the Photoshop_13_LS16.exe , it seems it is installing and everything goes ahead, but when it reaches 100% instead of start, the installation closes automatically and nothing happens. What could be the problem?
Currently I have these two files in a folder:
Photoshop_13_LS16.exe
Photoshop_13_LS16.7z (this was unzipped in the same folder).
But nothing happens… Thanks for the help… Sorry, these days I’m into photoshop
Sorry, not sure – never heard that one before… Did you receive any error(s) or other messages?
Which operating system are you running and what version?
Maybe try downloading again, in case there was any glitch in the download process.
HI, i have clicked the File 1 buttons for Mac, and there is no download – it just takes you to Adobe site with no installer coming up for CS6. Has it been taken down?
Hello Bil, please see the new important notice at the top of the post above:
Hello.
I downloaded the installer file for Adobe Muse 3.2, but like Edge Animate, it doesn’t come with a setup.exe file. I tried the fix of copying the Photoshop CS6 installer into the Muse setup files folder, but when I try to run it, it just tells me that the installer failed to initialize.
Please help!
Hi, see if one of the suggestions given on this Forums thread helps solve your problem:
Adobe CS6 Installer Fails to Initialize – How to Fix?
Assalam-o-alaikum.
I have got a really big problem.
The Adobe Flash CS3 and other versions do not have that newer name. Now it is called Adobe Animate and has extended capabilities. But I am neither able to upgrade to Windows 10, nor able to install it. I get a stupid crash every single time I try! Or maybe Adobe did a run-time syntax error?
Does ProDesignTools have a free download for Adobe Animate that supports Windows 7?
See the official System Requirements… CS6 generally supports Windows 7, including Flash Pro. Adobe renamed Flash Pro to be Animate in February 2016.
How to run it? Current Creative Cloud subscribers can use earlier versions of the tools if you wish, including going back to CS6 – Adobe won’t force you to upgrade and there is no extra charge.
You just sign in to the software as normal and the older release will be automatically validated and activated. In other words, the installer downloads above are full versions and not 30-day free trials for paid Creative Cloud members.
Note, however, that Adobe considers all releases prior to CC 2018 to officially be “unauthorized.” So keep that in mind if you need or want to use prior versions instead of the latest release..
Note, for people looking installers in for other languages: If you take any of the English links above, copy it and change the Language Set designation to “LS6” near the end, and then paste it into your browser address bar, you will get the Eastern European language set (Czech, Polish, Russian, Romanian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Arabic, Hebrew) for Adobe CS6…
Similarly, changing it to “LS3” at the end (instead of LS1, LS4, or LS7) will give you the Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean language versions (where available for certain tools) for Creative Suite 6.
And “LS2” will give you Japanese.
Hello, I’m on Mojave 10.14.6. Been installing the CS6 apps and I’ve gotten most to work. I can install Photoshop CS6 and install the first update, but it will fail when trying to update to “13.0.2”. I have installed application manager 6.2 but an error still occurs. Has anyone had success with this? Thank you.
I replaced a hard drive over the summer running an older version of macOS and wanted a clean install of CS6 Web & Design Premium, for which I am a registered license holder with Adobe.
Adobe continues to link CS6 Web & Design to my account for download. I have suggested to them — and perhaps others here can consider making the same suggestion? — that they link pre-CC update files to the user account since they all need to be manually installed now. (This would be a desirable workaround in view of the fact that the Adobe community forum references over the years to downloading from https://prodesigntools.com/helpx/download-install.html no longer works for pre-CC updates.)
I appreciate that CS6 and earlier are unsupported products but to break access to updates that would otherwise install — while giving the appearance in the Adobe Application Manager of still communicating quite successfully with their servers for this purpose — is rather ugly on Adobe’s part.
In my case, I ended up on Archive.org over the summer for CS6 manual updates only to realize later that technically I was downloading from a “torrent” which is less than ideal for a licensed user.
So imagine my surprise that the Adobe Update Manager informed me today that my “unsupported” applications are in need of updates? I can’t help but wonder, since the status bar on the download appears to complete the process before erring out, if they aren’t being downloaded to some hidden folder/directory and could be manually launched if I knew where to find them? At any rate, here is what Application Manager 7.0 says I am missing:
Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D207
Adobe Media Encoder CS6 6.0.2 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D207
ProDesignTools is the most helpful place I have found for expertise on Adobe products — so rather than visit Archive.org I thought I would stop by here first. Anybody here know where to find the above?
