  1. I would use LR4 on my photos for perfecting those shots not quite up to par in camera. I would also teach it on my website where I currently teach PS (only have PS CS3 but want to update that too).

  3. Currently using Lightroom 3.6, and LR4 beta. Really like 4 especially the highlights and shadow sliders, and the new clarity slider is Fantastic!

I use Lightroom for all editing before going to Elements 9. Would really love to win!!!

  4. I plan to use it to help with my art work and project I do for Secondlife in my shop as a wedding planner. I do graphics for different things in there.

  6. I bought Mac only because I wanted to try Aperture, sold it after 2 weeks, and transferred again to Lightroom 3. My favorite option in the upcoming release is selective white balance ;)

  7. I always get jazzed when I hear a new update is being added to the Adobe lineup of fantastic products. I couldn’t run my retouching/photography business without it.

  8. I run LR3 on my Mac, and I will definitely consider upgrading.

I’m very keen on the mapping integration and the simplifed tone controls. (The labeling just seems so much more intuitive to me.)

I recently learned of Blurb because of a book my father-in-law published with them, so I am also intrigued by that option.

Most of my usage is personal – family, vacations, kids’ soccer teams, etc.

  9. I use Lightroom CONSTANTLY – every photo I take is run through the program. I go out to Elements for things I can’t do very well in Lightroom (cloning, for example, is far easier in Elements) but 98% of all my photo touchups are done in LR.

I love the idea of curves-per-channel in the upcoming edition, as well as the additional local enhancements – I will DEFINITELY upgrade as soon as the product hits the shelves.

  10. Like the book section – should prove very useful if Blurb is competitively priced in the U.K.

Have had all 3 versions of Lightroom and, although not always intuitive to a septagenarian, it is like a well-used glove and nothing else can be worn!

  11. I just upgraded to LR3 after both my computers crashed two weeks ago – since Nikon NX2 (which I use in conjunction with LR & PS) finally works with Lion, I’m now running MAC OSX Lion. LR3 is such an improvement over the older version, I wish I’d upgraded sooner.

Since I just got LR3, I hate to then have to spend more to upgrade to LR4 within a few months, but I will probably get it eventually since the improvements sound worthwhile. I’m hoping that by speeding up my workflow, it will pay for itself quickly, and if that’s the case I’m more likely to step up to LR4 sooner.

I especially like the idea of the tonal improvements and being able to email photos directly.

  12. Using CS5 at moment, expect to purchase LR4 for easier pre production, photo organisation etc. Talked to current Lightroom users, many find if they don’t do a lot of digital manipulation, Lightroom can pretty much stand alone. Best appears to be use a blend of both programs to improve productivity.

  13. I am currently have 2.7 but just took a class in Lightroom so I haven’t used it a lot but I am waiting until 4 comes out so I can upgrade to that and start fresh. Lightroom 4…my New Year’s Resolution!
