I’ve managed to ‘download’ the links to CS5 and they are showing to be downloading in my download folder but nothing appears to happen. I have a new Mac and a fast internet connection yet they won’t actually download. Any suggestions?
Well, make sure you are following the instructions very carefully… Also you have to be patient because these downloads are very large (typically over 1GB in size), so they will take some time to complete before you are able to proceed. Do you ever have trouble with any other downloads?
Like many others on here my HDD failed and I needed to reinstall CS5 Design Premium. SO many thanks for enabling that. My original was a Student and Teacher edition as I work at a University. It included Adobe Acrobat 9.0 which the downloaded file from this site does not seem include. Any ideas about how I could get that back? I am somewhat hobbled without being able to produce PDFs
Hey Leo, glad to help. Acrobat 9 was packaged separately when CS5 shipped back in spring 2010, and so is linked separately above.
I keep getting an access denied message:
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5/win32/DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.exe” on this server.
Reference #18.a8688140.1386195614.3a70885d
Is this on my end or Adobe’s?
Thanks in advance
Sorry guys, read instructions more carefully. I had assumed that since I was already logged in on main site my log-in cookie would carry over here. Had to download and cancel as suggested in the instructions above. Thanks!
Yes, that’s right Mark – these links will not work unless you carefully follow the important download instructions in the article above.
Then if there are any difficulties, try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (wired, not Wi-Fi) – each time following those directions.
We also put together a list of download tips for readers who get stuck. These are large files so do sometimes take a few attempts to get complete and intact.
“You didn’t say which product you purchased, but some of these CS5 downloads are simply quite large – so if all else fails and it’s seeming too difficult to download from the DDLs, just request the CD/DVD instead and it will be delivered to your home or business in short order. -Prodesign”
Does anybody have a working method to request a CD/DVD of the CS5 master download? I’ll be reformatting my computer soon. Thanks.
No, sorry – you can no longer get discs for old versions like CS5 or even CS6…
You can only order a DVD for the new CC release.
I can’t install my CS5 package, which is annoying. Then the support center guided me to this page and I am having problems downloading and installing the programs…
It’s quite annoying that it’s such a huge task to install something one has paid for already. :D
Kind regards and Happy new year.
Sorry you’re having trouble Niels. Can you give more details? What is the exact message or problem you’re having? Have you followed the download directions very carefully?
It’s hard to help without knowing more about what specifically is not working for you.
when I click on “file” I am directly guided to advertisements and not a page with substance…
Sorry Niels, we have no idea how that could be happening – there are no ads whatsoever, unless you count banners on Adobe’s site. But even that shouldn’t happen… If you don’t carefully follow the directions, then you’ll simply get a newer version downloaded rather than CS5.
Try with a different browser, computer, or Internet connection.
Hi, I purchased Design Premium which came with a separate DVD for Acrobat which I need to install on my new iMac. I can only see a link for Windows version here. Any idea how to get the Mac version?
Hi Allan, wish we could help but we are unaware of the existence of an Acrobat 9 trial download for Mac OS… As far as we know, Adobe didn’t make one available at the time. But if anybody does know if/where one exists, feel free to comment!
We can only offer you the Acrobat X trial download for Mac OS, or the Acrobat XI free trial for Mac.
Hi again,
I managed to find a link for Acrobat 9 Mac.
Terrific Allan, thank you!
We have confirmed that is indeed the Acrobat 9 Pro free trial for Mac OS from Adobe’s servers, and have added it to the CS5 direct link table above.
Thanks again for helping find that!
hello! i downloaded the files i wanted and they all appear “usable,” but i can’t execute them – when i try, a message appears, telling me that there are missing parts of the file.
(i would copy it, but i’m on a spanish based computer, and the translation is really bad to start with).
do you have any idea on how to solve that?
Hola Valentina, for that message please check out this prior discussion with Jake to see if that helps.
when i try to download the After Effects CS5 on Adobe’s website, all it does is download a downnloader assistant. and when i click on it, it will have a list of other programs i can install but i cant find After Effects.
all i want to do is download the program, run it so i can make some intros for my youtube channel, but instead i get a downloader assistant with everything but the program i’m wanting.
is there any website that can help me download JUST After Effects?
Yes Benjamin, it’s the website you’re reading this comment on… In other words, here.
You just have to make sure you carefully follow the download directions given near the top of this page, and you’ll get just the specific program you want – without the Adobe Download Assistant or Akamai Download Manager.
Hi guys, I just downloaded the CS5 standard design version and seems to be working. My only problem is that I have a standard design version student-teacher edition. When I insert the serial number, it tells me that it’s not valid for this product.
Thanks in advance for the help
Marcella
Hmm, not sure why Marcella – these trials should work for any validly licensed product, even the education versions.