Thank you :-)
Update to an earlier comment regarding manual updates:
Potentially is there still access to “Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6” and “Adobe Media Encoder CS6 6.0.2” via FTP server? I ask because while most discussions on the Adobe forums about installing updates are outdated, the following took place only this year. It would appear at least some pre-CC Adobe product users are receiving help locating updates, but when I click the ftp link shared by the OP I am prompted to connect as a Guest (not permitted via Safari or FireFox) vs. Registered User (tried my Adobe ID, didn’t work).
https://prodesigntools.com/community/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/source-for-quot-csxs-infrastructure-cs6-quot-dmg/m-p/13886535
Alternately, if SoCalBryan is still around – any luck locating the last of those updates?
Thanks again!
is there still available for download a DesignStandard_CS6 in a Polish language version? probably for Eastern Europe?
Yes, the downloads for Eastern European languages are still available – please see our previous comment just above.
Unfortunately this Adobe update page is not showing anything. Is there a working link for the CS6 13.0.1.3 updater somewhere ?
The file should be called Photoshop_CS6_13_0_1_3_upd.zip
For CS6 updates, an enterprising reader named Bryan has dug through Adobe’s old web archives for all CS6 product update downloads and catalogued them here for Windows and here for Mac.
You might try those and see if you can find what you’re looking for.
Or you could try getting the updated versions directly from Adobe. See this new post:
Here’s the Best Way to Get Adobe Direct Download Links
You guys have helped me once before, but I need your help again.
I recently had to renew my Adobe subscription, and accordingly, nothing has changed, at least when I’m logged into Creative Cloud desktop . . . but now, I can’t access two of the apps that I already installed on my computer through my previous subscription: Fireworks CS6 and Premiere Pro CC 2018.
I am aware that I may have to update to the latest version of Premiere Pro (even though I really don’t want to, since each new version seems to eliminate more and more useful tools), but Fireworks is an entirely different matter. Trying to launch Fireworks continually brings up an error window saying the license cannot be validated, that I have to log into my subscription manager, but my subscription manager shows nothing for Fireworks (though, again, my Creative Cloud desktop shows it’s still installed and active).
I tried your direct download link again, and while it installed, it still can’t be activated: I have no serial number since that came with my Adobe subscription in the first place; I can’t activate with my already-existing subscription because subscription manager shows nothing for Fireworks, and I couldn’t even activate it as a trial version, because again, it shows no subscription for Fireworks.
I know Fireworks has been discontinued for years now, but again, you guys were able to help me keep it in the past before – is there anything you can help me do differently that I can actually use my Fireworks again? Otherwise, I’d have to make the switch to Photoshop, which I know is more or less Adobe’s version of Fireworks, but Fireworks has always been so much more user-friendly.
Hey Joseph, good to see you again. You should still be able to run CS6 and CC 2018 versions with your current Creative Cloud subscription. To our knowledge, nothing in that respect has changed.
First thing, which is easy: Try signing out from Creative Cloud (which deactivates all apps), then rebooting your computer and signing in again.
If no luck, then try all the different suggestions given on this page, including the “Having Trouble?” section at the bottom:
How to Convert Creative Suite 6 Applications to Creative Cloud Membership
This page may also be of help:
Activation and Deactivation Troubleshooting
If all else fails, you can try this (the nuclear option):
1. Uninstall all Adobe app(s) using standard OS procedures.
2. Download & run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, remove the app(s).
3. Reboot your computer (don’t skip this step).
4. Start again from the top by reinstalling the Creative Cloud tool(s) you want.
5. Make sure you are running the installer with full Administrator rights on your machine.
If it’s still not working, then try googling the exact text of the error message(s) you receive (word-for-word), and/or post it here.
Hope that helps!
Here’s an update so far:
I signed out of my Creative Cloud Desktop, rebooted, and signed back in. It shows that while these apps are still installed and can be accessed, both have been converted into trials; Fireworks CS6 a 30-day trial, Premiere Pro CC 2018 a 7-day trial (WTH?)
Both have the options to be licensed, because accordingly, Adobe can’t find already-existing subscriptions of these apps through my account, even though I’ve been using these for years. I can’t license Fireworks because the serial number has expired, so now I have less than 30 days to keep using it in trial mode; however, with Premiere Pro (I haven’t started the trial yet, because only 7 days? Come on), it says I can contact customer service for help.
Also, as it turns out, I can’t update to a newer version of Premiere Pro, or install Photoshop, because my OS is outdated and no longer supported (Windows 7); even Creative Cloud is running in Compatibility Mode.
Creative Cloud trials are 7 days, Creative Suite trials are 30 days – that’s the way it’s been for a while now.
What’s strange is that neither your CC apps nor your CS apps seem to be able to be activated.
Did you try all of the suggestions given in our previous response above? There were a lot of them.
If you’re still not having any success, you might try downloading and running the Adobe Cleaner Tool as mentioned above… The one problem is that direct download links for CC 2018 apps like Premiere Pro have just been taken down by Adobe, so you’d have to already have a copy of the older installer in order to reinstall it after running the Cleaner Tool.
