I put a new hard drive into my MacBook Pro and have successfully installed EVERY application from my old drive… except Photoshop CS4. I have my Serial Number. I have logged into my account on adobe.com and it shows I am registered with CS4 (and has my serial number there too). I have found the page at ProDesignTools that shows links for downloading CS4 on my mac… but I keep getting page not found. Have tried Safari and Firefox. Logged into adobe account. What the heck am I missing? I have spent hours trying to download something I paid hundreds of dollars for to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!
Jim
Hello Jim, sorry you’re having difficulties… For help, see our suggestions in the comments just above to Antony and Nikki.
I had some old CS3 files that I couldn’t uninstall because they were moved from my old Macbook Pro to my new iMac (don’t use migration assistant to move Adobe files! More info here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/944113)
I used the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool (http://adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and deleted all old files. Then I saved the files above to an external hard drive and installed, and it worked!
I hope this helps someone else.
Great – thanks for sharing that MM, appreciate it! Yes, the Cleaner Tool sometimes comes in handy for clearing off and removing all parts of old versions.
Purchased CS4 suite — then bought a new Mac Air computer – and CS4 crashes when I try to open it. What do I do??
Not sure Merry, do you get any error messages? Try the suggestions given in this help forum.
DOWNLOAD ERROR: trying the links to CS4 suite for mac download goes to this:
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
Make sure you’re carefully following the download instructions given at the top of this page. If you’re having difficulties, then try a different web browser, computer, or Internet connection (avoid Wi-Fi).
I figured out how to download (signed in) —
Assume that I must download the original CS4 files, then use my code to activate
BUT I cannot figure out which is the original CS4 file. I find lots of updates (which I have already).
Can you please send me to the link for the WHOLE CS4 for Mac file??
Thanks so much.
They’re all above. Everything’s there. Just make sure you have the right product that matches your purchased serial number.
Then after you download both files and run the .exe, look for a folder created on your Desktop. In that folder will be your set-up.exe to install the CS4 software. Then run the trial and you can enter your serial key.
AHA — I may have figured it out. Followed the instructions above with greater attention. Sorry!!
Trying the links to the CS4 suite for Mac download goes to this:
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
Note: it appears the links no longer exist. I’m logged in and everything. I’ve tried chrome, safari, firefox; all have the same message.
Again, all I need is the disk to install CS4, mine is missing. I have my product IDs and even the case it came in, lol.
hi. i downloaded the mac install for cs4 master collection a few days ago. tried to install it, but once the dmg verifies and opens, a window pops with the following items…
Adobe CS4 Master Collection
Creative Suite 4 Master Collection — Lisez-moi.pdf
Creative Suite 4 Master Collection Read Me.pdf
Léame de Creative Suite 4 Master Collection.pdf
When I click on the Master Collection icon, I get another list…
Bootstrapper.dmg
deployment
extensions
payloads
resources
Setup
But I can’t seem to get to a typical mac application install window. I am signed into adobe and adobe application manager is running. Any further suggestions? Thanks.
No luck so far even tho’ I tried following the instructions exactly. Going to try multiple browsers, but getting same error. Trying to download CS3 Standard that I paid over $500 for!
Ann
I’ve followed the directions down to a T on two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox) and I still can’t get Photoshop CS3 to download. It’s puzzling, because I’ve had no problems before.
I’m having the same problem as Jim and several others. I followed instructions and getting the download errors mentioned above. I don’t see a solution to what those people are doing wrong. I don’t see a way to go back to your archives to read what you wrote before Jim Pollock’s comments, per your response to him on April 30th. Thanks.
@Merry
I am getting the same error Merry did, and have run through the instructions several times and can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. Do I need to close the Adobe Application Manager too?
@Merry
NO LUCK!! I have the downloaded files and un-installed prior version (which was crashing rather than opening)
BUT … when I try to install the download by clicking on “Setup.app”, it runs “checking the system profile” and hangs up about 3/4 of the way. It tries to open several times, then gives this error message:
“Startup Error: Required resources are missing.”
HELP! DESPERATE!
Recently my computer suffered a disastrous crash after a power outage caused by an explosion in the local junction box. I now have a new HDD and most data recovered but need to reinstall Creative Suite 4. I have the DVDs but the setup file will not run, it just keeps quitting. Is it possible to send me a copy or is there a link where I can download it.
Any help / advice / tips most appreciated. I am logged into Adobe but when I try to download the file the link here just keeps giving me an error 404.
My iMac is a 2.8GHz Intel Core duo running OS 10.6. I was using Safari but tried Chrome too. I have logged into Adobe and have it open in another tab.
Tried to download the Premiere Pro CS4 trial but when I click it, it comes up with:
HTTP ERROR: 404 support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
I have logged into my Adobe account
Please help
How long is the trial for? We have a valid license for CS4, but unable to locate the necessary software, hence the reason why we are on this site. :)

The download links above to the 30-day free trials above for CS3 and CS4 all continue to work fine – we just tested them again, and had no difficulties.
Make sure you are carefully following the download instructions given at the top of this page… Clicking on the link in Step 1 is critical.
If you have any issues, try with a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (no Wi-Fi).
Occasionally Adobe’s servers can lock people out, especially after an aborted download… If so, then wait a while (like till the next day) before trying again.
For some additional suggestions, see Kate’s previous comments, what she tried, and the replies which follow.
If you’ve successfully downloaded the software but are getting messages on the installation, make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the software, and/or google the error message you’re getting.
Hope this helps!
@ Cory Burbidge
I learned by trying over and over again that you can’t use Adobe’s Download Manager, it won’t recognize your account login. So I went to the Adobe site and downloaded Acrobat (the download manager didn’t open up) and then returned to this site and was able to download the trial.
Thanks, Eric! It worked.
I tried all the things above and I STILL get the 404 error! I went in and tried to download a trial of a current program and that didn’t work either.
Anyone got any suggestion at all why I get the 404 and cannot even get to the page!?
Yes. You may have gotten locked out for a while from a failed attempt. Give it a bit of a rest and try again later.
See the previous discussion with Kate for some further thoughts.
@Merry
Just what I am getting, in all browsers. All I need is the darned setup.app, everything else is fine!
You should be able to download it and enter in your licence number, I would have thought.
Yes, that’s right.
@CuZz4
Just a tip: Make sure you click on the ‘File 1’ download UNDER the Mac column.
I clicked on the first, many times, not downloading… Then a friendly Adobe chat person remarked I should choose the right platform. I took a look, and sure enough, I was clicking Windows instead of Mac.
I purchased Design Premium CS4 a while ago. A program mistakenly deleted Photoshop CS4 (not the other programs though). I’m trying to recover the full functionality of Photoshop with all the filters, etc. I downloaded the DMG, but it doesn’t seem to allow me to register to get the full product?
Is there a way to do that I’m missing?
Hey Rachel, can you not just reinstall Photoshop from the CS4 Design Suite download above? If not, where is it getting hung up?
these links don’t work anymore
Yes, actually they do – you just need to make sure you’re following our download instructions very carefully.
I have a valid license for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 which I downloaded originally. I did not keep the download file. Dumb! Now I have a new computer with Windows 8. I have tried all the suggestions in various forums to find version 9 and download it or a trial, to no avail. Adobe 8 is on this site, but not 9. I have paid for a perfectly good program, have the license and can’t find a source for download. Help please!
Hi Anne, here are the direct download links for Adobe Acrobat X and 9.
Please make sure to keep a copy of the download file this time to be safe and sure for the next time you need to install the program.
