I am trying to install Design Standard CS5.5. I have downloaded both files. One downloaded as an .exe file and the other downloaded as a .txt file. When I ran the .exe file it did not recognize the .txt file. So, I converted it to .7z and then ran the .exe file. This time, it recognized the file and then uncompressed it into a .txt file. However, nothing else happened. What do I need to do from this point?
Thanks for any help.
Not sure Marc, that’s a real puzzler… It sounds like something’s funky with your computer saving everything as .txt files?? The extraction should create a new directory on your desktop, not a text file… Never heard anything like that ever before, either here or elsewhere – sorry!
Hi,
I have a licensed copy of CS5.5 Master Suite (Student edition). I need to install it onto my new iMac which doesn’t have a disc drive. I found a direct link (English – File 1) on the Adobe website which I have downloaded. Unfortunately now when I click on the dmg file I get a message saying file not recognised. Any ideas?
Hey there Stephen, for that message on your Mac please see this previous reply to Lauren.
Ok Thanks I’ll give it another go.
none of the links for the suites work any more for mac. it just says “you don’t have permission to access this”
They do all work, you just need to carefully follow the download instructions at the top of this page.
There’s also a list of suggestions if you get stuck.
Is it just me or are none of the links working anymore! Keep on getting a ‘you dont have permission’ message, anyone else?
ok, I got it, wasn’t signed in properly. This is such a great resource!
My downloads are very slow and get interrupted over and over again (six times already!). I can’t seem to be able to download the software successfully. And yes, I did disable my anti-virus software, and I did log into my Adobe Account. I give up!!!
Sorry Eddie, these are large files – are trying to do this over Wi-Fi? What speed is your connection, is it strong and fast? Did you try with a different browser or computer?
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/STAM/CS5_5/win32/MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.exe” on this server.
What’s up with that?
Well, you have to carefully follow the instructions in the article for the links to work. See a few comments above yours if you need help.
I am, and was signed in to my Adobe account, have no blockers on, and still get the “don’t have permission to access” message.
Suggestions?
Yes, definitely – here are our suggestions.
i have just reinstalled cs5.5 after my program files got messed up. i deactivated and uninstalled first, reinstalled from the download, it starts to install but after i put my serial in (which ticks green) and input my login details it stops and just says error-1. what is this error, and what can i do?
Not sure Richard, that sounds strange – what is the exact text of the error message?
Also, did you run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool then reboot after you uninstalled the software to make sure everything was off and you had a clean reinstall?
I ran the cleaner, rebooted and tried to reinstall. Started fine until about 30% then came up with Exit Code 7 – 132 errors & 184 warnings. It suggested i restart the computer and try again. I did that and again, it started downloading fine, installed up to premiere pro then stopped and says – setup encountered error (-1) during install, please restart and try again.
I have since installed it fine on my work computer so I’m guessing the problem is with my home computer?
Also, if it is and I was to do a complete system restore, will Adobe then think it is another computer? or will I be fine to install it?
Oddly, I have tried again and it all installs apart from Indesign. Why would this be? Should I just try to install Indesign on its own again? is it because I have a trial version of CS6 Indesign on?
Sorry you’re still having issue Richard. The CS6 version of InDesign should not conflict with the CS5.5 version, and you should be able to install and have them both on the same computer at the same time.
For the rest, these two resources should hopefully be helpful:
Errors “Exit Code: 6,” “Exit Code: 7” when installing CS5, CS5.5
Any Problems Downloading or Installing Adobe CS5 or CS5.5?
I just bought a new iMac 27″ screen and a USB super drive since the iMac doesn’t come with a disk drive. I bought CS5 Design Premium full version and it is taking forever to install. After a few attempts of getting the disk to read, it finally started to install. I left it run overnight. When I woke up it was only 33% of the way through the installation and had 20+ hours to go. I stopped the installation because I know it should not take that long, I work on a Mac for a living and even though this is an iMac, it has nothing on it and should install in lightning speed. Could it be the disk, disk drive or an app that hasn’t been installed to to make the installation go smoothly?
