Adobe just launched the Creative Cloud 2023 release – with hundreds of new features and enhancements to help you get your work done faster through three themes: Precision & Superpowers, Speed & Ease, and Collaborative Creativity. It’s all happening this week at the annual MAX conference, which you can attend virtually (for free) for the third year in a row.
“Creativity for All” is the central motif of Adobe’s mission, and they move closer to this goal as their products become available to more people in more places (Exhibit A: Adobe Express). But they have not lost sight where they came from, as the 2023 generation of Creative Cloud tools includes a multitude of new features and advancements across the entire suite, as well as the appearance of familiar apps on entirely new platforms.
The 17 upgraded CC desktop applications are: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, InCopy, Animate, XD, Fresco, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Character Animator, Media Encoder, Prelude, Bridge, Camera Raw, Lightroom and Lightroom Classic. There’s also a recently-updated version of Acrobat DC Pro, plus these innovations to make creating faster, smarter, and easier than ever:
- Easily collaborate with co-workers using the new Invite to Edit and Share for Review functions rolling out across imaging, design, and video tools.
- New Content-Aware Remove in Lightroom lets you erase anything, fast. Select an object or blemish and Lightroom automatically blends it away.
- With Auto Style in InDesign, you can pop content into a template and watch walls of unformatted words transform into compelling designs.
- Adjust the depth of overlapping elements in seconds with Intertwine in Illustrator. Rearrange text and objects easily without redoing work.
- Amazing new tricks for Adobe Acrobat, now extending to the web by actually running in your browser! See video demo just below.
- Adobe Express, the easy-to-use platform for creating social media, flyers, templates, logos and more, is now being offered free of charge to all non-profits worldwide.
- Adobe continues to expand their Free Stock Collection, adding 85,000+ pro-quality stock videos (with footage in HD and 4K) available at no cost and royalty-free. Head over there and start downloading now!
Some of the major new desktop product features include: enhanced Neural Filters (Photoshop), groundbreaking new Masking features (Lightroom), 2X faster Motion Graphics templates (Premiere Pro), native H.264 encoding (After Effects), new Motion Library with over 350 full-body animations (Character Animator), and Camera to Cloud integrations (Frame.io).
All current Creative Cloud members receive an automatic upgrade to the new 2023 Release, and all of the new free trial downloads are also now live online. As before, the new tools and services are available via budget-friendly annual or monthly memberships. Creative Cloud membership continues to expand around the world, with well over 30 million paid subscribers.

Pricing and Availability
The 2023 release is now shipping and available for download. If you’re not ready for the complete Creative Cloud now (US$55/month prepaid) and prefer just a single application like Photoshop 2023, then you can get any standalone CC tool for $10-$20 a month with what’s known as a Single-App Membership, or (for both Photoshop + Lightroom) the CC Photography Plan.
Education customers still receive a discount of 65-75% off the regular CC prices, for students, teachers, and staff at all levels of school: primary, middle, secondary, college and university… See our guide on how to qualify.
If you need to run the software on multiple computers for a group of users, then Adobe offers Creative Cloud for Teams for the most flexibility and ease of management, plus other significant advantages over the Individual CC offering.
As a Creative Cloud member, all of these just-launched apps and services are available to you immediately. Just download and install the apps from your Creative Cloud account (completely on your schedule), or start using the new or updated services. Everyone else can run all apps for free with a 7-day trial:
