I’m trying to install CS5 Design Premium on my new MAC Retina laptop (the old one’s display backlight died). I am able to download the package from your website (the US version, European version doesn’t download). I can launch the installer, it says CS5 and looks fine. It recognizes my license too. However, when it asks to select what I want to install, it reports only CS3 & CS4 are found and that my license is for CS5. What’s up? Can you provide a link to the CS5 Design Premium that I can download?

Hi Dave, it’s above – and that’s confirmed… Not sure why you’re not seeing CS5 when you install, that’s puzzling. It works here.
Both the English and the European versions here download fine as well. Perhaps you got a corrupted download – maybe try again using a different browser, computer, or Internet connection? (avoid Wi-Fi)

Yeah those were the things I tried – and nothing worked. I did it though, suddenly it just worked, so I can’t say why. I am a former nerd, so I know that sometimes you just have to do things again and again to make them work.

Yes, that’s right Matthew – per the essential download instructions given in the article, you need to visit Adobe’s regular trial page first in order for these direct links to work.
Then if there are any difficulties, try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (wired, not Wi-Fi) – each time following those directions.
We also put together a list of download tips for readers who get stuck. These are large files so do sometimes take a few attempts to get full and intact.

Are there any other links to download the files? I’m trying to download CS5 MC Mac and after clicking the link, it shows this information:
“You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/STAM/CS5/osx10/MasterCollection_CS5_LS4.dmg” on this server.”
I tried Firefox, Safari and IE. All with the same problem.

Why don’t you have Acrobat 9 for Mac??? That’s the one I need – my CS5 seemed to download from my backup, but Acrobat did not…
Sorry Amy, it’s out of our control – Adobe simply did not offer a Mac OS trial version for that old release of Acrobat…
We do however have direct links to the trial downloads for Acrobat XI and Acrobat X.

Hi Sana, no other website is safe for trying to download, except direct from Adobe’s servers like here…
You just have to make sure to very carefully follow the important download instructions given in the article above, near the top of this page – otherwise you will not be able to access the Adobe DDL (and you will get the exact message you said).
Okay, so I’m trying to download and install CS5 Design Premium. I’ve got the files, but when I launch it says that it’s missing the archive file. Help?
Hey there Kimberly – make sure you’ve got both files downloaded completely, in the same folder, and on the same disk where you want to install the software to.
Then if you’re still getting that message, follow the steps given in this earlier comment and response.

I was wondering, why every time I try download the 4.3 GB file from Illustrator (Western Europe, File 2), my download skips at 2.3gb, 4.29gb or else (I tried several times).
But unless I have the complete archive, the installer refuses to execute.
Can you tell my, why I could have this problem?
Not sure Anton, it looks like you are in Germany – so perhaps it’s something with your connection internationally… Definitely avoid Wi-Fi and try to use a stronger/faster Internet connection, because there is no way you can proceed with installing the product without having a complete intact download of the file(s).
You might also try again using a different browser or computer, or perhaps your own download manager to try to smooth or speed things along.
Hi, I have Polish licence for Adobe Design Premium CS5 and I lost my DVD. I can’t find the download link to the Polish CS5 trial.
Can anyone help me? I don’t want to use an illegal version.

I have downloaded the cs5 design premium files. I extract them, but then the screen to put in my license number does not appear. What do I do? I tried to extract them a second time and it did that, but there is not new prompt screen after that.
Hey Page, these are all free trial versions, so after installing and when starting the programs they should all prompt you at some point to either begin a 30-day trial or enter your valid serial number…
If that doesn’t happen, it may be that the software picked up an existing license key from an earlier installation of the same product stored on your computer.

