how do i download cs5? i’ve been trying and it keeps connecting me to cs6
Hi Jenn, you just have to follow the download instructions given in the article above, step-by-step very carefully, near the top of this page.
Then if you have any difficulties, try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection.
If you’re completely stuck, see this list of download tips.
I’m trying to install, did all the steps as listed above, then when I click on “file 1” for Photoshop it states “the file archive for cs5.1 is missing. you need all parts in the same folder in order to install this selection.”
I’m sorry, could you explain this? I need just the Photoshop, but do I need to download everything else too?
We have our serial for the Web Premium CS5.5, but need to load it all again!!
I’m just not understanding…thank you
Hello Heather, in theory you should just be able to download Photoshop to install and activate that with your CS5.5 suite license key.
If that doesn’t work, try downloading the whole suite and then just install PS from there.
For that message you’re getting, check these earlier comments for some help.
I tried to download a trial copy of Adobe Illustrator for school work but I could never get it to open. I had the Adobe guys tried to start it but they could not either. When I click on the file in my START the All Files, I get a message that states :
X The application failed to initialize properly (Oxc000001d7). Click on OK to terminate the application.
Hey Daphney, are you sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for CS5.5? That would be the most common cause for a message like that.
Also read through this Adobe Help Forum thread for some other ideas.
Hello, I wanted to download adobe cs5 master collection, but when I went to download the second part it gave the following message:
access denied
You do not have permission to access this server.
Reference # 18.59a30c9.1367672697.8c7d9254
Could you tell me what is that??
Welcome Alexandre, see our response to Jenn in the comments just above.
Every time I try to download CS5 it takes me right to CS6!! Anybody else having this issue??
Yes Jenn. You were when we responded to your same question above.
For those of you having the “access denied” problem, see the update at the bottom of this page: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369
Worked for me.
Thanks Nebber, it resolved my “Access denied” problem.
i’ve downloaded cs5.5 design standard.
it won’t install on my mac. It says shut down and restart, which i have. But still won’t load. Help?
Hi Paul, what is the exact error message it gives you, precisely? Try googling that.
@ heather
You need to rename the extension on the .txt file to .7z. Then the installer will work.
Well, you have to make sure you have both a .exe (small) and .7z (large) file… Sometimes browsers lose/change the extension – so any file you downloaded that has a .txt extension, or no extension, could be either one… so rename accordingly.
@ heather
What’s happening is that you’re clicking on file 1. Instead of doing that, click file 2 and it should work :)
I tried clicking the link for direct download and it says access denied.
Greetings Vivian, are you carefully following the download directions given above in the article?
I have followed the instructions laid out – and I have downloaded files successfully from here before.
However, Adobe haveappeared to have changed their trial download process. Now when I try to download a file from here I get a permission to download error (as though I am not logged in)
Nothing has changed, everything still works the same, the links are good… Sounds like you may have gotten ‘locked out,’ which happens sometimes esp. after a failed download. See #5 on this list of suggestions.
@heather
I’m not a very good programmer but you download both file 1 and file 2 after following the very important instructions. make sure they are together in same folder. run the exe or whatever and continue.
“Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5_5/osx10/DesignPremium_CS5_5_LS1.dmg” on this server.”
Why? :( please help
Hello Catrin, see the comment from Vivian just above, and read on down.
I have a DSL connection but the CS 5.5 Master collection trial download says it will take over 18 hrs to download. Why so long?
Hey there Brittany, what speed is your DSL connection? Master Collection is 5-6 GB in size, so it could take some hours depending on how fast your Internet is…
Here are some estimated download times to help you gauge the completion depending on the speed of your service.
Hi – I’m trying to download CS 5.5 Design Standard (Windows) and the download just hangs at “1 sec remaining, 1.1 of 1.2MB.”
I’ve tried both English and Western Europe.
I’ve tried in Chrome and Firefox.
What’s the solution?
Well, you could try a different computer or Internet connection – and definitely avoid Wi-Fi as it’s less reliable…
But there’s nothing wrong with the downloads or files themselves; plenty of folks use them every day with no problem.
Followed all the directions, downloaded successfully, but once extracted I only have a readme file, and no setup.exe file. Help?
@Peg Peter
Found it. Had to search within the folder and it was there. Not sure why it didn’t show up normally. Thanks!
The links no longer work.
They do now.
I have downloaded cs5 photoshop and creative suite, both have fully downloaded but will not extract due to missing files. I’ve tried two separate extracting programs.
Hi Carla, you should never need separate extracting programs here – everything is self-contained… On Windows you just download both the .EXE file and the .7Z file, put them in the same folder, and then run (double-click) the executable file.
What exact message does it give you when you try that? If you posted the text of it, then we could try to help further.
When I put both files in the same folder and double click the exe file it says “The file archive part of Adobe Cs5 Master Collection is missing. You need All parts in the same folder to extract adobe master collection. Please download all parts.”
I have downloaded master collection and Cs5 photoshop twice. I have windows 7 64 bit, Intel 2 quad and 4 gigs ram.
Well Carla, for that message you’re getting, check these earlier comments for some help.
I have CS 5.5 successfully downloaded and the files are in the same folder, but when I click on the .exe folder and set a destination to “Extract Adobe CS 5.5 Premium Production”, and press “Next”, I get an error message that says “A problem occurred while extracting the archive. Please try downloading Adobe CS 5.5 Premium Production again”…
Do I really have to download again?
Hey there Cam, please see this related comment exchange and hopefully that will help.
Also make sure the downloaded files are located somewhere on the same disk drive that you want to install the programs to.
Hey! I tried to re-download and the other comments didn’t help. I re-downloaded twice and I still get the same result.
Well, our best advice would be to try downloading using a different web browser, computer, or Internet connection… something strong and fast and not Wi-Fi.
Also make sure both files are downloaded into the same folder on the same disk drive that you want to install the product on.
Just to let everyone know – for Photoshop CS5.1 on Windows above, the file names are different for File 1 and File 2. The .exe is named Photoshop_12_1_LS1 and the .7z is named Photoshop_12_LS1.
So if you have downloaded both files and are getting the error message that you do not have the file archive, then what you need to do is rename one of the files so that they both have the exact same name. If you don’t do that, it won’t work and you’ll keep getting the error message each time you try it.
Thanks for trying to help Emily, but we’re not seeing what you’re seeing… In all cases in the links table above, the Photoshop CS5.1 file names contain “12_1” and not just “12.”
Not sure what happened in your case that the filenames didn’t match – perhaps something strange on your computer?
But the source/origin files on Adobe’s servers that these links direct to are definitely matched, and agree with each other for Photoshop 12.1 (aka CS5.1).
