  1. Have been an early user and supporter of LR 1,2,&3. Looking forward to learning more about LR4. It would be nice to win LR4.

  2. I would use it to edit all my photos. With trying to buy lenses for my new canon 60d, I can’t afford to buy Lightroom also.

  3. I am using LR2 right now for all my initial editing and some enhancements. I definitely want to upgrade to 4 when it comes out. I know I am already missing out on a few features in the 3 upgrade. I have not run the beta version, mostly because I don’t have time. Trying to get my business off the ground while working at another job… you know the drill.

  4. I am very disappointed with the beta of Lightroom 4. Two years ago, I submitted a series of suggestions to Adobe requesting features to be added to the then next version. I asked for:

    – A method to apply selected attributes to selected records (2010-10-29.)
    – Word Wrap in Slideshow text fields (2010-10-29.)
    – Face recognition (people recognition) (2010-10-29.)
    – Add a function to find duplicates (2010-10-07.)
    – Allow deletion of photos from within smart collections (2010-10-07.)
    – Track 10ths of seconds in metadata/file names (2010-10-31.)
    – Lightroom needs to directly support scanners (2010-11-18.)
    – Allow Assignment of a Location Tag to a GPS Location (2010-11-08.)
    – Enable multi-user operations for a Lightroom catalog (2011-01-08.)
    – Provide a “Family” license” for Family, Non-business use of Lightroom (2011-01-09.)
    – Add a function to find and replace metadata items (2011-02-20.)

I’ve cursorily reviewed the new beta but don’t find where any of these have been implemented. There have been extensive discussion of the multiuser/shared catalog on a network drive issue over the last 2 years, but Adobe keeps giving excuses rather than providing a solution. It appears that they don’t commit the resources needed to support this almost-great product.

  5. I have been using Lightroom since the original beta and am currently using version 3.6.

I have been using Lightroom 4 beta since January, and if pressed, I would have to pick Soft Proofing as the feature that will most improve my workflow. I can’t wait to upgrade to the final version.

  6. I do think all Adobe products are really good. I will use Lightroom to organize my father’s [81 yr old] photos! His organization skills need a little polishing up! I wish I could get all Adobe products. [sigh]

  7. I have seen a one hour demo of the changes in LR4 at the PhotoPro Expo 2012 in Cincinnati, OH. I have currently LR3 and would love to have LR4. Will there be an upgrade available for purchase? I would love to win it.

  8. I use LR3 at the moment, and I use it to organize, convert, and edit my photos. I am a photographer in Maine, and find that LR3 is so easy to use and can do simply wonderful things! :]

  9. I am currently using LR2 because my computer is old and could not run LR3, but will be updating soon and thus need to also update software.

  10. I currently use LR 3. I haven’t downloaded the beta of 4, but it sounds like it has some great new features. I will probably eventually upgrade to LR 4, because it will allow me enhanced editing options for my photos.

  11. Have been using Lightroom since it first came out. Love it! Now using Lightroom 3 and I have downloaded the beta but haven’t used it much yet.

  12. I have been using Lightroom since version 1 came out years ago. I am now on version 3 and it is my go-to software for all aspects of my commercial and fine art photography. I especially like the Lens Correction feature.

I expect to upgrade to Lightroom 4 and heard a rumour that it will have the ability to correct moire for the new Nikon D800e. Can you confirm this? Thanks.
