I just want to know if there are any new nasty surprises like the last ones had. Specifically, are they changing keyboard commands for common tasks again (like they did for constraining zoom in photoshop, and zoom out in illustrator), because that is a deal breaker for updating.
No, we haven’t heard of anything like that – in fact, in this new 2020 release, Adobe actually now gives users the option to change your transform behavior setting (either proportional or non-proportional scaling) on the fly, and this setting is sticky going forward:

Why does Adobe insist on playing this stupid game every year? Just release the installers on the same day as the software release. 😠
I have a very slow internet connection, but my friend has 150 Mb/s. Therefore I always download the huge installers via him. At my home, it would take up to 5 days.
We hear you Zdzislaw, and it’s people like you who are absolutely the reason we fight so hard for Adobe to continue providing direct download links for their products! All too often – especially in rural, remote or developing areas – a strong, fast and unlimited Internet connection is simply not the reality, and either not affordable or not available at all.
So thanks for sharing your experience. There are many customers like you who simply cannot use (or afford) the Creative Cloud Desktop app for one reason or another to maintain their software, and this is another critical reason why direct download links are absolutely needed.

Hi Anna, as of this writing, the current release of Adobe Acrobat Pro is DC 2019.021.20049 – and we can’t say any more than that.
However, you’ll be happy to know that this version is definitely available now via standalone/offline installers:

Also, of course, all Acrobat paid subscribers at the time when Acrobat 2020 ships will receive a free upgrade at no additional cost.

Want to give my money to Adobe, but can’t download!!! Only way that works for me is via Direct Download. Went through everything suggested, to try and get the CC App working, but nothing worked. Multiple times. It wouldn’t be quite so bad if I wasn’t getting inundated with ads telling me to try the new release. Love the software! The Company? Not so much. :)

You all have nothing to apologize for. Adobe is the one who needs to be apologizing for alienating those of us who still want to be customers.
Thanks for all the info. My reason for using a direct link ( thanks to you ) is that the Creative Cloud desktop App is just not helping with PS, keeps giving an error code though works with all other programs.
Hey Peter, what error code is the CC Desktop app giving you? Adobe has made efforts to gradually improve it over the years, but ongoing reports indicate that it still clearly doesn’t work for all customers.
I wish, like Peter, I did get an error code. I would feel more hopeful. My problem is ALL downloads, of any program the CC App is working on, hang at or near 50% completion. Because I download LARGE, multi GB, files from others (graphic programs and graphic resource files are notoriously HUGE) without problems other than the time it takes, (something I have learned to live with long ago), I believe this is why it does not work for me. I have said this to Adobe via multiple ways. I don’t think they believe me. This is why I started using the Direct Links in the first place, before 2020 was released. I live in a rural area of southwest VA, very poor (and slow) Internet speeds. (1.5Mbps – at best, less than that most often.) If the server I am accessing, or the download method a program (like the CC App) uses to manage downloads doesn’t have a manual way of resuming a timed-out download, I have to keep starting over at the beginning. Sometimes it eventually works. Most times not. The last three MAJOR updates with PS were only possible for me by direct download. So this is NOT a recent problem. That’s all I am asking Adobe for, the ability to resume a timed-out download. However my system handles the Direct links, it does not get the same problems with time-outs that the CC App does.
Wanted to add that before the 1.5Mbps, we still had dial-up! (Or if you could afford a Satellite dish, with all its limitations.) At first it seemed like we were in Heaven! ;) Today? Maybe Purgatory. :)
Yep, you are the key type of customer who absolutely needs these – users in rural/remote areas or those with poor/slow or unreliable Internet connections… It’s not uncommon at all to be in your shoes, or have to pay per MB of download over a costly cell connection, or to be capped at a certain limit of bandwidth per month, etc. All these situations make it prohibitive or impossible to download 20 GB of CC upgrades the suggested way.
There are also other important reasons as well – which is why we keep fighting for industry-standard offline installers for Creative Cloud 2020 to be released asap!

