Question: Want to upgrade from CS5 with these trials. Will they expire after 30 days?
If I need to enter a serial number to make them permanent, where do I get that from?
Do I use my CS5 serial, or do I get a new serial (if so, how?)?
Mac user on CS5
Hi Will, these are direct links to all the original CS5.5 free trials from Adobe – so yes, they will expire after 30 days… Your CS5 license key will not activate them permanently; CS5.5 has its own serial numbers and you would need to purchase an upgrade separately.
One question arises though: why would you want to upgrade to CS5.5 instead of going with CS6 instead (free trials here) – which is the latest and greatest, and is a better release on all counts?
Finding the older versions can be difficult (and often risky), although in this case if you really want CS5.5 then you can still get it direct from Adobe.
Hope this helps!
Not sure why Adobe has the absolute worst manner in which they post items for download. Obviously there are problems, but let’s continue to blame the user trying to download since we are too lazy to rectify the problem from our end. I love how the only link that doesn’t directly go the LATEST software is unable to display even when people are signed in to their accounts. Designers from Adobe with a sense of customer service: start your own company, you’ll make a mint from all the people that really don’t want to spend days trying to fix something they paid hundreds to thousands of dollars for.
Sorry you’re having problems. Most visitors are grateful that we have these direct download links for older versions of Adobe software, and nearly everyone is able to download here with no problem. Occasionally some folks do have issues, but we do our best to try to help them. Most the time difficulties that arise can be solved by a careful reading of the download instructions we posted. Good luck to you.
whenever i click on the download links, it says access denied. what do i do?
You just need to carefully follow the download instructions given in the article before trying to click on any of the links in the table.
Big thanks for keeping these online, I’ve been looking everywhere for a copy of the cs5.5 creative suite and was starting to get the horrible feeling I’d have to upgrade to cs6 to get back up and running
Sure, you bet Tom – what did you have, a system crash? We get a lot of folks here who are trying to recover their software after a disk failure.
When I started having system issues I basically wiped everything on the machine, added a new hard drive with the intention of installing everything from scratch. I naively assumed Adobe would keep a download link in my account area of their site alongside the serial number, as it turned out they don’t, and the only disc versions I have of the suite were for CS4 on PC. I spent a few days looking around for a legitimate download of CS5 (surprisingly hard to find) and luckily stumbled across a link to this site from one of the Adobe Forums just as as I was about to completely give up.
As much as I like the Creative Suite I’ve always tried to avoid upgrading every incremental version – the difference between CS4 and CS5.5 was good, but for me the jump from CS2 to CS4 really felt like you were getting your money’s worth
Thanks Tom for the explanation. That’s strange that CS5.5 was no longer available from your online account to download. If you ask Adobe, they say your product link is kept for three years after your purchase:
How long is my download available?
Whatever you do, make sure to make an offline backup of the installation files and keep it in a safe place for any future need.
Hi,
thanks for providing these links.
However, although I have logged in with my Adobe ID, I am seeing “access denied” on the links (I wanted to download the trial of Photoshop CS5.1 please).
Thanks for helping, this certainly is a useful resource.
yours

Hey there Neil, make sure you’re carefully following the download instructions given in the article, and if you still have difficulties then try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (not Wi-Fi) – or check out this list of tips.
The links work fine. You simply have to visit the link provided in the instructions, https://www.TryElements.com/ – which will install the required cookie from Adobe. Then come back to the download page and get whatever trial program you want. Works fine. READ the instructions. Thanks for providing these links.
You bet – and thank you for explaining it in a different way!
I have CS5 Design Premium (and the serial numbers) and purchased a new computer, but the download link is not showing in my account page. How can I a find get back to CS5 Premium to download my files?
Hi Kelly, is it CS5 or CS5.5? All the CS5.5 downloads you can find on this page… and we also have the original CS5 trials here if you need those instead.
Can you include the Contribute 6.5 Direct download link?
The original Contribute CS5 must be kept on the original CS5.0 DDL page.
Sure, here are the direct links for Contribute CS6.5, without the Akamai Download Manager or Adobe Download Assistant:
Adobe Contribute CS6.5 – Windows (575 MB): File 1 File 2
English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese
Adobe Contribute CS6.5 – Mac OS (376 MB): File 1
English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese
Be sure to follow the same download instructions from the page above.
I downloaded the Master Collection File 1 and File 2… I purchased and have all the discs but have misplaced disc 2, so I cannot reinstall when I restored my computer recently. I’ve been searching all over for a CS5.5 that can be downloaded since I have serials and am ready to go otherwise, so needless to say I was excited to find this site.
I am having a problem though.. every time I try to run the File 1 exe it seems to be unpacking fine for several minutes and then says:
“A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder.”
Well, there is still some 400gb available on my hard drive, as I did a restore and haven’t finished putting everything back on. I also am simply extracting to the desktop, so there shouldn’t be a write privileges thing. I’ve tried “run as administrator” as well as putting them in a different folder, like Downloads or Documents, which obviously have write privileges. I’ve restarted the computer several times, deleted the files and re-downloaded three times. Nothing seems to work.
Any advice?
Welcome Jeff, sorry you’re having difficulties and we’re happy to try to help… Please see this related comment and response to see if that solves it.
Thanks, I think I missed that one when I was polling through all the comments… however, all the files are on the same hard disk.
The good news is, I found the other disc so I don’t need to use these. However, I’m sorry I couldn’t find an answer if someone else has the same issue.
Glad you got it sorted out Jeff, one way or the other – and thanks for following up back here to let us know!
InDesign CS5.5 stopped working. Tried reinstalling and deleted preferences, still stuck. Help.
Sorry you’re having difficulties Luette. What problem are you getting with it in particular – what message or error are you seeing when you try to install the software? Have you checked on Adobe’s Support Pages?
I hope you can help me. I have downloaded the InDesign 5.5 for Macs trial version successfully. I open it and click on the 30 day trial button. It opens and all looks good – then I get a message saying that it is not properly licensed and it quits. How can I fix this? I made sure that I was logged under my Adobe ID and I also cleaned my Mac before install with the Adobe Cleaner (from the Adobe site).
I’m stumped now.
Well it sounds like might have had a previous Adobe installation on there if you were using the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool? If it detects the traces of a previous install, it won’t renew for another free trial period.
Does this work with the student version? Just got a new iMac and realized it has no DVD drive so I can’t install from original discs.
Yes Kris, you should be able to download these free trials and activate them permanently for any version (retail, education, volume) with your valid purchased key… The product licensing will vary according to your entered serial number.
When attempting to download I get the following error:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/MDIA/CS5_5/win32/DesignPremium_CS5_5_LS1.7z” on this server.

