If you have the Photography package and you sign up for the All-apps bundle, then it should register it as an upgrade with the same email address and switch you over, at least that’s my impression.

To get the current sale, it has to be first time with the All-apps plan on the address you’re using, I believe. At least that’s what I was told by Adobe customer service.

  2. How cruel of you to send me an e-mail claiming worldwide discount, only to exclude one EU country from Black Friday sales. I’m so tired of your ongoing discrimination, I will raise this issue with my EU representatives. Please don’t treat people poorly based on where they come from. It’s discriminatory, unethical and quite frankly, hurtful.

    • The sale is worldwide everywhere that Adobe offers direct sales to customers. We are not Adobe, but we’re sorry the company is not yet selling Creative Cloud directly in the country where you live… The list of where CC can be purchased is now up to 94 countries (see the Country Availability List) and always growing larger.

However, if you happen to have a billing address and form of payment (including PayPal) that is based in any one of those other countries where Adobe offers their products online, then you should still be able to purchase CC direct – even if your home address is elsewhere…

[Note that your Adobe ID needs to be associated with the same country as your credit card or billing address, so if it isn’t then you may have to create a new Adobe ID.]

Thanks for your reply. I do not have a billing address in another country, but I appreciate you trying to help.

It’s not just that we can’t buy directly, it’s that we cannot buy individual plans or student/teacher plans at all. We do not have the option of monthly payments or subscriptions. We are excluded from sales and discounts. The only thing we can get is prepaid yearly plans for Teams, and we have to pay MORE for it than people in the US, despite having a much lower standard of living. It’s way too expensive for most people here. So I think you can understand why it’s so hurtful to those of us who dream of being designers. No other EU country is treated this way.

Anyway, thanks for your help. I hope all the lucky people that are not excluded make the most of it :)

    • Sorry the news isn’t better where you are. Please know that Croatia is definitely not the only country. If you look at Adobe’s list of countries where CC is sold, you’ll see that currently there remain many nations in the same situation. Fortunately, the company continues to expand the geographies where Creative Cloud is offered direct & online with all plans.

    • “Fraud”? Um, how so? Don’t think so.

Generally speaking, Black Friday deals give the discount to the customers who are buying the product or service now, not folks who purchased previously. This isn’t just true for Adobe, but throughout the economy. Tons of companies have introductory promotions for new customers.

Nobody in our office has ever received a new Black Friday discount for any provider’s product or plan that was purchased in the past. Holiday specials are generally for folks making new or first-time purchases. And many current CC subscribers did receive a lower promotional price for their initial year.

But if you can find any Black Friday promotions out there from any merchant anywhere in the marketplace that offers new discounts to existing or previous customers of their product or service, then please let us know.

That said, there is still one unusual twist here. We did mention in the article how if you bought Creative Cloud within the past couple of weeks, then you may still be able to take advantage of Adobe’s Black Friday offer. See above for more details.

One nice thing that current CC customers received recently are brand new tools added to Creative Cloud in the 2020 release, in addition to hundreds of new features for existing apps.

Here are the official terms of the BF deal:

Creativity for all. Savings for all.
Get 40% off the next generation of Creative Cloud. Students save 70%.
New apps. New features. New ways to create.

Offer available to first-time subscribers of Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps and limited to customers who purchase directly from the Adobe Store… Purchase Adobe Creative Cloud for Individuals All Apps subscription for 40% off the retail price US$359.88/year (US$29.99/month) (plus applicable taxes/VAT/GST). The standard retail price for Creative Cloud for Individuals All Apps is US$635.88/year (US$52.99/month) (plus applicable taxes/VAT/GST). Limit: 1 per customer. Requires a 12-month subscription commitment. At the end of your offer term, your subscription will be automatically renewed at the standard subscription rate, unless you elect to change or cancel your subscription.

    • PS – Just occurred that there may be another possibility for existing Creative Cloud customers, although we cannot confirm if this will work for you…

If you want to avail of the 40%-off discount offer for CC, did you try just going through the process of purchasing the Black Friday plan (click “Buy Now” here) while you are logged in with your current Adobe ID, and see if it will extend your plan by just adding on an additional year to your subscription at the reduced price?

Or if you want to upgrade from a smaller plan (like the CC Photography or Single-App options) to the “All Apps” complete package (which is what is currently on sale now), then in theory this should be possible:

How to Upgrade and Change from One Creative Cloud Plan to Another

No guarantees but seems worth a try, anyway.

  4. Hello,

I have 6 months left on my current plan with Adobe cloud!

I was chatting with Adobe live chat, but they were super tight – they gave me two options, which are:

1- Keep your current plan, which is going to end in May 2020.
2- Cancel it and throw it away, to be able to get this offer “Blackfriday.”

I am really confused about this, very hard situation…

The most important part is that if I get rid of 6 months now & buy it again today, then I’ll be able to catch blackfriday every year …

    any suggestions please?

    • Well, we can only tell you what Adobe’s cancellation fees would be for an Annual plan… According to the Creative Cloud Subscription and Cancellation Terms:

You can cancel your subscription anytime via your Adobe Account page … If you cancel within 14 days of your initial order, you’ll be fully refunded. Should you cancel after 14 days, you’ll be charged a lump sum amount of 50% of your remaining contract obligation, and your service will continue until the end of that month’s billing period.

So in your case, if you were to cancel your current plan with 6 months remaining in your subscription, then the early-termination fee would come to half of that amount (3 months).

Adobe’s current holiday offer is for 40% off the regular price, which effectively works out to almost 5 months free of the first year.

Again, the deal is officially for first-time subscribers to Creative Cloud All Apps, but it sounds like the company was saying you could cancel and then re-sign-up again.
