Hello
Do the links work for you now?
Yesterday they were fine, but today I’m getting “access denied” on Design Standard Windows English and a few more.
In fact I think that Adobe Reader download page has changed, so maybe that’s the problem?
Thanks!
Michal
Hi Michal, thanks for the heads-up. It looks like this morning Adobe changed one of the shortcuts on their site which we used to set their session cookie for enabling the direct links (the Acrobat page you mentioned)… A very rare occurrence that they changed it, but without that cookie being set these links could not function.
Fortunately we were just able to find another shortcut we could use for these purposes – so all the direct download links should now work again. First, be sure to hard refresh your web browser because some of the content on this page has changed. Then just step through the download instructions above once again, and you should be good.
@ProDesignTools
The Safari download manager speaks german to me, so it isn’t exactly the same ;-)
Firefox download manager: You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/STAM/CS5/osx10/MasterCollection_CS5_LS4.dmg” on this server.
Hello again Claudia, confused a bit by this – at first you said the downloads worked but stopped midway though (which we can do nothing about), but now you’re saying you get an “access denied” message which is usually the sign of not carefully following the download instructions given in the article…
Try a different web browser, computer, or Internet connection – and avoid Wi-Fi as it can be slow and/or unreliable.
We also put together a list of download tips for readers who get stuck. These are large files so do sometimes take a few attempts to get complete and intact.
Works just fine, thanks a lot! I don’t get why Adobe can’t keep selling/giving trial versions of their older softwares on their website. Oh and just one thing, if there are two links, I chose the second one, all of the first ones I tried are dead.
PS: forgive my English, I’m French
Sure, you’re welcome. Adobe maintains these CS5 links for those who purchased it four years ago, but otherwise doesn’t offer this software because it’s old and no longer supported, and not as good as the latest release (CC).
Wonderful, thanks a lot! :)
Getting the “access denied” error message after a hard refresh just now. Just bought a new iMac and want to use my Design Standard on it. Photoshop and Illustrator came over fine. InDesign gives me an error message on launch. Nothing listed on the site.It almost entirely launches perfectly then “unexpectedly quits” though I did de-activate it on my old machine and everything. At a loss. Any ideas? Thank you!!
I may have buried my comment in the wrong place. I’m having the exact same problem with the links as the person in the previous comment, even after a hard refresh. Whether I try the full Design Standard suite or the individual InDesign. Migration Assistant brought over PhotoShop and Illustrator CS5.5 fine, but InDesign won’t launch. It goes through the whole process and then say it “quit unexpectedly”. Your help will be most appreciated! Thank you!
Sorry for the comments mess I’m making – feel free to clean me up! I need to mention I am logged into my Adobe Account as I try these links. Sorry for neglecting to mention it. Still getting the access denial.
Oh gosh, please remove all my comments. I finally discovered that an ads tracking program on my Chrome was sending me over to the access denied page. Sorry! It’s downloading as I type. :) See? Your directions above worked perfectly and help me through my own private chaos, lol.
I am having the access denied issue. Tried different browsers. Any ideas?
Hey there Sheena, have you carefully followed the download instructions? (essential, near the top of this page)
For those on new Mac computers who are able to download any of the CS5 programs but are not able to install it once it downloads, you might encounter the message: “‘Install’ can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”
Make sure you turn off Gatekeeper. Gatekeeper options are found in Apple menu > System Preferences… > Security & Privacy > General tab under the header “Allow applications downloaded from:” > change setting to “anywhere”. This will allow your CS5 program to install on your new Mac.
For more info on Gatekeeper refer here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ht5290
Thanks very much Laura. Or as a one-off action, you can try right-clicking on the setup app and selecting “open”… You should get a dialog with a warning about the “unidentified developer,” but may be able to continue and open the app anyway.
I have gone through the directions multiple times, tried several different browsers, and still get access denied. The first time through I forgot to cancel the download so the newest version of Photoshop downloaded…but I uninstalled it and tried to start over. Still no luck. I just got a new Mac and I’m trying to put a few programs on it. I bought CS5 a while back and have my serial number. Please help!
Sorry you’re having difficulties Jessica – it sounds like you’re #9 on this list!
Hi, I am trying to download CS5 b/c I am transferring it from an old Mac to a new Mac. The download link says access denied. Can you please help me.
