@ProDesignTools
I just looked again at the troubleshooting page…it says that I have a folder in:
The default location of the Plug-ins folder for the 32-bit edition is
C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 or CS4/Plug-Ins.
The default location of the Plug-Ins folder for the 64-bit edition is
C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5 or CS4/Plug-Ins.
I do have this bottom location plug-ins folder BUT I have no folder in the top one by that name. What I do have in C:/Program Files(x86)/Adobe is…Acrobat 10, Adobe, Adobe Bridge CS5.1, Adobe Device Central CS5.5, Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5, Adobe Help, Adobe Utilites – CS5.5, Flash Player & Reader 10.
Is this maybe why I can’t use any of my outside filters? I’ve tried putting them in C:/Program Fiiles/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Plug-ins but they don’t show up…I’ve tried to point them to the folder of my plugins, they still don’t show.
Hello again Linda, not sure why you’re not showing a 32-bit (x86) version of Photoshop. Photoshop CS5 comes in two flavors – 32-bit and 64-bit, and usually both are installed, and you can choose which one to run from your Programs menu.
For example, at our offices here, we have both of those folders – and both a regular Photoshop icon plus a Photoshop (64 Bit) icon to run. Since we have 64-bit systems, we usually choose the latter since it gives significantly better performance.
Plug-ins also are 32-bit or 64-bit, and you can’t mix and match… So, you have to find out what you actually have, and then put the right plugins in the right locations.
If that still doesn’t help, and you don’t have both versions of Photoshop CS5, then try uninstalling and reinstalling it, and then make sure the plug-ins get placed properly – following that troubleshooting page if necessary.
All I see in my “All Programs” menu is the 64-bit version, nothing on the 32-bit…looks like I’m going to have to uninstall & reinstall this, but I sure don’t want to…can’t go on like this, I need my filters! I downloaded it from the website…it took me 4 hours as I only have DSL…thank you so much for the help…
Sure Linda. Before re-downloading, first just try uninstalling it, rebooting, and then reinstalling it – but carefully looking for any options you may have missed to install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions…
Another, entirely different option is to leave your current Photoshop on there but confirm with your plug-in vendors whether what you have is for 32-bit or 64-bit – and then get the 64-bit versions of the plug-ins if you can (most providers do have them available), to work with what you have installed.
We’re suspecting that your current Photoshop is 64-bit while your existing plug-ins are 32-bit – so one way or the other you have to make them match up. Feel free to also contact Adobe about this if you think they can help too. Good luck!
i like adobe
Thanks for the links! I love it!
I am downloading CS 5.5 Master collection , the downloader says it is 5.1 GB but when i check the downloaded file its near 5.3 gb but the downloader is telling it is still (but going) in 80 %.
Hi Vib – guessing you might be on a Mac, or downloading the European versions… The posted file sizes are for the Windows English releases, and do vary for Mac and international – so treat them as approximations in those cases.
@pro design tool. clicking on the link the newly-opened tab told me that i do not have the permission to download the file, could anyone help me?
Greetings Mario, for download help please see this step-by-step list with 9 troubleshooting tips – thanks.
I’m having similar problems as everyone else, and can NOT find a solution. I am running OSX Lion and have tried downloading Adobe Design Standard trial from both Adobe and this site (direct download link) and I get the same checksum error every single time. This is a completely fresh install I am doing (on a brand new MacBook Air) and I’ve also tried to open the .dmg on my 2011 MBP. Nothing works.
Sorry you’re having difficulties Liang. Nobody else has (ever!) reported any checksum errors before on this site, so not sure what’s happening there… But if you have the same issue no matter how you approach it, or whether you go through Adobe site or ours, then our best advice would be to try downloading the software using a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (no Wi-Fi).
Please also see the link to the extensive help list posted in the comment just above yours.
Hi, great idea and great site. Is it possible to post the MD5s of the files as well?
Thanks Hippo for your kind words. Adobe doesn’t publish the MD5 values for any of their trial packages, so we don’t either – but it wouldn’t be a bad idea, considering some of these are quite large files. Thanks for your comment!
