My chief complaint is the cost adobe is now charging for CC apps. I bought the entire suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat DC and Illustrator. There were several more apps included that I don’t use. Last year’s pricing was reasonable at $380 — this year, a jump of $300+ to upgrade and continue using last year’s apps are outrageous. And Adobe had shut down my apps last week even though my subscription did not expire until April 28. I hate the fact that everything is through the cloud and you never own anything and MUST pay the exorbitant fee every year. If I paid $1,000 for the Creative Suite at least I could use it as long as it functioned for the needs I had. I’m so unhappy with all apps being yearly on the cloud app it’s indefinable. Sadly many small designers will soon not be able to afford the subscriptions.
Sorry Leah, not sure what you mean… Creative Cloud has not ever had any price increases of that magnitude – $300+?? There is no explanation.
It sounds like you are in the U.S., and the only ever (small) price increase there was a couple years ago, for just 5-6% – and it was/is possible to completely avoid that! See how here:
Creative Cloud Price Is Changing: Here’s What That Means for You
So we’re trying to figure out what you could possibly be talking about. Perhaps you ceased being able to qualify for the discounted student/teacher pricing, and the cost then went up to normal? That’s the only possibility that comes to mind for you.
If so – and if you still qualify for the education discount – then please contact Adobe directly to sort that out:

Also we have never heard of Adobe shutting down any subscription “early,” so it sounds like more possible confusion or another issue somewhere.
The bottom line is what Adobe charges for for CC desktop apps has not changed significantly (certainly not more than the cost of inflation) since Creative Cloud was first announced in 2011 – that is, $50/month.

Hello
Greetings and welcome.
A friend has designed a project with layers, in PShop 2020.
Can I load that into my Pshop Elements program and tweak the layers?
If so, how do I load it in?
Regards,
Robmac
Hi Robmac,
If it’s a PSD file, then you could try just opening it. It may not work and or be complete, because Elements offers only a subset of the features that the full Photoshop supports.
Alternatively, you could try exporting a layered TIFF file from Elements, which Adobe Photoshop could then probably read… But of course, specific Photoshop features which are not supported by TIFF files could again be lost.

The only way to know for sure is to try it.
The last option is to simply download a free trial of the latest version of Adobe Photoshop, which anybody can run and is good for temporary or short-term use.
If you wish to continue after the end of the free trial, then it would be US$9.99/month thereafter.
