  1. Honestly, I think Creative Cloud has both benefits and downsides. On the one hand, over time it can cost more than simply buying standalone packages (especially for students, or if you only need a specific package), but if you’re paying full retail price for Master Collection and upgrading at every launch, it does distribute the price nicely. The online storage is great for collaboration, and extra services like Adobe Story are very useful for film work.

  2. Is there an option for paying annually, or is it only a monthly subscription? This sounds like an awesome resource for people who don’t want to pay for an actual CD, or use laptops that don’t have CD-ROM drives; like the MacBook Air.

    Thanks for running this contest.

  3. I would love to try out Creative Cloud. It evens out as far as price goes when comparing to having to purchase upgrades for every new release when buying the actual software rather than paying for a subscription.

  4. I have never used Adobe Cloud but have used other cloud services. As an Adobe standalone product user, I could see it as beneficial in that it offers access to other Adobe services. I would be concerned about the value:cost ratio for times that I don’t use it very often and paying a monthly fee.

  5. Creative Cloud looks like a great way for people to get a taste of Adobe, without necessarily paying the large amount of money for a full version.

    Thanks…

  8. I volunteer my time a lot whenever someone needs logos, videos, pictures, etc. I also use these a lot for school, every year I enroll in at least one business graphics design class. Last year I took a web design class in which we used Dreamweaver CS4. I wanted to continue exploring it, but the course ended and I couldn’t afford to buy it. I use Photoshop a lot as well, I edit photos for my technologically-challenged mom, I made a logo for my junior firefighter group, and I mess around on it when I’m bored. Anytime I was put in a group in school, I was the one who did anything on the computer. I once made a commercial for an invisible cape that involved a lot of floating objects that I wouldn’t have been able to stimulate if it weren’t for the school having Adobe CS4.

  9. I think this subscription model is great for Adobe and companies that need this software but don’t want to deal with licensing issues.

  10. I have never really understood what Creative Cloud is all about. Is it just a subscription-based Creative Suite? And why is it called Creative Cloud? What part of it is cloud-based?

  11. Could you ever find a price for us retired folks? Something like students. I used the Adobe products for as long as they have existed. As are retired designer I work on private projects, for family and as a volunteer. The cost is just beyond my reach.

    • Welcome Don, thank you for your thoughts. We’d love to be able to say yes, but at this time Adobe does not offer special pricing for seniors or retirees – the discounts are extended only to current teachers and students (within six months).

However, if you wanted to consider enrolling for a class at your local community college or similar institution, then you could well qualify to buy these products at the much lower student prices, up to 80% off… And for the Creative Cloud, the education discount is 40%.

Sorry the news isn’t better off the bat, but thanks for asking!

  12. I think Adobe Cloud is amazing! It will give lots of people the opportunity to get hold of these amazing programs that were way too expensive earlier. Always having the latest and updated programs without having to buy new upgrades is awesome too!

  13. CS4 broke the bank, and while I can still get the work out, those few touches of love from the CS6 beta was like adding nitrous! After the trials and betas ran out, I actually feel bogged down in CS4. Don’t worry, I’ll still be the starving artist type (does that still apply when you’re fat?), just with a better workflow. Oh, and I’ll like be your friend and stuff.
