About How to Get New Adobe Creative Cloud 2020 Direct Download Links
Hello,
Typical of Adobe …
The news was a very good news, but of course the way to access and download the direct links does not work at all (as most of the time…).
You go there the Customer Care team via live online chat, not there … tried “Contact us”, logged on with my Adobe Id, still no “live online chat”, then tried “Nous contacter/Contact us” at 09:32, received a magnificent message stating we are open from 09:00 to 17:00.
So the article is about what we really need, but as usual it does not work …
Why are you making things so complicated, Adobe ?
Thank you
Bonjour Yves,
Often when contacting a company, the hours will still be stated even if the customer service is already open… Sometimes this also happens when the queue is full or overflowing.
We expect that with this long-anticipated news about the 2020 installers, there will be quite some additional demand for contacting Adobe… Have you happened to try again, or since?
In the meantime, feel free to use the publicly-available CC 2019 direct download links instead, if that helps.
PS – We also want to see the new 2020 direct links published by Adobe and made publicly available as well, as earlier releases have been, rather than each user having to contact Customer Care individually…
If you agree – and it sounds like you do – then please share your feedback with Adobe’s product teams to tell the company directly… plus spread the word to others you know!
Hi again,
I don’t know if this is the right place ask this, when I clicked on the link “share your feedback” above, I get taken to a page with a dropdown menu.
In that “Select product” list, it has “Photoshop Elements (promo 30q1)”. Do you happen to know what that’s for?
Hey Daniel,
Not sure – just looks like a stray/duplicate entry to us, and we’d just ignore it and stick to the Creative Cloud products instead for these purposes (requesting public direct download links).
Thank you for your suggestion, I am waiting for Prodesigntools to publish the adobe cc 2020 Direct Links.
What a mess! It does not work. This is frustrating. Looking forward for direct links. Maybe it is time to switch to competitor products.
What happened exactly? Did you try contacting Adobe per the guidance above? How did you ask and what did they say?
Here’s how my chat with Customer Care went:
ME: Hello, I need the direct download links (offline installers) for the new 2020 releases of Adobe Photoshop for Mac and Windows. Could you please help me?
ADOBE: You can go to the below link to get the access to the subscription:
https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html
ME: Could you please help me find the direct download links in the page you have given me?
ADOBE: You can use the trial version and if you need access you have to buy the subscription.
ME: So what that means is I need to buy the offline setup files with a paid subscription?
ADOBE: Yes please. If you need to use the complete access of the subscription, you have to buy it.
We would suggest trying again with a different agent. Adobe told us you should be able to get the offline installers as a trial user.
In any event, note that Adobe offers a 14-day money back guarantee on Creative Cloud subscriptions…
Meaning that that anyone who purchases a new plan can get a full refund within the first two weeks after the initial payment is made, with no questions asked. In that way, Adobe would absolutely have to provide the new direct download links because you’d be a paid subscriber at that point.
In most cases, any plan cancellation can be made online without hassle. If you decide to continue your paid membership past the first 14 days, then the return period closes.
Customer chat steadfastly refused to admit offline installers existed and kept pointing me at subscription pages or the regular installer.
Tried with rep 1 for 30 minutes before waiting another 30 minutes to be transferred to a supervisor.
Tried with rep 2 simultaneously (incognito window) who insisted Lightroom Classic was cloud only and used cloud storage. Insisted on having adobe account details to talk to me.
Eventually, after more than an hour, rep 1 relented and provided a link to Lightroom Classic 9.0. They then immediately disconnected when asked about 9.1.
—
Rep 2 continued to insist that the offline installers didn’t exist – even when prompted that the other rep had provided one.
“Offline installers are only for Lightroom 6. Not beyond that. I can give you the trial download link which I have already given. There is nothing more to it.”
“I am saying as I know that there is no offline installer for Lightroom Classic 2020.”
For some reason the reps are either unaware that the installers exist or (more likely?) have been trained to refuse to admit they exist.
Even when given the *actual* link they refused to admit offline installers exist.
What a bizarre way to run a company.
Thanks for reporting your experience, Ed – and sorry to hear of the challenge. It seems the customer experience is inconsistent here… We have contacted Adobe management about this and hope the process improves over time for all users – but in the meantime, please know that it definitely is possible!
You know this because you did eventually receive the download link for Lightroom Classic 2020… So that’s good news. Meanwhile, your Rep 2 sounds generally clueless, unfortunately.
The best strategy is probably to go with the question/language we suggested in the article above – and if you get any significant pushback, then request a supervisor and/or end the conversation and try again with a new & different rep.
But with luck, this will not be necessary for most people to get the 2020 direct links.
A bit of good news. Adobe has published the direct download for Camera Raw 12.1 at:
https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
This download is necessary if you get the direct links for Photoshop and Lightroom Classic from Adobe customer support. The version of LR they gave me (9.0) expects Camera Raw 12, but the version of Photoshop 2020 (21.0.0) includes Camera Raw 10.0. Certain LR operations such as “Open as Layers in Photoshop” don’t work unless you get this new version of Camera Raw.