This site is always click bait. You are generating traffic surely…. but you are fake as hell. Why can’t you ever provide the links you say you have in your title. We just need the direct download link for 2020… Not all this talking.
Well, perhaps because Adobe has not released the Creative Cloud 2020 direct download links yet?
Which means that regrettably we cannot just “provide the links” for you at this time – and is why the post title actually says “Update on …” rather than anything else.
In other words, we thought you’d like to know the status of what’s going on with these. Do you disagree?
Most readers appreciate our ongoing advocacy for these much-requested resources, and our continued efforts with Adobe to help make them available.
Exhibit 1: The CC 2019 direct download links, which actually started out the same way (unavailable), but were eventually released after ongoing discussions:

Before the advent of the Creative Cloud (CC) suite of applications, Adobe used to announce and release the download links for the Creative Suite (CS) applications on the same day.
In fact, the official CS download links often got leaked a few days in advance of the official launch and announcement of the latest CS applications (and even before ProDesignTools had the links). Those were the times to cherish.
Sadly those days are gone, and we the paying consumers now suffer the indignity of waiting months (and in previous years, sometimes a year or two) before the CC download links are officially made available.
Adobe have taken us for a ride over the last eight years or so since the inception of the Creative Cloud, but there is almost nothing we can do as Adobe has a monopoly in the creative content industry.
Just hope and pray the CC 2020 links come before Xmas – Christmas 2019 that is, rather than Christmas 2020.

Contrary to your misinformed and misguided opinion that this site is click bait, ProDesignTools is THE premier site to gain insights into acquiring Adobe applications (legitimately), and how best to make use of the power within these applications along with one’s creativity through e-books offered here.

It should be obvious to all that have followed this site for many years that ProDesignTools has a direct relationship with Adobe, thus any information given on this website is directly from the horse’s mouth.
ProDesignTools is an invaluable resource for all that use Adobe software, however Micah, you appear unimpressed with the good work ProDesignTools does on our behalf to ensure the users’ concerns are heard by Adobe. I suggest you try and attempt to get your voice heard and acted upon in Adobe’s forums ( community.adobe.com ) – you wouldn’t get a response.
Keep up this excellent resource, ProDesignTools. Don’t be disheartened by Micah Berkley. I, along with many many more here truly appreciate you advocating on our behalf.
Hi, thanks so much for your kind words – they mean a lot!
I have the same problem – all attempts to download the new PS and LR Classic using the CC desktop on both my PCs have failed (and Adobe tech support couldn’t do it either).
The problem is that one of the things Adobe tech support suggests (and does) is to delete all CC apps and start over again (and that also failed).
Then, the only way to get PS and LR Classic on my computer again is via the 2019 direct downloads – but those are old versions, e.g., the LR classic direct download is version 8.0, whereas the last CC 2019 version I had running is 8.4.1.
So, now I’m stuck with an LR Classic version that doesn’t have some important features I’ve been using, e.g., Texture.
I understand that the direct downloads for the new LR Classic (version 9.0) and PS 2020 are not yet available, but is there someplace that I can get a direct download of the last versions of the 2019 CC apps, specifically LR Classic 8.4.1?
As you may be aware, we’ve posted offline installers for the previous major release here:

All of those are for the early CC 2019 releases which came out over last fall and winter. Adobe has not released the offline installers for any additional updates to these applications (as they did for previous versions like CC 2015).
In other words, there are no further product patches/updates available at this time for that release. However, we continue to stay in contact with the company about making direct download links available for more CC versions now and going forward – and in particular, being able to access the last, fully-updated revisions of a given release.
Sorry the news isn’t better right now, but we are working on it!
PS – We really love the new Texture control in Lightroom/ACR as well – and would miss it if it were suddenly not available!

In other words, all direct downloads can be activated for ongoing use without having to reinstall the software.

I know the direct links are only temporary, and by direct personal request to Adobe Customer Service, but I’ve no doubt this is in major response to all the work you folks have been doing behind the scenes. So thank you! And I hope all of you have a wonderful Holiday season! (I started my cloud subscription back, now that I can get direct links from Customer Service! 2020 Apps? Here I come!!!)

Also, we asked our Adobe rep if Creative Cloud free trial users would also be able to get the 2020 direct download links, and he said: “sure, please ask them to reach us and we will help them.”
So our understanding is as long as someone has signed up for the 7-day trial (with a free Adobe ID), then the offline CC installers would be provided as needed… (In addition to paid subscribers, of course.)

Thanks for the tip on that, I might just bite the bullet and do that.
Please note that some of the staff might not have read the memo for this. Please be patient with them if you need to explain things a bit further. The first person I spoke with was not yet aware of this agreement. After some discussion, they did speak with someone who told them this was an arrangement. They quickly were able to get me the links for the 2020 apps.
Indeed, this is brand new and just out, so some Adobe reps may not be as well-informed as others…
However, we have absolutely verified this is true and possible – it’s now official Adobe policy – so we recommend being politely persistent and/or trying again if the first agent you get does not seem to be aware yet.
