I used this website to download both After Effects CS4 and Premiere Pro CS4. I am using a fairly new Toshiba Satellite (less than a year old) that is running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. These two programs have been constantly freezing and crashing on me, and now Premiere Pro only displays a blank gray screen. I am using Premiere Pro to put together shots from a wedding and reception I filmed, and the bride and groom have been waiting for about three weeks now because I haven’t been able to complete the video.
Is there anything I can do to fix these problems?
Please let me know ASAP.
-Eric
Hi Eric, it sounds like the products downloaded and installed okay, but for some reason are encountering a conflict with something on or about your system, through no fault of your own…
Well, that is probably a bit beyond the scope of help we could offer here, so you’ll probably have better luck at http://www.AdobeAssistance.com
@ProDesignTools
Ok, It took me almost an hour to figure out how to download it. And I finally got it. But, I went to install it as a trial while I tried to find the serial number I have laying around here somewhere. But when did that, it installed fine but when I went to open the program to mess around in it with the trial. It just said “Licensing For This Product Is Expired.” And I never typed in a serial number at all. I tried re-downloading it, that didn’t work. I also tried reinstalling it. Do you know a way past that at all?
Thanks
Good going Zach, persistence usually succeeds. If you’re getting an Adobe “trial expired” message though, see this earlier comment and the responses which follow.
I’m very happy now, the download links have fixed for me! Hurray!
Hey Alex, thanks for circling back to update us on how it turned out for you, we always appreciate hearing about how things resolved for our previous commenters… Glad it worked out.
@ProDesignTools
Yes, like you said, it just took some time and it fixed itself. I’m downloading the trial of Photoshop now :D
Thank you so much for this. It was really helpful. It was like you read my mind. (Searching high and low) lol
Anyway, THANKS SO MUCH
Greetings Kena, you’re very welcome and thank you for the kind words!
If you look back through the hundreds of comments here, you’ll see many folks who were helped because they can’t yet move to CS5 due to the 64-bit requirement on some of the apps… Also a lot of customers have bought CS4 but for one reason or another need re-access to the software to reinstall, or crashed computer, lost disks or download files, changed hardware, etc. It’s very gratifying.
Thanks again for taking the time to leave your thoughts.
@ProDesignTools
I want to download after effects CS4, but every time i click it, it goes to the adobe website, and it says log in to resume downloading – so i do that and it brings me to the CS5 download, but i can’t download cs5 cuz i dont have 64-bit windows. I have tried right clicking and saving target as but it saves as an html document! Any help will be much appreciated! :) ASAP!
-TPain
Welcome TPain, it’s actually quite a common issue and if you’ve carefully followed the instructions in the article but still are getting the “resume your download” page from Adobe, then see if the suggestions given in this other comment above help you out – they usually do. Thanks and good luck.
hello its still not working it says im logged in? anything else i can do to help this?
Hello Mike, try clearing your browser cache and cookies, and restarting…
If that doesn’t work, try a different browser, computer, and/or net connection.
If that doesn’t work, try a different or new Adobe ID login.
If that doesn’t work, wait a bit of time as sometimes it just fixes itself, amazingly enough (see Alex’s comments above).
All right, call me absolutely crazy, but I have to ask:
What would happen if I try to download a CS5 upgrade trial w/o Intel? I am thinking Illustrator for a start.
OS 10.5.8
Mem 1.5 GB
1.33 GHz PowerPC G4
:) hm?
P.S. My current Illustrator is CS3
One more thing…and I bet you are on the edge of your seat…
My CS3 is on another computer.
Can I install it onto my G4 which already has CS4?
Would I need to uninstall my cs4, install the cs3, then reinstall cs4?
P.S. again…these alternative ideas are in desperation to upgrade w/o being able to find that darn cs4 for purchase.
A new computer is what is really needed, but it will take up to a year to do it or me…
Hello again Heidi, unfortunately CS5 (trials or otherwise) won’t install on PowerPC G4 Macs – CS4 was the last release from Adobe that would run on PowerPC… Here are the complete system requirements for all CS5 products.
[Update: See our latest recommendation here for how to buy Adobe CS4.]
As for multiple Creative Suite installations on a single computer, there is no problem doing that – some folks run CS3, CS4, and CS5 all on one machine. See our guide to transferring Adobe software from system to system, if you need it.
Lastly, for upgrades: you don’t need to have your previous version installed on the computer that you want to put your new upgrade software on – in fact you don’t have to have the old product installed at all – you just need to have the old serial number to enter when installing the new version. Check out this page for more information on how to do it and what is required.