Thanks. Same as described below. Really frustrating and a huge waste of time and productivity.
Hello. The customer service is not providing me offline installers because i am a free user. Can you help with that?
Hi, please see our previous response above on that topic.
Did anyone get the direct links to Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC ? I reinstalled my PC with fresh Windows 10 and now it’s impossible to get anything from Adobe via the classic Creative Cloud Desktop (it stops during download and never starts again – I tried several times these last 4 days with the same result) and I’m starting to really get annoyed by this !
Happy New Year to everyone, by the way !
We’ve had no difficulties, and Ed above also confirms he was able to get a direct download link to the new version of Lightroom Classic 9.0.
So give it a shot, and you should be able to get the 2020 offline installers.
hi, you should download them all and re-upload them to this website and make a list for mac and pc.
i got the download links and downloaded them for pc, but it took me more than 2 hours to convince him that i just needed the direct links, that’s all.
i’m hoping the first man who invented online download is happy now!!!
Sorry – we cannot copy, re-upload, or redistribute the installer files in any way, as it is against Adobe’s terms of service and thus illegal.
Generally it is also very unsafe to try to download and install any software that doesn’t come direct from Adobe.
Is giving the direct download links also against Adobe rules ?
The new links that Adobe is giving out now for 2020 are not permanent direct links (as in the past), but rather specially-encoded links which expire after 24 hours…
In other words, each user’s links are different so that their access to download the 2020 installers is time-limited.
I tried again as you said to no avail. I give up! And Happy New Year everybody!
If any Adobe agent answers unhelpfully, then just point them to their own Help page here:
…which was published to that page on December 9, 2019.
Contacting Customer Service to get the offline installers worked for me!
Thanks!
Thanks for your answers. The fact is I cannot manage to contact their Customer Service : no live chat available, no contact form, no email (of course).. so how did you do this ? I’m in Europe so maybe we don’t have the same Adobe page, but if someone feels like showing me the way to their reach a real human through customer service then I’d be glad to give it a go !
Well, it looks like you are in France, and certainly there is a way for French customers to get in touch with Adobe Customer Care.
The opening hours and contact method may vary, of course, depending on your time of day.
Try: http://www.ContactAdobe.com/
Then you need to look for “Contact Us” or “Your contact options for your product or plan” at the bottom of the page, or the Chat icon at the lower right. If asked, choose the “Download & Install” category.
(If for some reason chat doesn’t work, then you can try calling instead – but of course, you can’t receive links over the phone.)
Are downloads from this site official Adobe products or have they been cracked in some way? Are these links approved by Adobe? I’m seeing lots of comments about download links disappearing etc. and, to be honest, I don’t want to download anything malicious.
I couldn’t really find any reviews online about this site and thought folks in the forum here could give me an idea if the software here is safe.
Thanks!
There is no problem and no danger. All the direct download links provided on our site go to the authentic and secure files residing on Adobe’s servers, are guaranteed genuine, 100% safe and legal.
Here’s the latest from a user on the Adobe Forums, who was previously stuck:
And the follow-up just now:
I am not sure if this is a perfect solution. Up to now, I was chatting for more than one hour with three different persons from Adobe. But they all provided me with a link to the Creative-Cloud-desktop-installer. No success up until now. I’m going to sleep :-(
@Andreas
Hey, just before I gave up, I got a message from Adobe with all the download-links I need – Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Audition, InDesign, Acrobat. Great!
Terrific, glad to hear it Andreas – and thanks for letting us know!
From Adobe chat on 2020/01/07:
“The direct links for offline are not available anymore. You can install online creative cloud using the link below: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html”
“To use the applications, you will have to log in with an email id and you can choose to use the trial versions of the applications.”
“Sorry we do not have offline installer links available anymore.”
“It was changed once the latest 2020 release of new versions was done in November.”
Amazing. Every word of what that rep just said was wrong.
In other words, that’s completely untrue. The new 2020 offline installers are absolutely available direct from Adobe, right now… They should have given you temporary download links for whichever apps you requested.
And as you can see from the comments above, other users are definitely receiving them.
So, we would recommend trying again with a different representative and asking to speak directly with a supervisor if necessary.
One of our staff members just confirmed this again today with Adobe Customer Care, and everything went very smoothly and quickly. Here’s the chat transcript:
Trying to obtain direct downloads for 2020 Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Bridge to take to a client’s premises where the connection speeds are abysmally slow (even for ADSL) and unreliable and was told:
“Downloading the application in a USB can make it corrupt and when you will transfer the file it will not install properly so we recommend to install the application directly in the internal drive.”
They also cited ‘Security concerns.’
Consequentially, they will not relinquish direct download links.
I will now have to find a way to avoid, what will probably be more than a day’s download at my clients premises.