Thank you ProDesign for response, but it did not help me.
When the link is the English version for Design Premium, everything is fine and a file is downloading.
But when I use the technique to change the link URL to end with “_LS6”, then I get a “File not found” error :(
I’m using Gimp for now and it is not bad program but I have to work on some PSD files and Gimp can’t handle them the way in need.
(Btw, the LS2 link is fine for me but it is Japanese…)
Sorry about that. For some reason it appears that most of the CS5 suites are not available in the eastern European languages…
However, there may be a workaround. Master Collection above definitely is available in Language Set 6… You might be able to download the full Master suite here and then enter your valid Design Premium serial number, and only the (subset of) Design suite apps would be activated.
If you try that, let us know how it goes.
I got this InDesign CS5 download to work last week. I have to redownload it. I’ve downloaded the zip file OK. What’s the next step? Tom
Hey Tom, on Windows you need both files, the .exe and the .7z file… Then run the .exe and it will extract/create a new Adobe folder on your Desktop.
In that folder you’ll find the installer for InDesign (or whatever you downloaded)… Run that, and the tool will then install on your system.
Hi, I have a licence for Adobe Design Premium CS5 and I lost one of my installer disks. I downloaded the CS5_5 Design Premium and followed the directions, but I get error message… “install” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer… Downloaded this disk image…from prodesigntools.com.

Hi Sandy – according to this Adobe Help Forum, that message is not due to the download or the file, but rather a setting on your computer.
I’m in the USA and tried to download the two links for Illustrator. I’m going to just go ahead and try elsewhere (even with the possible risks). The links for Illustrator are dead.
All the links here work fine Sarah, you just have to carefully follow the instructions in the article.
We strongly advise against doing what you said: that is, trying to download these old files from anywhere else besides direct from Adobe’s servers (like here).

When the download fails due to a server problem what needs to be done to make the links download? I tried downloading CS5 design premium as well as CS5 Illustrator. The results were the same.
My download of CS5 Adobe Design Premium was unsuccessful. The error message I received is “the archive is either in unknown format or damaged.” I believe I followed the directions: I turned off my internet security software and firewall, turned off pop up blocker, downloaded adobe download assistant and acrobat, and I saved both of the provided links for windows cs5 design premium to my desktop. I have a Windows 8 and I used mozilla firefox browser..
Thanks for posting the exact message… That is not an Adobe message. It sounds like you are using some third-party utility to extract the archive file. You don’t need to do that; instead just use the .EXE that comes with the Windows files above. Everything is self-contained.
If you still get a message when doing that, then feel free to post back.
But if you google the message you posted, it indicates a high likelihood of a partial or corrupt downloaded archive file (.7z).
The first time I tried to open the .7z file.
This time I attempted to open the .exe and it opens up a browser window that reads “You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5/win32/DesignPremium_CS5_LS1.exe” on this server.

I read the instructions and saw previous comments. I don’t understand what’s going wrong here.
I saved both links under a users folder. When I located them I noticed the size of both files say 1 KB. That is a very small amount which does not seem right for the size of any software. It says one is an html document and the other a winrar archive.
Well, no .EXE program should ever open up in a browser window. And while the .EXE is a small file (~1200 KB), the .7Z file is always quite large (sometimes multi-gigabytes). Finally, none of the download file types here are HTML documents.
So, there’s definitely something wrong on your end. It’s possible your browser may have dropped the extension on the first file, which could be why your system sounds confused. If so, then see this solution.
I am stuck. I followed your instructions and read all the troubleshooting but I cannot get CS5 to download. It moves to my download folder but then nothing happens, and I kept it going overnight with no progress at all. I then uninstalled the adobe download assistant, changed all the cookie preferences again, and then reinstalled it with no luck again. Any more tips would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry Rachel, not following you 100%… What system and application are you using? Do the file(s) finish actually downloading to your computer? What happens exactly when you try to run the downloaded file? Are you getting any error messages?

Was trying to download Flash cs5.5 trial but took me to a dead link. Also I did Save link as and the file was 1k. Is there another way to download?
No, this is it. The links all work fine on our end, just tested them and none are dead. Try a different web browser, computer, or Internet connection (not Wi-Fi).
Hi PD – I did what i thought was advised, was logged into Adobe Free account, downloaded files 1 & 2 for CS5 ( English ) which downloaded ok. Set them in the same folder, and the zip folder size was 1,002,241 kb (978mb) so it seemed that it was big enough to be all there, but when i right click the folder Photoshop_12_LS1 > extract all > same folder, Windows XP extraction wizard just sits there like its waiting to start and never extracts anything. The progress bar doesnt even start – any ideas buddy ?
Hey Pete, you shouldn’t ever have to extract anything manually or run any separate utilities… On Windows, you just download both files (when there are two there), and then run or double-click the .exe file. It does the rest.
