Hi @Joey – in most cases, Adobe’s free trials include all working features and functionality. There are some products with exceptions and Premiere Pro is one of them. For more information about the limitations of the Premiere Pro trial versions, see this document.
For examples of what’s in the Additional Content, see this earlier comment and response.
Appreciate the comments and thanks for visiting.

I having problems downloading the illustrator CS3. I read the instructions and I signed in. But I kept getting the “resume download page” . I really want to download this software now. Can you please help me?
Hi Mike, if you’ve carefully followed the instructions in the article but still are getting the “resume your download” page from Adobe, then see if the suggestions given in this other comment above help you out – they usually do. Thanks and good luck.
Thank you so much for the cs3 master collection. I have one problem though, all the other programs run smoothly except for premiere pro which does not open. On opening the application, a just in time debugger error comes up. I am using windows xp sp3. What could be the problem and how can i solve it?
Hello Willy, sorry to hear you’re having difficulties – that’s a strange one, haven’t heard of it before… Unfortunately, it’s a bit beyond the level of what we are able to assist with here. But rest assured that all trials linked above are original and authentic from Adobe’s servers, with hundreds of visitors having downloaded and run them successfully.
Your best bet would be to search on the Adobe Forums for the exact error message you’re encountering, and see what pops up. If that doesn’t work, and you purchase the product, then you can contact Adobe Customer Service. Good luck with it!
hey i wanna ask. i already downloaded adobe premiere pro 2.0 and i had just downloaded adobe after effects cs4, can both can work together? or do i have to have the same cs4 for premiere pro? i’m so confused, please answer! thanks!
Hey there gloowryy, thanks for your question. It’s best if the two products have the same release number for maximum compatibility and integration. Your proposed setup should still be able to share files, but there would likely be more manual work involved.
Your best bet is just to try it with the trials here and see how you get along, that’s what the trials are for. Hope this helps.
thanks, i will download adobe premiere pro cs4 from here and I’ll ask again if there’s any problem
by the way, do i have to download all 4 files? and about my after effects cs4, my third party content and dynamic link support is not installed, how can i solve this? thanks a lot as before
Sure gloowryy, no problem. While the Extra Content files here are technically not required, you’ll have the best experience with the software by downloading and installing them. So, we recommend using them if you are able and have the time and disk space.
BTW, you only get Dynamic Link if you have a full Adobe suite – not if you just have the individual point products.
Good information. Would you happen to have a link for CS4 Extended Edition? I’m one of those that need to reinstall and don’t have my disk. thanks
Hi Craig, good question and a fortunate answer: there is only one trial available for any edition of Adobe Photoshop, and it’s always the Extended edition…
In other words, the download link for Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended is the same as for Photoshop CS4 directly above. For the trial, they are one and the same.
So you should be good to go – just download the free trial above and enter your purchased serial key. You may also find this other article helpful:

Good luck and appreciate the comment.
Hello, and thanks for the links. I am able to activate download, but I have two problems:
1) Will a download stop before the full file is processed (for example, the CS4 trial .7z is about 5 or 6 G, and my download stopped after 1.5 G). It continues to do this…like Adobe is giving me iterative downloads.
2) When I attempt to redownload, the file size is smaller, so it is like the download is “restarting” from the last stop position. How can I start from the beginning? I even tried refreshing cache/etc., but it is like my Adobe account is keeping track of it.
Any ideas?
Greetings Lawrence, for #1, normally the downloads shouldn’t stop – something seems to be wrong there. Make sure you’re using a very reliable and fast internet connection – direct with a cable is best, no Wi-Fi and no dial-up etc.
For #2 (restarting), it depends on whether you’re using a download manager or not. The product files themselves are not tied to Akamai or any other download manager, but you may have one installed on your machine or plugged into your browser. If so, then you might get some of the behavior you’re describing.
But just by themselves, each file is “clean” and should definitely download all in one shot – and start over from the beginning every time you request it. So check to see if any download manager is running on your system.
Paused/resumed downloads is actually one benefit of the Akamai Download Manager that Adobe uses, but for some reason that application also causes problems on some people’s computers. You may wish to look through some of the other free DLM applications that are highly rated on CNET, which in theory can help make downloading large files easier.
I am having trouble with Illustrator CS4 for Mac (I have OS X 10.4.11 and can’t run the CS5 trial from Adobe). I downloaded the trial, but when I try to open the ADBEILSTCS4_LS1.dmg file, it starts verifying then I get an error message saying it has failed to mount because of an input/output error. Any idea what I can do to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Gosh jms, we have never heard anything like that before, and there is nothing on the Adobe Forums about it either… That’s very strange, but it sounds like it might be more generic and possibly not related to Adobe. Perhaps it could be something specific to your system or configuration somehow?
One suggestion – make sure the downloaded file(s) are stored on the same disk/volume as where you want to install the product. That might help.
Sorry can’t be of more assistance!
