  1. I have been running Lightroom 3.6 and use it often for photo organization and retouching. I downloaded the beta 4 version on the very first day offered Jan 10. It is great. Love the changes in the Develop module and the book module. So much easier to link to Flickr as well.

I plan to buy it as soon as available but have no idea about the cost because my versions are at University Student Discount prices. Don’t know what the upgrade will cost.

I plan to use Lightroom 4 as my main software tool for photos. I have and use the Adobe Suite CS5 for web design and photoshop. Thank you!

  2. I have LR3 now. I probably won’t upgrade to version 4. LR3 is a great software product for all digital photographers.

  3. I’ll upgrade from Version 3.

I’ve not tried the Beta, but a friend told me about the features, and I love the idea of having more control of middle range tones. Also, I really want Lightroom and Flickr to get along better – that republish business not being optional was irritating me. I found a workaround which I don’t like, but…

I’ll use Lightroom 4 for the many, many photos I take.

  5. Do you plan to buy or upgrade to Lightroom 4, and what version are you running now?

    – Yes, I am mainly using version 2!

Have you run the beta or checked the new features in LR4? Which is your favorite?

    – Yes, I have been in the beta and went a little beyond that with my use for beta/alpha.

What do you plan to do with Adobe Lightroom 4, how would/will you use it?

    – Organize, correct, simplify, help me with my Photo classes!

  6. I have a large collection of photos (mainly in RAW format), so Lightroom 4 I would be very useful to organize them and perform basic editing. In pasts I had tried LR2 and it was very good, but with the new improvements LR4 seem really fantastic.

    Thanks for this contest.

  10. Currently I use software from another company, but I do not really like. I need software that allows me to organize, and also edit my photos, so at the moment I’m very uncertain whether to buy Lightroom or Photoshop Elements and I’m trying to understand what is best for my needs.

  11. I use Lightroom 2 (LOVE IT) and would love to try the upgrades (and win a free copy of course). I would use Lightroom 4 for all of my “on the fly” editing and organizing of my photos. I love being able to file them for easy access. I want to learn and experiment with every feature.

  12. What do you plan to do with Adobe Lightroom 4, how would/will you use it?

Honestly, I am a bit fed up with my current software ‘Aperture’ on iMac. I want to replace it. Winning it will definitely prompt me to move in split second.

I will use Adobe Lightroom 4 for my collection of professional as well as personal library. I do a lot of retouching and need something that does this trustfully. As much I have known about Lightroom, I know I want it. I hope I win!

  14. I’ve haven’t been at this too long but have used LR 3 for 99% of my processing—even after getting PS. Haven’t tried the beta but I’m looking forward to the improved Basic Development layout and functionality that I’ve been reading about. Also, perhaps more important, the soft proofing ability.

Planning to buy. Using Lightroom beta to check it out.

Beta of LR 4. The flexible local adjustments of fx white balance are excellent and my favorite.

    * What do you plan to do with Adobe Lightroom 4, how would/will you use it?

I am a RAW shooter, and need LR to work with RAW files from my Sony to get the most out of my camera.

  16. I’ve had every version of Lightroom and love every new innovation. Having recently had to take early retirement from work, I’m hoping that I can still afford to upgrade. It would be even better to win a free copy of course:-).

I’m a little afraid to download the beta version in case the end price is beyond me…..but I am tempted and will probably do so.

  17. Presently run v3.6 but since the 4beta came out have not used it at all! v4 is a substantial upgrade with much better intuitive controls in the Develop module and the soft proofing make it a must for me!!

  18. :) I just got the CS5.5 education Creative Master suite for the insane price of 2/22/12. Whoa. I eagerly await its arrival :) Heck with Lightroom 4 I’d probably have to buy a new darned PC :) and spend hours of time learning them so I could really make some wicked cool photo books with the book module (which I love and can’t wait to use more!)

I always wanted to be an artist–but not having the ability to draw… well it was a setback… :) LOL but I can do create some great images with digital photography & Adobe products. Relax–the world is safe–I’m keeping my day job. :)

  20. I am definitely liking the new exposure/contrast controls in the LR4 beta. Not that you couldn’t do this before but it’s now a lot more streamlined and speeds up my work flow considerably.