Hmm.. I’m getting an Access Denied when clicking the CS5 Web Premium English for Mac.
@Sherrie, @Tyler,
For the answer to that, please see our response above to Claudia.
I want the Hebrew version, can you get me that? Thank you!
Hi Meir, here’s more information on the different languages available.
Do you know is the CS5 download is compatible with Windows 8.1? I downloaded the files but I am unable to open the files. They are asking me what program to open up the files with.
It may possibly run, but there could be issues. CS5 comes from a time when Windows 8 didn’t exist, and was not written for it, nor ever tested on it… Since then, Adobe has backtested CS5.5 and CS6 on Windows 8, but not CS5.
So sorry, there’s no definitive answer… And what happens may depend on your particular configuration, etc.
@ProDesignTools
Hey, I tried hard refreshing the page and I’m still denied access to downloading the trial. Tried different browsers too.
Hey Juanny, regardless of which browser(s) you use, you also have to carefully follow the download directions near the top of this page.
Thanks!
After following the instructions carefully, this works perfectly.
Great, glad to hear it Dan – and thanks for being a voice for the silent majority :)
I’m downloading it now, says 2+ hours, is that normal?
Greetings Kelley, the programs all vary in size and Internet connections all vary in speed… So it really depends on those for you.
Here are some estimated download times from Adobe, although note that the chart is a little dated on the available broadband speeds for most people.
Thank you so much! Adobe basically told me my serial number for CS5 was useless, but I’m so glad I found you guys! Thanks again!
That’s great Susanne, glad to help out and appreciate the props.
Hi all,
It took me so long and so much research and chats and calls to FINALLY get here, I wanted to share how I RESOLVED the Access Denied issue.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit here, and I had the same issue. This is what finally resolved it for me:
1- I accessed my Adobe account.
2- I went to https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/photoshop-elements-downloads.html and clicked the “Download Now” button. I then proceeded to download the program (Elements) this link refers to. This creates a cookie in your browser, so just let it run until you get a positive response in downloading the files you came to recover.
3- WHILE the download of Acrobat Pro XI goes on, I clicked on the link for my program (in my case CS5). It started downloading.
4- Seeing that the file was now downloading, I interrupted the download of Acrobat Pro XI. So now all I have downloading is my CS5 file.
5- Accessing the folder I am going through the install now and it’s working well.
Hope this helps someone!
Regards,
Andre Lefebvre
Andre…you’re the new Bossman. Thanks brotha
LOL! Very gracious of you… :) Glad it helps someone!
Andre
Hi there,
First of all thanks for the links. I have downloaded Photoshop CS5 and InDesign CS5, it works perfect.
However I have tried about ten times to download CS5 Design Standard, every time it took me about 3 to 4 hours which is normal, and I got a 5.54GB file which also is fine. But every time I try to install it I get a message, that something went wrong and I shall download the file again. Also I can’t open the DesignStandard_CS5_LS4.7z via 7zip.
I’m using Windows 7, all files I downloaded were “Windows Western Europe.”
Best regards,
Wiktorio
Sorry to hear you’re having troubles Wiktorio… Based on what you describe, it sounds like the file is coming over corrupted or incomplete, perhaps because of the large size.
What is the exact error message you’re getting? It won’t be in English obviously, but if you google that then you might find a solution. Or you can post it here and we’ll see if we can track it down for you.
Thanks for the link! I have a problem though. I am able to download the file, start the installation, it accepts my license number and Adobe ID. However when it starts the main installation process it prompts me to insert my CD/DVD. Earlier in the process it says it will validate my copy online, but seems not… Any one encountered this problem before?
Thanks
Camilla
Hello Camilla, if you happen to get an strange “Insert disc” (DVD / CD) message when installing a CS download, see this forum recommendation to hopefully take care of that.
Hi, I wanted to download the CS5.1 Photoshop (links above, Western Europe, Link 1 + 2) and I get this error message:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/PHSP/12/win32/Photoshop_12_LS4.exe” on this server.
Reference #18.325d0e17.1391708130.89e24e
I tried it in different browsers and I deactivated all security downlooad tools and popup blockers, but it didn’t help.
Can anybody help me to get Photoshop CS5.1 ?
Thanks
Hi Markus, are you carefully following the download directions in the article? If you don’t, you will get that exact message.