What is the exact message it gives you, and have you googled that?
Thank you for providing the direct links – it worked beautifully!
I logged in to Adobe with the ID associated with CS5 before I downloaded the files, and I didn’t have to log in or out – cookie must have been there.
I used Chrome to d/l and the programs works well with Win 8.1 — again a BIG thank you!
That’s great Lindsey, thank you for sharing your experience – it’s always nice to hear from the happy visitors.
Access Denied…
Just read the instructions Michael, or the downloads won’t work (with that message).
It says:
“This serial number is not valid for this product”
:(
Thought it might be because of the education package…
Okay Marcella, check this Adobe Knowledgebase page and see if that helps.
Is this legal? I bought CS5 years ago, but lost the disks. I still have my serial number. But this seems sketchy.
Hey Pat, CS5 is indeed old – but these are the original installers and free trials coming from Adobe’s servers… There is nothing illegal or illegitimate about them.
i try to download anything for example, i tried to download illustrator and this pop came up saying “the file archive part of adobe illustrator cs5 is missing, you need all parts in the same folder in order to extract adobe illustrator cs5, please download all parts.”
what does that mean, i don’t get it and don’t know what to do, i followed all the steps and this still comes up. please help!
Hi Bryan, for that message please follow the steps given in this earlier comment and response.
Hi,
I have a laptop with Windows 8 and I am trying to re-install CS5. I have been able, with help from your tech people (many thanks), to download File 1 (the .7z file) and File 2 (the application file). I have no problem installing File 2 but when I try to install File 1 (.7z), a small window appears asking me which app I would like to use to open the file. The app options include ones such as Explorer, various bits of Windows Office, Windows Pictures and others. None of them seem to be appropriate. How do I install File 1, please. And please keep it simple – I am not an expert computer user. Thank you.
Hello David, you’ve actually got it backwards. On Windows, the first file is always the .exe, and the second one (if listed) is the .7z file. You can see that if you hover your mouse over the links in the DDL table above.
So it sounds like your web browser might have dropped the file extensions when downloading, which happens sometimes especially when using Internet Explorer. And you’re trying to restore them back.
To easily do this, just rename the file(s) to add back the extension(s) at the end.
Then you can run File 1 (the .exe executable) and get started with the installation.
When I click on the link provided for step 1. I get a message that says, “Site Area Temporarily Unavailable.” Is this something I have to wait out since its been a while since I first started trying.
Not sure Sarah, that works totally fine on our end… Is your browser blocking anything or not accepting cookies? Just post back if that issue is still happening for you.
Hello,
I downloaded and installed the Adobe Download Assistant, and followed the directions for the Adobe ID.
I’m not getting any error when I clicked download, but I can’t tell if it’s downloading.
I’m using a late 2013 MacBook and downloading the Production Premium cs5. Any advice?
Sorry Matt, really hard to say. Did you try with a different web browser or computer?
By the way, you don’t need to download or install the Adobe Download Assistant at all… The directions are a bit tricky, but when following them carefully the goal is to download the software without using it (step 3).
Where you able to find a solution, Marcella? I am getting the same error…”This serial number is not valid for this product.”
@Marcella
Every time I try to download CS5 Master Collection for Mac, it hangs at around 1.6 or 1.7GB and then stops. The crazy thing is that it causes my internet to stop working entirely–no webpages will load on any browser. I have to reboot my machine to get the internet working again. I’ve tried downloading with Firefox, Safari, and Chrome with the same result each time. This is the weirdest thing ever, and I’m stumped. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Wow, that is the weirdest thing ever Brooks, sorry to hear it… We’ve occasionally heard of incomplete or hanging downloads before, but nothing ever consistent or pervasive. Wish we could help more, other than suggesting to try a different computer and/or Internet connection!
hey guys
i managed to download all the Illustrator CS5 files (1+2 ENGLISH and even the 1+2 Western Europe files) – but when i click on it, it says i need more files? but which ones?? any suggestions?
Cheers
Hey there Dan, what is the exact message you get? We’d need to know that to really help further – thanks!
Hello,
I migrated data from a MacBook to a MacBook Pro, but the CS5 programs don’t open on the new Notebook. So I tried the way you offer here. I’m sure I read the instructions carefully! But after selecting the Download Now Button only the Download Assistant starts. No asking for ID. Firstly the Download seems to be okay, but after about 1,5 GB the download doesn’t continue. What’s wrong?
That’s odd Claudia, you seem to be the second person this week… We and most visitors have no problems, but see our suggestions above to Brooks.
P.S. – The Safari Download Manager says “You are not authorized to use the program” or something else.
Is that the exact message? Nothing comes up on Google for that… But it doesn’t matter, because if the file isn’t completing downloading, it won’t work regardless.