Thanks Adobe, for adding more convolution to what should be a simple process which will ultimately reflect badly on my services.
Welcome Michael, sorry to hear of your experience. Unfortunately, what you were told is complete malarkey. There is no issue whatsoever with any “corruption,” and the 2020 offline installers that Adobe is providing via their direct links will download, copy, and install perfectly onto any other machine. We know because we’ve done it with zero problems.
We suggest trying until you find a rep who knows what they’re talking about. If you don’t get a positive response within the first few minutes of the chat, then the agent is clueless so insist on being connected to a supervisor, or simply disconnect and try again with someone else. You will succeed, so don’t give up. It’s far better than the excruciating pain of trying to successfully download 10 GB of creative apps over a 1 Mbps connection!
@ProDesignTools
I tried again and after much back and forth I was able to obtain the links. The rep tried multiple times to get me to use the desktop app to download. I don’t understand why something as simple as a link to a product trial should take nearly an hour of chat. Adobe is certainly alienating customers with this practice.
Whew, glad to hear it! It’s frustrating that the customer experience is so uneven with some Adobe reps, but we believe (hope!) this will smooth out over time as their experience with providing these grows… We have also asked Adobe to provide the links publicly on their website, but that is not currently the case and we don’t know when or if that will ever happen.
Thanks for following up and sharing your experience, and happy that you finally got what you needed. As we said, don’t give up! Keep trying and don’t take no for an answer if you need these.
PS – If any Adobe agent answers unhelpfully, then just point them to their own Help page here:
…which was published to that page on December 9, 2019.
Thanks for that link – it was useful today as I had to chat again to get links for apps that were skipped over on my last chat. Unfortunately it again took around 45 minutes to get an answer and required much discussion with both a level 1 rep and a supervisor. The rep repeatedly said that offline installers were not availalble and the supervisor repeatedly told me that I couldn’t have links without first signing up for an Adobe ID then finally provided them after I said I would create an ID after the chat.
This should be a simple process – it’s ridiculous to have to chat for nearly an hour to get a simple software tryout link. Without this page, I’m sure it would be much more difficult, so thanks for always having the latest info.
Sure, our pleasure – and happy to help! Very glad that it’s useful.
And it may be that folks who are trial users (evaluating the product like yourself) are having a more challenging time getting the direct download links than paid Creative Cloud subscribers (customers who are already in their system).
PS – The odd thing is that for all of Adobe’s previous Creative Cloud releases, anyone at all can easily download a standalone installer from direct links instantly (e.g., for CC 2019, CC 2018, etc.).
Tried multiple times to get the links for Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and Premiere. Today I got this :
I tried last week as well, to no avail. I have to full subscription on my (corporate) account, so it’s not like I’m not paying for the apps. The rep clearly states that it changed.. Will try again in a bit, but getting the feeling it might, in fact, changed and they’re not available anymore?
Hey Marc, you did everything right. That rep Sandeep is flat-out wrong.
Adobe is certainly giving out the 2020 direct download links to customers. For a confirmation, here is a brand new chat transcript from a few minutes ago:
It was no problem at all, so not sure why you had such difficulty. But for sure, the rep you quoted, Sandeep, is incorrect.
The only thing he’s right about is that you, as a Creative Cloud Enterprise/Teams plan subscriber (a corporate account) do have the ability to use the Admin Console to build your own offline installation packages.
For more information, please see:
How to Create Creative Cloud App Packages Using the Admin Console
However, the far more common Creative Cloud Individual plans (i.e., regular people) do not have this ability – and thus getting offline installers from Adobe is the only way.
PS – We have been told that all Adobe customer service reps across all locations have both the ability and authorization to distribute the new 2020 offline installers, which they are now able to access via their internal version repository. Feel free to mention that.
All this is amazing. Why on Earth is Adobe spending money on all these support services when they could simply publish the standalone offline updaters, as they do with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, for instance? Well, I think that I know now: to collect your e-mail and send you advertising spam. Really amazing!
It’s a good question. But your speculation is not the answer.
Anyone who has ever downloaded a Creative Cloud offline installer from a direct link has already had to have an Adobe ID (meaning Adobe has your email on record) in order to start your free trial or activate the software.
This has always been true. So that’s definitely not the reason.
We can’t be sure of Adobe’s rationale for having Customer Service be the gatekeepers for the 2020 installers, rather than publishing them publicly as they have always done before. It may have to do with keeping tighter control of them for a variety of reasons: release management, anti-piracy, product authenticity.
But it certainly has to be more costly for them to serve every single user request this way. So we’d like to see the 2020 direct links published publicly by the company, like earlier releases. If you agree – and it sounds like you do – then please share your feedback with Adobe’s product teams to tell the company directly… plus spread the word to other users you know.
Thanks. Yes, I have already sent them feedback several times. Hopefully, they will listen. And thanks for this great site. Adobe should pay you for all your hard work here!
Thank you, you’re very kind. We’re trying to do everything we can to help!
