For anyone having difficulty with this, I was getting all the same “not found/javascript” errors, the answer is to follow all the instructions and TRY A DIFFERENT BROWSER. I’m on a Mac (with Mavericks, trying to download CS3 Design Premium), Safari would not work, but Chrome worked like a charm.
It took forever and looked like it was hanging for awhile, I went to bed and left it, thinking I’d have to try again in the morning, but when I woke up it had downloaded the whole thing and I was good to go.
Don’t give up, the links DO work, it may just take a little effort.
THANKS, prodesigntools.com, I would have been screwed if it weren’t for this page!!
Sure, you’re welcome and glad to help!

I have to say I am very impressed with the customer service of this website. Thank you for being so responsive! I am attempting to download Design Premium CS4 on Windows 8 machine (I know it may not be compatible, but I wanted to try).
I followed the directions, logged in to Adobe ID, downloaded the 2 program files ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.exe and ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.7z. When I run the .exe file, it almost completes and then a message box appears and says:
“A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder.”
I have almost 30GB of free space on the computer, plus Administrator privileges – just to be sure I right-clicked the icon and chose “Run as Administrator.” (I also tried this install when my machine was running Windows 7 and got the same message.)
I have deleted all temporary files, deleted all previous versions on the software and even completed the Adobe Clean Script and Windows Cleaner to ensure no hidden files were conflicting with the install.
I also had a chat session with tech support who sent me to the forums which received no response. I’d be very grateful for any insight. Thank you!
Hi Rooford, are you installing the program to the same disk where you have the downloaded files located? (and not from a USB flash/thumb drive, memory key, etc.)
Sometimes that scenario can cause the message you posted. Also, of course, make sure the downloaded files are all in the same directory.
Hello,
I had purchased CS4 Design Suite for several classes I was taking in 2010. My Mac’s hard drive crashed this summer and I had to buy a new one. I just realized that I needed to use Photoshop and I cannot find the disks. Is there any way to find my license number from four years ago so that I can have a fully-functioning program without having to repurchase?
Thanks
Found it at adobe.com!!
Hello
aww it doesn’t work anymore =(
Actually all of the direct links here are fine – but you have to make sure you carefully follow the directions or else they won’t work.
In other words, you have to follow the step-by-step download instructions (required by Adobe’s servers) given near the top of this page…
If you do not do that first (before clicking on anything else), then these links will not work for you.
Then if you have any further issues, try again with a different web browser, another computer, or different Internet connection.
Also make sure Also you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs.
@ProDesignTools
Hi, thanks for responding. The files automatically save to my Downloads folder, when they have completed downloading, I move them to my storage hard drive.
Then I double click and run the first ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.exe file and it asks me where to unpack. The Desktop is the chosen place by default, which I left (I read in the Adobe forums that you must let it unpack to the desktop or it won’t work.)
It almost completes this process and that is when I get an error message. Should I move the ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.exe and ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.7z files onto the desktop instead of my storage hard drive and then attempt the same process?
Thanks for the help!
Hello again Rooford, it sounds like you’re absolutely doing all the right things – the only possibility we could suggest is that your file(s) may have downloaded as incomplete or corrupt…
You may want to try downloading again, perhaps using a different browser or computer, and/or a faster Internet connection (avoid Wi-Fi if you can, as it is less reliable and robust – use a cabled connection if possible).
Hope that helps!
Thank you for your reply. I will try again with a wired connection. Is there a way to check the hash to ensure the download file is not corrupt?
No sorry – we haven’t done all the hashes for these old products… But if the file size and/or MD5 hash for your new (second) download agrees – or does not agree – with the that of the first copy you already downloaded, that will tell you a lot about the integrity of what you have.
Hello,
I tried downloading this as well, but for me the first link in step 1 gives an error.
It says: Error 413, Header Length too Large…
Is there any way I would be able to download using another link/server or anything?
Thanks in advance!
Hey Juu, that’s a browser error. Nothing to do with Adobe software.
Clear your browser cache and cookies and try again. Or use a different browser.
I am signed in as is required but I am still getting the 404 error when attempting to download CS3 Production Premium. Help?
Hi MDR, being logged in isn’t enough – you also have to carefully follow the step-by-step download instructions given in the article above, or the direct links won’t work.
If you have any further difficulties, then try it with a different web browser, computer, or Internet connection. Avoid Wi-Fi when possible (use a cable instead), as wireless connections can be slower and less reliable.
