Link to Captivate 8 Mac not working :(
Hi Bleak, all of the links are working fine from our end (just tested again), no problems at all… You just have to make sure you’re carefully following the important download instructions given above in the article, near the top of this page…
If you don’t do that, then you’ll get an access or permission message and will be denied downloading from the Captivate 8 direct links.
If you’ve followed all the directions and still are having issues, then please try a different web browser, another computer, or a better/faster Internet connection. (If possible, use a wired Internet connection with a cable instead of wireless, as Wi-Fi can be slower and less reliable.)
Hope that helps!
Doug, Do you mind sharing the serial number for Adobe Captivate 8 for Mac.
Thanks so much in advance.
Sure Mac, you can get one right here.

I’m having downloading issues w/ the NEW Captivate 8.0.1 update via Adobe’s website. (I had successfully signed in.)
The updated version for Mac is 2.17GB (English). The one on the website won’t directly download. I’m not a fan of Akamai or DLM.
The links provided on here (ProDesign Tools) is still 1.6GB.
Can someone pls update the NEW links (Mac OS & Windows)? The Windows version from Adobe’s site were updated. Greatly appreciated!
Hey there Marik, thank you for your comment – we have updated all of the direct links above to be Captivate version 8.0.1! (the latest release for both Windows and Mac)
Hope they help and thanks again for the good suggestion.
Thanks for updating the links! Greatly appreciated!
Keep up the good work, PDT!
Sure, you bet – happy to help!
I just upgraded to the new version of Captivate (from 7 to 8) and when I am trying to open a file from a directory, the system tells me that it can not open this file. Yet, I saved my document with Captivate 8. I have to open Captivate, and then go to “File” and only then I am able to open my document. How can I open my documents directly into my Windows directory?
Hello Christine, it sounds like you may have a Windows file associations issue, which can happen sometimes with multiple versions on a single computer…
What’s probably happening is when you try to open a project from your file system, Windows still wants to open it with your older Captivate 7 instead of Captivate 8 – and version 7 cannot open files that were created in version 8. So you get an error instead of what you expected.
Fortunately however, this is fairly easily fixed.
how to download flash cc 32 bit
Here are our Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links, which include the latest release of Flash Pro CC, for both Windows and Mac OS…
However, there is no 32-bit version of Flash Pro in the CC release – it’s 64-bit only… The last release of Flash Professional that supported 32-bit systems was CS6 from 2012.
Hello,
I have already installed the Mac and the 3 files that are on your website but still can not open.
The icon starts charging but disappears.
Already uninstalled the software 3 times.
Please help me?
I want to take a course and need the software installed.
Thank you
Débora
Hi Débora, sorry you’re having difficulties. When you say, “the icon starts charging but disappears,” what exactly do you mean – could you give more details?
Were you able to at least successfully download the Captivate 8 installer files you needed, without error?
Also, why type of computer do you have, and does it meet the minimum system requirements for the product?
We’d be happy to help, but would need a bit more information to understand what might not be working for you.
Product sucks. Will not open. Trying to open the 30-day trial and keeps asking me what program to open it in…aren’t you using your own software? Will not buy and will not recommend.
Hey David, guessing that your web browser may have dropped a file extension(s) when downloading… That happens sometimes, especially when using IE (Internet Explorer).
If there’s no longer an extension, then your computer wouldn’t know how to open/process the files.
So on Windows, make sure the first (small) file has a .exe extension and the second (large) file has a .7z extension. If not, then just rename the file(s) to add back the extension(s) at the end, and you should then be able to proceed from there.
@ProDesignTools
Hello,
I’ll try to explain about my difficulty…
I have a Mac OS v.10.10 (I think this data is very important and which is not included in the System requirements at the site Adobe).
I can just download a file Captivate_8_LS21.dmg and file Adobe _eLearning_Asset_LS21.dmg.
Do you understand me?
Thanks
Oh, in that case – if you’re having any problems using Captivate 8 on Mac OS X v.10.10 “Yosemite” – then please see this Adobe Help page.
hi,
i am using a trial version of captivate 8 and i am not sure if there are limitations? i see that i am supposed to be able to publish to my desktop or youtube, but i don’t have that option on my menu.
also, i was unable to put rollover captions on my photos. that option was greyed out…
thanks
Hello Elizabeth, not sure what could be the problem – are you sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Adobe Captivate 8?
Generally, the free trial for Captivate 8 is fully-functional except for the limitation that published files will expire after 30 days… In other words, the trial version places a 30-day expiry date on any projects and content you publish from it.
For more about this limitation and how to work with it, see this post:
Adobe Captivate Trial Version Restrictions?

Greetings Pim, regarding limitations – the Captivate trial version is exactly the same as the paid version, only restriction is that published files will expire in 30 days.
Some Adobe trials also add a watermark to video, like Adobe Presenter.
Morning. I tried to download trial version of Captivate 8 on Friday but repeatedly got an error message when I tried to open one of the files. This morning I have tried to download afresh but have access to the website denied! Help!! Any advice greatly received as I am seeking to learn the basics of * before potentially acquiring a full version of it for work purposes.
Welcome Ian, we’d suggest stepping through the important download directions again (required by Adobe’s servers). Those instructions are essential and required by Adobe’s servers.
You might also try it with a different web browser and/or computer, if you continue to have difficulties – while still following the same directions.
Or, even better, just go with the brand new Captivate 9 free trial instead… It’s a better version that you can buy.
Good Day,
I uninstalled Captivate 8 due to errors. Now when attempting to download it again from this website, I am getting an Access Denied error. I have a license for 8, so I need to install 8 again. Please assist
Hi Kerry, that’s totally explainable. Please see our reply in the comment immediately above yours.
FYI: Your links to Cap 8 trial no longer work.
Hey Nick, just tested and all the links on this page work fine. Please make sure you are following the important download instructions first, which are given near the top of this page.
Following those directions is required by Adobe’s servers – and if you don’t do it before clicking on any of the Captivate direct links above, then they won’t work and you’ll get an access or permissions denied message instead…
If you have any further difficulties, then you might want to try with a different web browser or another computer – each time following those same instructions.
Also, make sure you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs – or running utilities like Ghostery, AdBlock, or Disconnect. Adobe recommends turning those things off temporarily.
Or, even better, just go with the new Captivate 9 free trial instead… It’s a better version that you can buy.
Hope that helps!
I am looking to download a working version of Captivate 8 to work on a client’s file – can you help me, please?
Hi David, the links above do still work to download Captivate 8 for Windows or macOS.
If you are having any difficulties, please see our previous comment.