Hope this helps!
Adobe CS4 is a fantastic product
@Phil Dawson
Indeed it is.
@ProDesignTools
I’m having the same problem. I downloaded both files for InDesign CS4 and followed all instructions carefully. Now that both files are in the same folder, i try to open the other file, not the .7z file and a window pops up and says “Do you want to open this file?” Its either “open” or “cancel” i click open and it asks me what program i want to open the file with.
I don’t know what to do anymore. Help please. This is urgent. I have a project due tomorrow and I can’t use CS5 because of compatibility issues. Please help.
Hi Dan, in Windows there are two files for most of these products, which should both go in the same directory…
One of them (typically the smaller) should be a .exe file, and the other a .7z file. If the files don’t have these extensions, you might need to add them.
You shouldn’t try to otherwise touch or open the .7z file – that is handled by the .exe when you run it.
If you’re following all the installation instructions and trying to run the proper file (.exe) but it gives that message, your computer may not be configured properly (which would be beyond the scope of what we can do to help).
Your computer in general should be able to handle opening a .exe file without needing or specifying another program to do it, and know how to run one without anything special (when you grant it permission). Thanks and good luck.
Windows: The file that should be the .exe file is not an actual .exe file. Under its properties its labeled simply as “file” and not the executable file that it should be. How do I convert it to a .exe file? Thanks!
As mentioned in our article above, “We suggest using a browser other than Internet Explorer to download any of the files above… IE has also been known to drop the extensions (.exe and .7z) from the filenames, so you may have to rename them back.”
Just right-click on the file(s) and select “Rename” – then add on the proper period and extension characters, that’s all.
@ProDesignTools
Didnt think it would be that simple. I’ll try that. Thanks a bunch.
OMG I am so excited to find this site! Yes, I have been searching forever!
Currently downloading now – hoping it will work – thank you!!
Thank you for the kind comment Fishwifeay and you’re very welcome… Please follow up to let us know if it worked for you, or if you have any questions or difficulties. Thanks and good luck.
Okay, i click on Trial for either AAE CS4 or CS3 & it takes me to the CS5 trial which is for 64bit Computers and i only have a 32bit – Hence the reason i’m wanting CS4. Help!? :L =/
Greetings Sam, please see these earlier comments and responses, then follow the article’s instructions again – thanks.
How can I download a trial version of Flash CS3?
Hi Marion, it’s down at the bottom of the post – look for the CS3 table with “Flash Pro CS3” for both Windows and Mac.
I search for Adobe Illustrator CS3 trial, then I visit this site I think now I got it, but the same thing happens again which happens on other sites – when I try to download it takes me to the Adobe page which provides me the link to CS5
I am going to go crazy now.
Can anybody send me direct link?
Thanks in advance.
John, we just tried the CS3/CS4 trial links again and they are working fine… Please see the comments and responses just above yours, and hopefully that will help – thanks.
Thanks a Lot Sir, yesterday i visited your page again when I checked my e-mail ID, and i read your response. I tried the links And they work for me.
NEAT AND CLEAN.
GOOD LUCK AND Thanks Again.
My download ability is broken again… oh well, maybe it’ll fix itself again in a few days ;~;
Great…thank you!! Question…Does anybody have the CC plugins? I guess they don’t come with the trial version.
Sure Allie, you’re welcome… And you’re right – the CycoreFX plug-ins (CC Cylinder, CC Sphere, CC Spotlight) come with the full version of Adobe After Effects CS4/CS5, but are not included in the trials.
@ProDesignTools
: ( Suggestion to Adobe…if you want someone to spend $600 plus on software…you might want to include plugins so they can at least test them. It’s kind of like giving a Photoshop trial without the paint bucket tool.
Allie, you can just try downloading them directly from Cycore FX’s website, where they have an unlockable demo version that includes all features from the full version, except that it renders a green “X.” It should work on releases of After Effects from 7.0 up to CS4 and CS5.
The reason Adobe doesn’t include it in the trials (we suspect) is because they promise all their trial versions to be fully-functional for 30 days, and stick to it. However plug-ins are built separately and don’t have that sort of activation technology, and work differently – either on or off, you have it or you don’t – so instead the plugins offer trial versions only with impaired functionality. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for these links!
Question, I heard the Premiere Pro CS3 trial does not include Encore. If I download this trial and enter the serial number, will it convert to the full version and download Encore?
Also, what is in the Extra Content for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3?
Thanks again!
all trial versions of Adobe are fully functional with full features for 30 days.
