plz help
Welcome Pankaj, we just tested the links again on this end and they all work OK… Have you carefully followed the download instructions above? That’s the kind of thing that will happen if Adobe doesn’t recognize you as being logged in (which sets their session cookie on your browser).
Or if you’ve done all that, then clear your browser cache/cookies and try again – or try a different browser, computer and/or Internet connection.
oh i am sorry, i forgot to repost. some 20 minutes after posting these comments i tried again, and everything is perfect.
Great to hear, thanks for following up and letting us know!
Is it possible to install photoshop elements 9 and photoshop cs5 on same computer at same time…?
Yes Pankaj, definitely – in fact, we have them both running on the same machines on our computers here!

Hey there Hale, please see the question and response from Pankaj just up at the top of the comments – thanks.
great n thankkssssssssss prodesigntools.com
I have been trying to update my Photoshop Elements 9 so I can open raw files from my fuji hs30exr camera. When I download and try to run the update, I keep getting a error in the Adobe Application Manager. I have downloaded and reinstalled the manager and update numerous times.
I was wondering if this direct download version of Elements 9 has the required files for the newer cameras already installed? If so I will delete my old version and reinstall with this one.
Reg O
Good question Reg, but no – these are the original Elements trials that will then download new updates after initial installation…
If you’re having an issue with your existing install, you might search/check Adobe Support to see if that turns up any answers.
Thank you for the quick reply. I tried to to talk to phone support, but when I told them it was a question about Elements, I was told this was not covered by free phone support and I would have to pay to get help. I may phone back and tell them the problem is with the Application Manager, maybe this is covered.
Thanks again.
If I can’t get the Elements to work, I will have to learn to like the fuji raw converter I guess, even though I find it to be a bit slow.
Reg, what is the exact error message it gives? If you google that, or search the support site with the text of the problem then that often turns up an answer.
I have tried to download PSE9 for mac. It finished downloading and I went to click to open to install and I got an error message of ‘the following disc images couldn’t be open’ and it has PSE9 and says the reason is ‘not recognized’ Anyone know how to make this work? I have no idea where to go from here and everyone I ask has not a clue either.
Hi Alex, according to Apple Support Communities, that error message “dmg not recognized” typically indicates a corrupt or incomplete download. See some of the tips suggested to other commenters above, but most important probably for you would be to try to use a different (stronger and faster and more reliable) Internet connection (with a cable and not Wi-Fi).
Sorry I don’t get it to work, I have tried on different times throughout the day.
Sorry you’re having difficulties Joel. We just re-tested all the links on this page and they continue to work fine on our end… Did you carefully follow the download instructions given in the article?
If still no luck, then try a different browser, computer and/or Internet connection.
Trying to install Elements 8 on a new Windows 7 computer. Get an error message saying that I need to deactivate the previously installed program. But the old computer’s hard drive failed. Please help, thanks.
Greetings Ed, please see the solution for that problem here. Good luck!
I am having no problem downloading the two PSE9 files, but “File 1”, which is the *.exe, seems to download a 1.16mb file and wants to know what to open it with when I double click it. Ideas?
Hi Brad, it sounds like maybe you lost the file extension when direct downloading the program… Sometimes that happens if you use Internet Explorer – it will drop the “.EXE” off the end of the Windows executable file.
If so, then you just need to rename the file to add that extension back to the end of that filename – and then double-click it to get started with the trial installation.
Thanks………….that worked.
Great Brad – glad to hear it and thanks for letting us know.
I am having problem downloading both files for windows. I followed the instruction but the download progress didn’t move even an inch. Please ProDesign help me.
The problem solved itself. I didn’t know why. Thank you ProDesign for the article.
Thank you ProDesign. Really make my day. Was getting desperate to recover my whole system and re-install all my programs. Thank you :)
You bet Beng, glad to help and also to hear a happy-ending story like yours – thanks for letting us know!
I am trying to install photoshop elements 9 for mac. The download bar is not moving..
What should i do..
Hey there Anshul, you might try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (not Wi-Fi).
it worked.!!!
thank you…
i tried a different browser.
Great, glad to hear it – and thanks for letting us know.
I can download the files, but they don’t install. Gives me an error: “A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and write privileges on the destination folder.”
I’ve tried downloading from different browsers, firewall off, no antivirus, installing from a different admin account, deleting all temp files, changing save locations, changing install locations, I downloaded the 7z archiver and when extracting the files that way it says they’re all broken.
My system is way above min reqs and I have 200gb of free space on the drive. Any suggestions?
Hello Liam, did you try a different Internet connection? What speed do you have and how solid is it? Are you trying to use Wi-Fi? These are large files so you want a reliable service.
Also make sure that both of the downloaded files are in the same folder on the same hard drive that you wish to install the software to. That is, don’t try to install from one disk to another.
Hello, I’ve been trying to download the Photoshop Elements 9 for Windows for hours! It will download but when I try to open it, it says,
“The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. Please download all parts.”
What should I do?!
Hi Shayla, sorry you’re having difficulties. Please make sure you are downloading both (two) files for Windows (File 1 and File 2) – and that they have an “.exe” extension and a “.7z” extension on your computer.
Put them both into the same folder on your system before running the .exe, and make sure that folder is on the same disk drive as where you want to install the final program to.
Also make sure you have a solid and fast Internet connection (avoid Wi-Fi as it can be unreliable) because these are big files and you want to get them intact and without any download errors.
Hope this helps!
My HD failed and I’m reinstalling Elements 9 (licensed). I’ve downloaded the install files. What app do need to open them?
Greetings Carlos, just run (double-click) the .exe file, following the guidelines given above.
Sometimes web browsers (especially IE) will drop the extension from the .exe file, so if that happened then you may need to manually rename it to add it back.
When I try to open the files after I’ve saved them, it asks me what program I want to open them with. I’m not sure what to use.
Also the file 1 is not saving as an .exe file.
Welcome Haley, for that issue please see this previous comment and response.