Any ideas?
Hello David, all the links are fine, you just have to ensure you’re carefully following the six-step download instructions given in the article. You need to do that before trying to click on the links.
If that doesn’t work for you, then try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection (no Wi-Fi)… Or see this list of additional suggestions.
Hi, I was trying to do a free trial download of the CS5.5 Web premium for a Mac, and I got the following message:
‘Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/STAM/CS5_5/osx10/MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.dmg” on this server.
Reference #18.f6623e17.1358629595.14eaaa5’
Can anybody inform me what the problem is?
Thanks in advance. John
Sure John, please see the comment directly above yours.
Followed all directions, downloaded again and again, but download stops at ~1.4GB instead of downloading the whole thing.
Hey there Mick, what type of Internet connection are you using? Is it fast and solid (and not Wi-Fi)? These are large files so try something different, with a cable definitely, and another browser or computer possibly as well.
I just had a computer chat with Shivashankar and he states that CS5.x is NOT available on their website … for download …
I don’t have an Antivirus program (I have images for restoring) and I allowed pop-up/cookies from Adobe ..
Just had another comment from Shivashankar —
“Shivashankar:
I am sorry to inform you that, we do not have the download link of the previous version software.”
If anyone can send me a link, then thanks to anyone who can help!
Hi Paul, some of the bottom-line customer service reps aren’t aware of the existence of these downloads on Adobe’s servers, is all.
But, they most definitely are there – and need to be for every customer who has ever ordered a download version of the CS5.5 software from Adobe… These downloads have to be available, and start by default in free trial mode, but are convertible to permanent with your valid purchased serial number.
So here we’ve got all those links, and you just have to carefully follow the download instructions given near the top of the page and you should be fine… Once the download starts, your browser will show you that these files are indeed coming from an adobe.com domain.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for these links. I lost my Photoshop CS5 Extended disk and was unable to upgrade or replace my computer because of it as I was unwilling to lose my Photoshop. A call to Adobe support did not produce anything but frustration. It would save a lot of trouble and bad will if Adobe’s technical training would tell them to give the URL to this page if someone has an issue. Not everyone can upgrade to CS6 because it will not work on Vista computers. Now if I can only get my questions about CS6 cloud stuff answered for when I am ready to upgrade. (I have to save a bit to get a new computer and save a little more for the upgrade.) Not everyone who buys Adobe products works for a company who can upgrade both computers and the program at the same time. I’m just a little old hobbyist.
You’re welcome Debi, glad to help out – and thanks for letting us know. A couple quick things… If you take a look at the Adobe’s CS6 System Requirements, it will actually run on Microsoft Windows Vista but is “not officially supported.” Whether that stops you or not is of course up to you.
On the Cloud, what questions did you have? We would be happy to answer any of them (accurately) for you… Start by taking a look at this extensive Creative Cloud FAQ and then please leave a comment there for whatever further you’d like to know!
Dear all,
I would like to ask from your help because I want to be a designer and just study about design – so please all friends, tell me or give me some videos that can teach me to be a designer please?
Sure Heng, you could start off by downloading the free CS6 trials for Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign – and then get started using them by watching these 30 hours of free video tutorials…
We also have links to over 1,000 pages of free e-books for CS6 which will help add to that training.
Finally there is a terrific new resource out – a free 200-page Design Suite Basics book you can download that just focuses on learning those three tools from the ground up. It actually may be the best place to begin your learning from.
Good luck!
Hi Pro Design,
I have 1 question for you, how to create tables in a WordPress post like here?
Plugin? Please tell me about it…
Thanks!
Hello Puspitasari, it’s the <table> directive in HTML (with many rows and columns, a header and footer), along with some CSS styling and formatting from our WP theme.
I followed instructions and signed in with Adobe Download Assistant … but when I try to download any of these,
“Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “https://…/AdobeProducts/STAM/CS5_5/win32/MasterCollection_CS5_5_LS1.7z” on this server.
Reference #18.d95ef50.1360578676.2d0e6fde ”
I tried with 4 different browsers “Mozilla, IE, Chrome, Safari” and I tried with all different settings with cookies and was trying by turning off my antivirus software, and my connection is 6 Mbit/s …. and to hell with it I can’t download :/ … help please
Sorry you’re having troubles with that Mike… It’s clear you read the directions near the top of the article, but have you also checked the comments above or reviewed this list of download suggestions?
Hopefully that will help you get it going.
I keep getting a
“Access Denied

message when I try to download the files.
Hey there Nai, please see the previous reply just above your comment – thanks.

@ john
Try a different browser…..did not work with Safari, so I tried Google Chrome and it is fine!
