I’m trying to download on a mac but whenever I click the links, the resulting page just states:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/DSGN/CS6/osx10/DesignStandard_CS6_LS16.dmg” on this server.
Reference #18.ac04503f.1411316795.189d8ebf
how do I get around this?
Simple – you’ve got to read and follow these download instructions above (required by Adobe) before you click, otherwise you’ll get that exact message every time.
If you have any difficulties after doing that, try a different web browser, another computer, or Internet connection.
If you’re still stuck, check out this list of download tips we put together.
Then to complete the installation, you must have Administrator privileges on your computer, plus your antivirus software must allow you to install programs.
having a problem downloading the photo shop cs6 trial
Hi Jenny, please see the previous comment, just above yours.
Also, make sure you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs – or running blocking utilities like Ghostery, AdBlock, or Disconnect. Adobe recommends temporarily turning those things off.
If that doesn’t help, then please post more details on the exact issue you’re having (including the exact text of any messages) – thanks!
You rock !
Hi, so originally when I tried to download the windows version, chrome kept dropping the “.exe” label and it would pop up as unreadable. However, once I jumped that hurdle my computer is now saying “the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable”.
I haven’t found any comments that have asked about this problem (I’ll keep looking but 20 minutes of searching through repeated comments I haven’t found any), so I’m not sure what the next step is. I tried downloading it in internet explorer and firefox but both are doing the same thing. Can you help? Thanks!
Hey there Katie, that is not a message that we have ever heard of before here – and it is also not a message having anything to do with Adobe software…
A quick googling of that message reveals it to be a specific problem with your PC disk/filesystem, which should hopefully be fixed by following this procedure:
Error Message: The File or Directory Is Corrupted or Unreadable
Hi,
So when I finally downloaded the photshop file on windows, I tried to open the file and it aid there were a few archives missing.
What kind of archives does it want to download?
Hello Samantha, here is how to take care of that.
hi.
I am unable to run the CS6 trial as it keeps coming up with the file archive of the file is missing.
I have downloaded both files but the one that is supposed to be zipped is just coming up as a text file, so I’m unable to extract the file.
Any help would be appreciated
Please ignore post. My file extensions were hidden, which I have now sorted and been able to change.
Hello, i downloaded After Effects CS6 last night from the above link.
After unzipping and running from the setup file, it says
“This product can only be installed in 64bit version of Windows.”
I am using WinXP 32bit, is After Effects CS6 available for 64bit only?
Anyone had this problem? Is there a 32bit version available, is there a link for that?
Please help me here.
Sorry Latafata, in fact CS4 (from 2008) was the last version where Premiere Pro and After Effects would run on 32-bit systems…
Since CS5 came out, Premiere and AE require 64-bit systems.

hi, just want to ask is it normal to take 3 hours or more? i just feel like the download bar isn’t moving, thanks!
Greetings Shane – you didn’t say which product… It depends entirely on the package you chose, and the speed of your connection – the download sizes here range from 100 MB all the way up to 8 GB!
For the larger CS6 suites, with an average-speed connection, 2-3 hours of download time could be possible.
PS – For more details, Adobe wrote a Guide to Estimated Download Times.
@ProDesignTools
Thank you for clearing that up. I was hoping CS5 or CS6 would come in 32bit. Guess I will have to get new 64bit hardware.
Where is a link for Photoshop CS6 Extended? I have downloaded this file PhotoshopCS6_LS16.7z, but it’s not the Extended version.
Could you please redirect me to the PS Extended version. It’s very confusing.
I got it, the one i downloaded from the above link was the Extended version…
I had installed it on windows xp, which failed to show the 3D tab – whereas when i installed it on Win 7, i could see the 3D composite tab.
Thank you.
I downloaded CS6, and any program I try to open it with gives me an error message.
Hi Joann, what error message exactly?
Hello there. When I go to downloads and click on CS6, it then asks me how I want to open the file and lists Adobe reader, windows media player, one note…etc. Any that I click on says that it is not supported.
Well, it sounds like your browser may have dropped the file extensions from your downloads, which can happen sometimes (especially with Internet Explorer)… If your computer is telling you it doesn’t have a file association, or doesn’t know how to open a file, then that’s probably what happened.
So to fix that, on Windows, make sure both files are in the same folder – with the first one being a “.exe” file and the second a “.7z” file. If not, then rename them back to restore those extensions.
Then try again to run or double-click the .exe file to start the installation process.
I will give it a try. Thank you.
It worked!! Thank you!!! @ProDesignTools
Great, glad to hear it Joann – and thanks for letting us know.
why i cannot download these trials
Well, are you following the essential download directions before clicking any of the links?
Did you try with a different browser or computer?
What exact problem are you having or message are you receiving?
I am guessing that the Serial keys are the same?
I been downloading this program and getting it to my computer. I have one slight problem is that my German is non-existent and I need to know this version comes up in English.
@Whitney
Also is there a way to get the files to stay in English
Hello Whitney, in the table above you’ll find the CS6 direct links to download both/either the English as well as the Western European language (German, French, etc) versions.
@ProDesignTools
Danke, that is about it for my German. I am paranoid about the Cloud being hacked that is why I prefer to work without it. Yeah I know most security systems are not secure. Heck anything with byte of data and CPU can be hacked. Thank you for your help
Sure, glad to help Whitney – but it sounds like you may be under some definite misconceptions about the newer CC versions… They aren’t what you think; please see the first three points on this list for the explanation:
The 10 Most Common Myths About Adobe’s Creative Cloud (CC)
My MacBook Pro has a 32 bit processor. I will not be able to use the four programs that require 64-bit. How will this impact me?
Hey there Saundra, in CS6 only Premiere Pro, After Effects and SpeedGrade are 64-bit-only applications. So that means that unless you upgrade your system, you won’t be able to run most of those video production tools.
However, all of the popular design and development programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Audition, and Flash Pro offer 32-bit versions and remain available to you.
Hello~
So I’ve been having a problem with the .7z file with InDesign program. I renamed it to a .exe file, but when ever I attempt to open either of the two files, one says that its still missing and the other one says that its not compatible with the version of windows I’m running.
Hi Kain, that won’t work. On Windows typically you’ll have two files to download here – a .exe (File 1) and a .7z (File 2). They both need to go into the same folder on your computer, and are not interchangeable.
It’s possible that one or the other of your two downloaded files had its extension dropped by your web browser. That can happen sometimes, especially when using IE. If so, then you’ll need to rename the affected file(s) to restore the proper extension(s).
Then double-click the .exe executable to begin the installation process, and you should be good to go.
@ProDesignTools
Oops actually I figured it out and the program works! :D Thank you very much~
Great – glad to hear it, and thanks for letting us know.
I downloaded both of the files for Premiere Pro, but i don’t know what to do with them now? How do i get it to work?
Welcome Andrew, if you need additional help getting it installed then check out this step-by-step guide.
