  1. Issue resolved. It’s not enough to simply log in on the Adobe website; you need to run the download assistant program and log in there before cancelling and then clicking on the direct links here.

  2. Love average 50KB download; especially for 6+GB file!
CS5 will usually default to trial from anywhere, such as TPB or even get it from Adobe.
    This too slow!

    • Sorry, the speed of the download is completely beyond our control – it’s entirely due to your own connection with Adobe’s servers…

Our best advice is to use a fast/wired connection if possible, rather than Wi-Fi. Also, trying a different browser or computer may give different results.

But for us these downloads are quite speedy with an 85 Mbps fiber optic Internet connection.

  3. I had a total system failure and finally found this site…absolutely fantastic…exact instructions…only question is how to incorporate the extras after the initial suite is installed?? This may have been answered in the posting already so I will apologize if it has already been answered.

    Thanks in advance.

    • Glad to help and thanks for the kind words. The Extra Content downloads contain user files (not installed system files), so you can just open and unzip those packages anywhere that you want on your computer’s hard drive, then check out what’s inside.

  4. Any idea why the following message is appearing for CS5.5 Web Premium?

    Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/WEBB/CS5_5/win32/WebPremium_CS5_5_LS1.exe” on this server.

    • Yes, that typically happens when the download instructions aren’t carefully followed.

Just go through those (near the top of this page) step-by-step. If you have any difficulties, try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection. Avoid Wi-Fi as it can be slow and/or unreliable – better to use wired over wireless.

If you’re completely stuck, see this list of download tips.

  5. Yeah ok. Direct link and all. My bad. I have 80 Mbps f/o cable.

Adobe has poor direct link then – maybe ’twas just at that time.

    Thanks for the advice!

TPB dl’d CS5.5 for me at 3.8 Mbps.

    Sorry for whinging!

  6. One other thing…this is not meant to be rude to anyone trying to download the software. I am simply reiterating something from another party that may be able to help by having it stated by another person.

In order to download the files, read the instructions in their entirety.

    Follow the instructions, exactly.

I’ve downloaded from multiple browsers, OS, WiFi & Ethernet. Success across all options. From initial start to final install and launch was approximately 1.2 hours…Master Collection before someone tries to say it was a small file.

@ProDesignTools is a definite source for clean downloads, instructional data and a trusted site in my book.

  7. Ok so the download portion worked just fine for the Master Collection and I have both required files in the same folder. But when I click on the Application file I get an error message that says “The file archive part of Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection is missing. You need all parts in the same folder to extract Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection. Please download all parts.”
I’m looking at both files in the same folder right now. I’ve tried downloading them a second time, moving them to a different folder etc, but I keep getting this odd error message. Any ideas?

    • Hi, guessing that your web browser may have dropped a file extension(s) when downloading… If there’s no longer an extension, then your computer wouldn’t know how to open/process the files.

On Windows, make sure the first (small) file has a .exe extension and the second (large) file has a .7z extension. If not, then just rename the file(s) to add back the extension(s) at the end, and you should then be able to proceed from there.

  8. Hey,

When I click on the link I simply get an error that says:

    Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/STVD/CS5_5/osx10/ProductionPremium_MasterCollection_CS5_5_Content_ALL.dmg” on this server.

  9. Hello,

I’m having trouble finding the free version of Adobe Story that comes with CS5.5. I’ve downloaded the full suite, however, I can’t find it even when I search my hard drive for it.

    Any ideas?

    Best,
    Hundo

    • Greetings Hundo, Adobe Story is primarily an online service, but there does exist also a Story Plus desktop application… However, it is an Adobe AIR app (not an .EXE or .DMG) and is managed entirely by that service, therefore we are unable to provide a standard direct download link for it.

It is also not bundled with the executable packages that we have linked above, but is downloaded separately from the Adobe Story web page.

Adobe Story Plus is also part of and contained in the Creative Cloud.

  10. Just a thought…

So I have Story on my iMac, had CS5.5 and CS6 prior to the world of Creative Cloud (CC). So I recently brought a MacBook Pro, after installing CS6 noticed I did not access to Story so I tried installing my old CS5.5, didn’t work by the way, everything is pretty much as you’ve listed above. However, I paid for a CC membership and have since downloaded the desktop version.

My question is: if I were cancel the CC membership, will I still have access to the desktop version? I am assuming so (wishful thinking), I do still have access to desktop version on my iMac but again, that was prior to the introduction of CC.

    Thanks,
    Hundo

    • Well, Story may be a bit of a special case due to what we mentioned, but generally it works the same as it did with Creative Suite: Provided that each software’s system requirements are met, then generally you can run the CC release together on the same machine as prior CS versions.

So regardless of whether you stop your CC subscription, any older release that you have will still be available to you – they shouldn’t interfere and one does not subsume the other.

  11. Hi, I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro X with no problems, however it is not accepting my serial number. I only have a serial for CS6 Design Standard which includes Acrobat Pro X, but I do not have access to the disc (somewhere in storage) and I had to uninstall Acrobat Pro X due to several problems.

  12. Hi…I followed the download instructions and was successful accessing the files, however occasionally my internet disconnects and when I try to resume the download I get the permissions error. I appreciate the links and since I am not in a hurry I don’t mind babysitting it and waiting hours for it to download… but this seems impossible. Any ideas?

    Reply
    • Well, if your Internet disconnects then you’ll have no chance at all with these links – there is no “pause/resume” capability in direct links, and the files will be corrupted and won’t work.

Instead, you’d have to you download and use your own download manager, such as IDM, to properly deal with an unreliable connection.

  13. I am shocked at the new lack of support adobe wants to provide, I am a 30 year working pro, paid for my software in 11/11 and am appalled that they won’t support cs5.5. I have asked for a support member to call me back, no luck. I saw at pro photo this year many programs that will rival Photoshop and lightroom, maybe competition will remind adobe the customer still pays their salaries

  14. “A problem occurred while extracting the archive” then it asks me to redownload flash cs 5.5 … I downloaded file 1 of flash for USA and Windows (there’s only 1 file link) and open up the exe, let it install and when its almost done – BOOM that error comes up!! and it’s not corrupted i’ve downloaded it 4 times now and i have really fast and stable internet.

    • Well, sometimes that message happens if the downloaded file(s) aren’t located somewhere on the same disk drive that you want to install the programs to… Does that help?

  15. Do these instructions still work? I’m signed into my adobe account both on the web and within the download manager program that you link to. I’ve tried clicking these links with the download paused, cancelled and running within download manager, as well as closing the manager mid-download. I’ve even tried it with the download of the download manager paused/cancelled/running. I’ve tried both safari and chrome. I’m running out of ideas here. It may be worthwhile to update the instructions if they are outdated.

    • Hi Alan, everything still works – and the instructions are up to date and fine if you follow them carefully! You don’t need any download manager at all, Adobe’s or otherwise… The only programs that you let fully download are the ones you want to install.

  16. When I download and open the installer on Mac and then hit install, I get this message “installer failed to initialize.”
