  1. I am currently running the beta of LR4 and LOVE it! I don’t currently own any version of LR, but have tried trial versions of Photoshop CS5 and Elements 9 and 10, as well as LR3. I find LR easier to navigate because I am a beginner photographer and don’t have to search as much for things.

  2. Do you plan to buy or upgrade to Lightroom 4, and what version are you running now?

I do, being a Santa Monica College student I have to have the latest version of it. I needed Lightroom 3 and that’s what I have.

Have you run the beta or seen the new features in LR4? Which is your favorite?

I haven’t run the beta, I am waiting to surprise myself for when I get it. From reading about the new features, my favorite so far is the soft proofing. Totally love that.

What do you plan to do with Adobe Lightroom 4, how would/will you use it?

I plan to use it for school, organize my photos, and for the business I want to start.

  4. I have been trying out the Lightroom 4 beta and love the changes in the Develop module. Photos are much easier to edit and turn out beautiful.

Currently using Lightroom 3 and will upgrade as soon as it is officially announced! Would love to win a free copy so I can put the money towards other photography stuff!

  7. I currently have LR3 and LR4 beta. It is such a time saver!! I am going to school for my bachelor’s in photography and learning LR3 is fun for classes, especially when I am able to tell the instructors, I have LR4 beta and all the things that are in it. The school will probably make us get LR4 next year, but I would love to keep my costs down in any way possible.

The develop modules are so much more easier to use. I like the book module also for those creative types.

This would help get my stuff in order for school and beyond.

  8. Yes, I do plan to upgrade to LR4. I did run the beta version and its cool. I like the new video functionality of it. With the new LR4, I plan to use it more with regards to video aside from using it on the regular photo editing.

  9. Currently running 3.6.

Not sure whether I’ll be upgrading. Some new features seem nice, but not compelling. I am just an amateur home/travel photographer.

    Haven’t tried the beta.

New features that look most interesting are:

    * Highlight and shadow recovery, but I already use DxO for that

    * Location-based organization would be nice if it would work for non-GPS cameras e.g. by correlating my phone or dedicated GPS times to the photo times or simply allowing me to tag with location manually

    * White balance brush — occasionally useful, but I can already brush with color

    * Organizing video better would be nice

    * Better email integration would be nice, but not such a big improvement

  10. I’ve never used Lightroom. I would like to give it a try to see if it would be more efficient than my current image proofing prep method.

  11. What photographer can do anything without Lightroom these days… From white balance correction and infrared simulation to HDR without extra software, to just the fine tune image tweaks and cataloging ~ Lightroom is a must!

  12. I haven’t used Lightroom till now. But I really love all the Video options that have been implemented in there. I think those can become very handy for first hand color correction on set and even back from the shoot in my job as a filmmaker.

  13. Just been given a new position at work & have no idea what I’m doing. Need it so I can learn how to look after our electronic media for a boss who won’t pay for staff training. Please?

  14. I’m currently running LR3, and can’t wait for LR4. As I’ve switched completely over to shooting in RAW, LR is an essential tool.