Why are the links to this site and not directly to Adobe’s?
Hey there Paco, please see this earlier comment and response on that – thanks.
Thank you SO much ! I was not having any luck with that Download Assistant thingie, and these links were a lifesaver.
I also wish Adobe didn’t break the trial into two separate files, but that is a question for another day. Anyway, the whole thing could be more simple and less complicated.
@ Linda Reynolds
Linda, are you on a Mac? If you are, right on Photoshop.app and click get info, change to 32-bits. That’s how I could use PS on 32-bits.
whenever i try to download the master collection i get this:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/STAM/CS5_5/win32/MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.exe” on this server.
Reference #18.3758dd58.1319304731.1d30f50b
All sorted, worked out that i wasn’t signed in in adobe… Oops!!! ;)
the InDesign is not working? haist.. how will it work?
What seems to be the problem Jaina? It should be downloading fine… have you carefully followed the instructions in the article?
Can you provide the MD5 / SHA-1 Checksum for MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.7z ?
I already downloaded it from adobe but it seems corrupt :(
Yes Shin, the MD5 checksum for that file (Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection, Windows, English, File 2, .7z) is: 3C23F7AD69D8B2DB505396409AA3AC2B
Hi,
Can you please provide the extra content for Visual Communicator as well as a link to the on-premise trial version for Adobe Connect Pro?
Thank you!
I’m sorry Mike, we don’t have either of those and neither appears to be readily available…
However, if someone else does have direct download links for those, please feel free to post them here – thanks.
Hi
I have been having troubles with downloading the Adobe InDesign using the Adobe Download Assistant. Every time I would click download, it would load and then I would get error that said “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.” I used the direct link from this site and I still get the same error.
Can anyone help me?
Hi Aneta, sorry you’re having difficulty. Can you be a bit clearer about what spot the message is occurring? Have you been able to receive the entire downloaded InDesign CS5.5 files onto your computer via the links? Or are you not able to download the files at all? What role does the Adobe Download Assistant play in your problem, if any?
Have you carefully followed each step of the downloading instructions in the article above? Have you temporarily turned off any antivirus, hosts, or cookie blocking software you may have?
If you have been able to get the files onto your system, do you have Administrative privileges to install them? (right-click the .EXE file icon, and select “Run as Administrator…”) Are the files located on the same disk drive that you’d like to install the program to?
Hopefully this will help clarify things and then we can figure out the next step – thanks.
Hi,
I downloaded the Photoshop CS3 files, but when I want to run it, this error message pops up that asks me to close my Yahoo Messenger!! but my Yahoo Messenger is not open!!!
I use Internet Explorer.
Well, you may have closed the main Yahoo! Messenger window, but it’s probably still running quietly in the background… see this page for how to stop it.
when i try to open the master collection one using the extractor it comes up with the message ‘a problem occurred while extracting the archive. please try downloading master collection again.’ and i have both the MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.7z and MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.exe file in the same folder it comes up with the message. i have downloaded both files twice and i have had no luck – any help is welcome!!!
Sure thing Danny – please see this related comment exchange and hopefully that will help.
Also make sure the downloaded files are located somewhere on the same disk that you want to install the programs to.
I have only just discovered this website, but wanted to say that these links are amazing and thanks !!
The Adobe Installer was telling me 25 hours to download Photoshop CS5.5, whereas the direct link was only 1 hr. Fantastic.
Great Rob, glad it worked out! Thanks for the kind words and for letting us know.
25 hours is unbelievable, never heard anything as long as that – we thought Adobe had gotten most of the kinks worked out of the Download Assistant by now, but maybe not.
access denied?
Hello Jaidyn, please make sure you’ve carefully followed the download instructions at the top of the article – thanks.
Thanks guys. The Adobe installer wasn’t working on my Mac.
Thanks a lot. These links helped. :)
@ProDesignTools
Can you give the MD5 Checksum for the Mac version, MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.dmg ?
Greetings Edward, it would be great if Adobe published these things, right? Here’s what we’ve got for that file (Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection, Mac, English, File 1, .dmg): C82236AB25D06E6A2CF725ADEA6F092A