Brilliant…genius! Thanks so much for providing this. I searched for an hour to no avail until a youtube video on adobe trials pointed me here. Thanks guys!
Hi ProDesignTools, I’ve already been here and got my trials before. But I just want to help out.
For people getting the “Resume Download” page, have another tab open with the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 download page, then right click the file and click Open In New Tab, and it should let you download it. (:
Great – and you’re right – thanks Evan!
For some reason my download manager automatically downloads and turns the file into a zip leaving me no time to pause the download. what to do?
Hi leefy, the description of your problem isn’t entirely clear – could you give a bit more detail? Thanks.
Worst case you could try with a different download manager or with none at all.
ok i follow that instructions that are on both the youtube page and on this site. When I click on to download, there isnt any chance to pause the download. The Binary file is Adobe_After_Effects_CS5-AkamaiDLM.dmg. Is that the right one?
Leefy, it sounds like you’re still pulling the CS5 trial download from Adobe’s site (using the Akamai Download Manager), rather than CS4.
If you’re getting CS4 from the links above, your filename(s) will have “CS4” in it/them somewhere.
So if you’ve carefully followed the instructions in the article but still are having a problem, then see if the suggestions given in this other comment above help you out – they usually do. Thanks and good luck.
@Evan
EVAN! Thanks very much for the info, you saved my day!
Now if you could just make the download go faster…
It also works if you:
1 – login
2 – go to the lightroom 3 download link
3 – cut and paste the trial version you want to d/l directly in the address bar when you get to the Lightroom 3 choose your OS page. Hit enter and the d/l will start.
Hi – thanks so much for putting these up, I’m one of the unfortunate folks with 32-bit Vista.
Anyway, my problem stems from when I try to download the ADBESTVDCS4_LS7.7z file for the CS4 Production Premium. It downloads at 560 kb/s up until it gets to 443mb, then it slows down to 9.2 kb/s essentually stopping the download. I’m using google chrome with a wired connection and have plenty of disc space available on my computer. Do you know what the problem could be?
You’re welcome Farmer, and sorry the downloads aren’t working right away for you. There are a number of different things you can try – please see some of the suggestions given in the comments just above yours. Also, surprisingly, sometimes just waiting a little while and trying again later can help.
Lastly, have you ever had problems with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) before, with large downloads? It sounds like something’s throttling back your bandwidth after a certain level, and it wouldn’t be Adobe.
Hello, I have a problem. I’ve downloaded all three files for Adobe Master Collection CS4. However when I tried to install, I opened the .7z file together with the .exe, and Microsoft Windows said that the file cannot be installed as the file archive part for Adobe is missing. Can you help? Thank you very much.
Hi Elise, for that error message, please see this earlier comment and response – thanks!
I cant download the cs4 after effects :( Please help me…
Hello Neal – please carefully follow the instructions in the article, and see if the suggestions given in the comments above yours (or this other advice here) help you out – they usually do. Thanks and good luck.
This is great thanks for the downloads i love this site so much !
Hi, I followed the instructions and downloaded the three files for CS4 Production Premium suite to the same folder on my Windows 7 PC. None of the three appears to be an .exe file. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for any help you might be able to provide.
Greetings Paul, were you using IE? As mentioned in the article above, “We suggest using a browser other than Internet Explorer… IE has also been known to drop the extensions (.exe and .7z) from the filenames, so you may have to restore or rename them back.”
INDESIGN CS4:
hello, I followed the directions, downloaded the two files …but when installing the product it results as a cs5 software instead of cs4?? I’m not sure what to do?? You see I had the cs5 trial already, but currently need the cs4 trial…thus I can not re-install cs5.
I might have downloaded something wrong, although I need to finish my company’s project as soon as possible! Your help is very much appreciated.
nevermind. thank you so much. It was something wrong with the “extractor”. Not trying to overexaggerate, but I’ve been trying to find the trial for 13 hours today! pheww
When I download it it says Adobe After Effects CS4 Content installer is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe After Effects CS4 Content Installer. Please download all parts.
Can this be fixed?
Hey there Gabriel, please make sure you’ve downloaded all files for your application, whether Windows or Mac – and that you put them all in the same folder, a folder that’s located on the same disk drive that you’ll be installing them to.
Then run only the .exe file(s) (not the .7z files) – and run/install the .exe for the main product first before running the .exe for the extra content. Hope this helps.
hi… i downloaded illustrator and when i go to download it, it says: cannot download conflicts with adobe illustrator. how does it conflict with itself?
Hi, sounds like something went wrong in your installation process. Please uninstall the product and then run Adobe’s CS3/CS4/CS5 Cleaner Tool, reboot your computer – and then restart from the top.
hi im having trouble downloading photoshop cs4, it takes me to the adobe website and it just says sign in, can u help me?
Mark, if you’ve carefully followed the instructions in the article but still are having difficulties, then please see the suggestions given in this other comment above. Thanks and good luck.