In addition, try the steps on this Adobe help page:
Fix issues while activating or reinstalling legacy Adobe apps
I’m keeping you updated as I go along to check off what option may have worked, and what haven’t. So far, nothing has worked.
I followed the first link you provided, which is how I attempted to convert the Fireworks trial to my Creative Cloud membership, but like I say, I was prompted for a serial number, which I don’t have because the app was originally downloaded through my Creative Cloud membership, and no serial number was provided at the time, and Adobe otherwise says the serial number for it is expired (presumably because Fireworks is a discontinued app). Ironically, Adobe’s help page states that their Creative Cloud apps don’t require serial numbers, and that the issue can be resolved by testing my internet connection (which is fine), making sure my subscription is activated (which it is), confirming my account details (which I have), setting my language settings to International English (pretty sure it is), and making sure my computer’s date and time are correct (date is, time runs a minute or two slow for some reason). So I don’t need a serial number, but I’m prompted for a serial number? Makes no sense.
Another suggestion to reactivate or reinstall legacy apps is to use the “new” sign-in method that requires scanning a QR code, but I’ve never been prompted with a QR code when attempting to sign into either my Creative Cloud desktop suite, or my Adobe account on the web, so I’m not sure how that would work, but that’s another method I’ve tried.
Just about the only thing I haven’t tried yet is the nuclear option you mentioned, but I have the nagging feeling in the back of my mind that it may not work, and then I’d lose both Fireworks and Premiere Pro 2018 altogether, especially since I don’t even know if I do have a copy of the older installer of which you speak; how would I find out if I do?
I doubt Adobe customer service would be of any help in this situation, would they? Granted, they were the ones who helped me renew my subscription altogether, but again, all of this happened afterwards.
Joseph,
No, Adobe Customer Service would be of no help here. The versions you’re referring to are long since out of support.
Officially, Adobe only supports the current release (now CC 2024) and the one prior (CC 2023) for download.
This is called their “N-1 Support Policy,” as detailed here.
As to whether you have copies of these older installers. If you don’t know if you do, then you don’t. You would have had to download and retain the installer files yourself.
The Fireworks CS6 installer is still available in the table above on this page, but as noted, unfortunately Adobe just took down the CC 2018 & 2019 direct download links for the digital video apps.
We would suggest two things:
1) Spend some more time googling with the exact text of the error messages that you’re receiving. This can often turn up a solution, especially coming from Adobe’s helpx pages or Community Forums.
2) If all else fails, then proceed with the Cleaner Tool, but only remove CS6 apps. Download the Fireworks CS6 installer above and keep a copy in a safe place. Reinstall Fireworks and see if that helps with activation.
Well, I guess I’ve just lost Fireworks forever. My “trial” expired today, so I attempted to re-install it from the link in the table above, but it still says the “trial” has expired, and I have to either buy or license the software. Again, its saying Adobe doesn’t recognize my subscription, and I can’t provide a serial number because it says I have no access to their LWS page, and I can’t “buy” it because it’s an app that’s outdated and no longer supported. I guess at this point, I really have no other choice but to wait until I can get a new computer with a new OS and just learn how to use Photoshop instead. Sad day for me; I’ve been using Fireworks since 2005.
In the meantime, I am not starting my 7-day “trial of Premiere Pro 2018 until I know for certain I will be able to finish a current project I have been working on. I have everything backed up, so it wouldn’t be totally impossible to restart and rebuild the project all over again from scratch on a new computer in a new version of Premiere Pro, but that would be more trouble than what it’s worth.
Hi Joseph, in our last reply, we suggested googling the exact text of the error you are receiving. Did you try that?
Just as a general example, we googled “Fireworks CS6 error license cannot be validated Creative Cloud” and the following came up:
Solved: Fireworks asking for Serial Number?
We tried the steps recommended there and they worked for us in order to successfully activate Fireworks CS6 with our valid Creative Cloud subscription license.
So try the ideas suggested there – if it still doesn’t work, then go back to the two things we gave in our previous response above.
Hello, I have downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS6, and it requires a serial key. Where can I find the serial key?
Yes, that’s right… and Adobe no longer sells perpetual Creative Suite software.
However, current subscribers to Creative Cloud can use earlier versions of the tools if you wish, going back to CS6 – Adobe won’t force you to upgrade and there is no extra charge.
In other words, Adobe’s $10/month Photography plan will get you both the latest release of Photoshop as well as Photoshop CS6.
You just sign in to the software as normal and the older release will be automatically validated and activated. In other words, CS6 is not a 30-day trial for paid Creative Cloud members.