Thanks!
PS, I’ve restarted my machine and am trying it one more time. Grrr.
That sounds really very strange April, not sure… Maybe a driver problem, or out of date? Does your disc look okay, and clean? Don’t think it’s anything with the Creative Suite software itself…
Why don’t you try copying the entire contents of the DVD to your hard disk, and then install it from there? That way you could at least better isolate where the problem is happening.
@ ProDesignTools
Thanks, it did work when I tried to fake the Photoshop install process.
Need to download CS 5.5 Web Premium – have gone round and round in circles on the web…
Finally thought I’d just download the trial version first, then add in my serial number etc…
Have tried your CS 5.5 Web Premium TRIAL links, but takes me to a web page with the following message:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/WEBB/CS5_5/osx10/WebPremium_CS5_5_LS4.dmg” on this server.

HELP !
Ah ha, if at first you don’t succeed !
I have taken a closer look at your Note: Very Important Instructions…
After doing step 1. and 2., when the Adobe Download Assistant tried to start downloading CS6, I cancelled it – then clicked on the TRIAL link on your web page – it is now downloading (time will tell). Thank you.
Good, sounds like you got it Alison.
I’ve already tried downloading the master collection the link to which worked the first time. However, the network connection failed in the middle of it and the download failed. Now I’m trying to download it again but it is giving me an access denied page. Do I just need to wait a few days or am I missing something?
Hey Alex, usually you just need to wait. If we could figure out why Adobe’s servers sometimes block people out, we’d have many fewer comments here… But in the meantime, check out our list of download tips.
Thank you :) I clicked “save link as” to download the files instead. However, now when I try to extract the archive, a window appears telling me that there has been an error and to download the file again.
Well, it sounds like you may have a spotty network connection and aren’t getting the download intact, despite repeated attempts… But there are large files, so you do need a strong connection (avoid Wi-Fi).
please can anyone can tell me the product key of adobe indesign cs5.5
Hi Ankur, you can get a serial number for the latest Creative Suite products directly from Adobe.
My original iMac has gone back to the shop for repair and I was loaned an iMac without a DVD drive hence I am here.
I have tried to download CS5.5 Master but for some reason I get the error message “file too large for your computer” it is going to a 2Tb drive that has 1.5 Tb space available. The file is only 6.1 Gb. Can you point me in the right direction to get this file down?
Wow, that’s a head-scratcher Rob… Is that the exact message your computer gives you? Or where precisely is it coming from? We can’t find anything at all on that text related to Adobe products or downloads.
Unfortunately yes that is the correct message that comes through Chrome. I am now getting an access denied message when I hit file 1 on the mac download.
Don’t think that file size warning is coming from Adobe – try a different browser and see if anything different happens.
Also see this list of suggestions about the access message which is coming from Adobe’s servers.
just been through an Adobe agent who gave me a link from the chat browser. It is currently downloading but very slowly. The link is slightly different as they are using a trials3 link in the URL instead of trials2. Will have a look at the suggestions you are pointing to and see if I can get this going properly. I am downloading in Chrome perhaps I will try in Safari.
When I try to open it I get this:
“The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 is missing. You need all the parts in the same folder to extract Adobe Photoshop CS5.1.
Please download all parts.”
Hey there, check these earlier comments if you’re getting that message.
I just wanted to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH for providing these links.
I am a recent university grad who purchased the master collection cs5.5 from a design college last year. Recently my computer had software and hardware problems that required me to wipe the disk out completely. Even when I had backed up my computer, I couldn’t install cs5.5 again. I called the college where I bought the software from and they couldn’t help me, and I event chatted with the Adobe support chat and they were pretty much useless.
I really needed to get my Adobe software back since I need it for post grad career applications and my industry. So thanks so much once again!
Hey, that’s great Jelly – glad to help! It’s always so nice to hear a story and comments like yours, thanks for letting us know… and good luck with your future endeavors!