I’ve been trying to install the trial of the Design Standard Suite and continue to get the following error:
Critical errors were found in setup.
Please see the Setup log file for details.
One thing not addressed is the sequence of the installation files and which setup file to begin the installation. I unpack ADBESTPPCS4_LS1 and STPPCS4_Cont_LS1 and ADBESTPPCS4_LS1. This creates a Adobe CS4 folder and a Design Standard folder, both with a setup file that begins the installation(?)
All of these are on the Desktop, but none begin the installation, the log file refers to missing files. Am I supposed to have these files in a certain location?
Hey Daniel, these old files have been up here for many years (almost 2,000 comments on this page!) but we’ve never heard that one before, so it must be a particular glitch somewhere in what happened to you (either in the download or extraction or installation or system configuration). We’d try googling the exact text of the error message you received and hopefully that will help you find a solution.
One thing we can tell you is the “Cont” files are Extra Content and would always be installed after the main CS4 programs.
Hello, I am attempting to download the free trial of Photoshop CS3 (for Mac) in order to better understand the differences between CS3 and more recent versions. However, when clicking on the link above (File 1, for Mac) I get the following message:
“HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp,
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp”
Could this be fixed? Thank you.
Do these downloads still work or have they expired. I’m getting the following error
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
@Leah, @Daryl –
Yes, they are old but they all still work… See this previous comment for help.
Hi, Is it possible to download files with IDM? I will really appreciate your kindness :-)
Hello David, here are some tips a reader posted for using these Adobe direct download links together with IDM.
Can’t download photoshop CS3 & CS4 trial, notify as error.
Well, that could happen if you didn’t follow the download instructions given in the article above?
Also see this previous comment if you need more help.
hi ,
please how can i download After Effects CS4 32 bits for free !! and thank you a lot
Hey Arij, the free CS4 trial is above, that’s the best we can do for this old software…
For newer products like CS6 or CC 2014, you can run a free trial for up to 60 days.
Hello.
How are you and Happy New Year.
Excuse me, I need Adobe Master Collection CS4 ME Edition and I found this page.
But I guess all of them above are English. Can you show me how can I download the ME version?
Cheers.
Greetings Jason, why do you need the CS4 version in particular? We have no idea where you’d be able to find that – and anything you do see is most likely to be bogus… Adobe stopped making/selling it several years ago.
In the latest release CC 2014, all versions of all applications support all languages… So there is no separate Middle Eastern version needed of Creative Cloud; it’s all included, and you can freely switch between different languages on the same computer.
If you want to check it out, we have the direct download links for CC 2014 free trials here.
Every time I try downloading the Step 1. Photoshop trial it crashes?
Not a browser problem.
Cookies & Cache Cleared.
AD-Block Switched off as well as Anti-Viruses?
Hmm, what happens when you try another browser or computer? Did you get any messages or errors?
I’ve recently got a new computer as my old laptop (with CS3 on it) will no longer work. I want to install my version of CS3 on my new laptop – but there is no CD drive! I downloaded Illustrator from the web, and the program opened fine. But, when I entered my serial number I was given an ‘X’ and I couldn’t start the program. I need to use the software, so I have started a 30-day trial. How can I get CS3 to recognize my serial number?
Many thanks
Hi Emma, what is the exact message you received? Did you try googling that perhaps? Make sure you are trying to install the same exact tool or suite that your serial number was originally for.
Unfortunately we cannot help much with any licensing issues; only Adobe has power in that domain… You can try contacting them if you like.
THANK YOU! I’m upgrading to a Windows 8.1 machine and I was pretty sure I’d have to give up Photoshop CS3 and Premiere Pro CS5 because the installation discs are long gone (and the new computer doesn’t have optical media). Those ancient applications are just fine for my current needs. I was SO GLAD to find your website! You’ve made my day!
Sure Michael, thanks for your kind note and glad to help! Be aware though that CS4 and CS3 predate Windows 8 by years, are not supported and may not run reliably on Windows 8.
@ProDesignTools
Indeed, it’s OLD software. But for me, so far, so good!
Hey what do the Extra/Additional Files download links do? What are they for?
I meant Extra Content
Welcome Hipo, as for what’s in the bonus content downloads – that question is answered here.
Download links for cs3 trial for mac are not working :/
Yes, they actually still work Ricardo – you just have to make sure you follow the download directions first.