So after the free trial is over, you can select which plan you want here:
http://www.ChooseCreativeCloud.com/
Hi Guys,
Need your Help,
On installing Adobe Indesign CS6, I’m asked to provide a serial number (24 digits).
What am I supposed to enter there?
Regards,
Salik
Correct – please see our previous response, just above your comment.
I am trying to download Abobe Photoshop CS6 using the direct links but it just sends me to the main “Apps avaliable for download” page on adobe.com. I folowed the directions and logged into my Adobe account. Any tips?
Hi, please see the important notice at the top of the post above:
Hey guys, I desperately need help, I am trying to find a way to download Adobe Dreamweaver, from any of these three versions, CS5, CS5.5, CS6. From what I’ve read, I believe CS6 is discontinued and I can’t seem to download it here. But I’m not interested in buying any subscriptions or moving to newer versions, I also don’t have any serial codes. I only need free trials since I don’t plan for long term use. Links to download from CS5 and CS5.5 Dreamweaver doesn’t seems safe (according to Chrome). So I was wondering if someone can help me download Dreamweaver. I’m just a student trying to learn basic coding and the school I study in has extremely outdated computers and computer lessons, that’s why I trying my best to survive on scavenging for old versions with free trials. I’m open to all suggestions whether it be downloading from other sites or trying to find a workaround. Hopefully someone replies with good news! I’d appreciate it so so much!
Hey Paul, thanks for writing. Please see our previous response, just above your comment. Unfortunately, we can’t help further than that. The latest version of Dreamweaver in Creative Cloud does offer a free trial.
Good morning!
I have a similar issue with Fireworks and i am dependent on it for many reasons.
The question is, will the Cleaner Tool allow me to reinstall the standalone FW trial version every 30 days?
Thanks!
No. The Adobe Cleaner Tool does not reset the free trial period for Fireworks or any other tool.
However, with a paid Creative Cloud plan, the Fireworks CS6 installer should activate the full version for use during your subscription. You would need to have the “All Apps” plan below to get Fireworks:
http://www.ChooseCreativeCloud.com/
Unfortunately, that won’t work. I have a Creative Cloud subscription, and while it did revert my Fireworks to the 30-day trial, there was nothing I could do after that 30-day trial expired, so I’ve lost Fireworks completely.
Hypothetically speaking, if I were somehow to find a physical copy of a Fireworks CS6 installation CD and attempted to reinstall it on my machine from that, is there a chance that would work? I was still able to install it from a Macromedia CD onto new computers even years after Adobe bought out Macromedia without any complications.
I’ve tried that and it didn’t work. It was telling me I needed a License for FW.
I’ve spent the last hour on the phone with Adobe customer service and although they are very nice and you feel they want to help, they can’t. The official script is that FW is done and they can’t give out any licenses.
Out of desperation, I’ve even looked into license cracks at this stage but can’t find anything safe, though I’ve never been a hacker…
As before, Fireworks CS6 remains available through the Creative Cloud Desktop App provided that “Show Older Apps” is turned on (in Preferences > Apps > Settings):
Adobe’s statement that “Fireworks has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase or support” has been true for some time. Fireworks CS6 was officially “end-of-life” around a decade ago.
In other words, Fireworks is still available for customer download from the Creative Cloud Desktop App, along with other discontinued apps like Muse, Prelude, and Flash Builder.
Typically, an “All Apps” subscription is required to access these older tools. Note there is no support offered from Adobe, nor any guarantee that these apps will install or work properly on newer systems.
However, Fireworks did successfully download, install, and run this morning. It may come up as a 30-day trial, but your valid CC subscription license will be recognized after following these steps:
Solved: Fireworks asking for Serial Number?
These links don’t work – point 1, point 2 done and I’m logged in. Point 4 redirects to download creative cloud 2024 applications, not to files for CS6.
ps. “Hi, please see the important notice at the top of the post above:”
Ok, so what’s the point keeping on this whole link table ?? I returned after years here and i headed straight to links. Just rename “link” to for example “links don’t work” or delete the whole table. It’s confusing for many people.
No matter what we do, it’s going to be confusing for many people. That’s because folks like you rightly come here because we have a long 15-year history of providing the original Adobe direct download links. So, people would still think that even if we took these pages or tables down.
And there will always be visitors who don’t read notices or column headings, etc. If we just deleted the tables altogether, we’d get hundreds of comments and questions, rather than just one per week. It would accomplish nothing and just lead to more confusion. And Adobe’s decision is out of our hands, unfortunately.
Meaning that the only way people learn that Adobe is discontinuing the links is by actually visiting our site again, like you did. And most readers do see the Important notice. So the good news is by visiting these pages, folks can learn what options they still do and don’t have, regarding older versions.
