I’m still not a 100% convinced that the cloud would be the way to go for me yet, but I would like to try it and see. I have 2 CS5.5 MC licenses, one Mac and one PC…
Hey there David, you’ll definitely want to check out our new article:
Adobe Creative Cloud vs. CS6 Comparison: Which Should You Get?
sounds like an interesting way to go…things in the cloud..wow..i am going to be checking into this as i havent done the upgrade to my cs5 yet
Hi BJ, if you want to try it out for yourself, note there is a free 30-day trial available for the Creative Cloud (where you receive working access to everything for a month), as well as a free level of ongoing membership.
I like the idea of Creative community & collaborating with others will give me inspiration and enhance my creative output. Thank you for the opportunity and please include me in the giveaway!
I can’t wait to have a go at using Creative Cloud! It sounds pretty awesome!

Really hoping to win the Creative Cloud membership! My poor little non-profit can’t afford to buy the suite, but we are in desperate need of a branding/video redesign. This would help us greatly :)
I’m wondering why these products are so much more expensive in Europe compared to the USA. For example the Master Collection costs €3,568.81 = $4,402.02 in the Netherlands. Compare that with $2,599.00 in the USA. The difference is $1803.02 which would easily afford return-air-tickets and a short stay to personally get the software and smuggle it back in the baggage. Has anyone seen this in a tax-free shop by any chance?
Doing some more math, if major upgrades are done with intervals of 5 years or less, the cloud would be cheaper than purchasing the full product now (at €59,03 per month).
Thanks for your thoughts Louis. One point is you have to compare apples-to-apples: the USA price you quoted is before state & local sales taxes, but the European price you gave is after-tax (VAT). The difference is quite a bit less if you look at the pre-tax cost in both countries.
Outside of that, you’ll still find differences and Adobe has explained in the past why this is so.
Regarding getting the Creative Cloud vs. buying/upgrading to the full (permanent) product, you’ll find more analysis of that here.
Hope this helps.
Would love to check out the new features since cs3, and see just how convenient the cloud option could potentially be. I’ll also add that not having to boot windows on my mac just to work on adobe would be nice. I personally think it’s ridiculous that adobe does not offer that sort of cross-platform support. I get it, so the inevitable “Mr. Know-it-all” can save replying with an explanation of why this is adobe’s policy. I merely am expressing my own opinion. Good luck to all entries!
Hey there Joseph, we won’t reply with an explanation but will say that Adobe has been making more steps in the cross-platform direction, even outside of Creative Cloud… Lightroom and Photoshop Elements are now both multi-platform – one owner can install them on both operating systems.
It’s also possible now to buy Creative Suite 6 “permanent” licenses that will run on both platforms.
Thanks for your thoughts and for stopping by.
i think the creative cloud is what the future holds for designers, and adobe is taking the initiative in this regard
cheers!
I can only see Cloud as a solution and the end result of the entire CS collection. I can not tell you how much this will revolutionize the photo, video, audio, web collaboration and virtual office industry, but my guess is it can only be positive and lucrative.
I am a full-time film student and I own CS5 PP at the moment, I couldn’t afford 5.5 and the CS6 subscription service is looking very attractive. I have always been pushed to Final Cut by the instructors but now looking at what Final Cut has become, we can only conclude it is a joke to the entire creative industry. They lost and Adobe will win with the Cloud. I will continue to use Adobe now and into the future. I am sold.

This is a great option for Adobe, would be nice to have this.
oh I would so love to win this!
I’m an art type generally, and a few years ago progressed into the digital world! I’ve learned a lot using PSE (various versions from 5-9!) and my eyes are being opened all the time to the possibilities with way more advances in software! I love to learn so much and feel there is a whole world of creativity inside me just waiting to be released!!!! This would make it all easier and that would lead to one super-fulfilled potential digital artist and designer!!!!!
Thanks for the chance to win!!

Would really like to see what Muse will become.
I think everything will eventually on the cloud. This Creative Cloud is a nice step to the future for Adobe.
I just want it. It is my identity.
I want I want I want
I’ve got Creative Cloud and it’s fantastic. The cloud saving/sharing service is geared more towards groups and projects with multiple people working on them but even as an individual, having access to all of Adobe’s products and updates as soon as they are released is incredible. Well done Adobe!
Getting a free year of this to continue my membership would be incredible.
@ ProDesignTools
Oh man, my wife is not gonna like this. I now have even more reason to throw down $1000 to upgrade from CS3 before the year is through… Mac at home, Windows at work. Nope, she definitely is not going to like this. Thanks for the info!
Wish Adobe would perhaps give a discount to young professionals striving to get into the computer graphics industry. I would like to try Cloud but a bit cautious with the monthly pricing plan and how it will evolve down the road.
Greetings Janelle, if you’re a student (or could become one by taking a course at a local college) then you could qualify for a discount of up to 80% on the traditional Adobe products… and there’s also an educational discount available for the Creative Cloud as well.
What a great option for creative people!
I like the concept of a cloud, but still doubt the security. Would love to try it out, via winning the contest… and I promise to blog/tweet about my Cloud Adventure!
Great prize, wish to win!
Although I can see the benefits of ‘cloud’ based services for an organisation with multiple users (IT management must be soooo much easier), I’m undecided on the merits for solo users. I have my suite on my desktop and laptop and don’t use any thin client that would need off-device hosting. But would be good to give it a try for a year ;-). I think that in the future, with the subscription model having such major advantages for software providers, that there should be, and probably will be, a ‘pay as you go’ option for people who use the software less, akin to the PAYG/PM option in mobile/cell phones. Anyway, thanks for running the giveaway ;-)
