never used lightroom, but hear good things about it.
Photography is much more than a hobby. I relish being able to save and share visual memories with others! Capturing images and enhancing them is a joy and I look forward to learning all that Lr4 will allow me to accomplish!
i am planning on trying to buy lightroom after I upgrade to CS6 Suite.
I currently use LR3, will hopefully upgrade to 4 one day. I have downloaded the beta and haven’t installed it yet, still trying to learn 3, lol.
I would use it for organizing photos and digital scrapbooking supplies and editing photos once I learn the program better. Thank you for the opportunity!
I would love to use this to manage my photos! I have two kids and take about 600 pictures a month!! I’ve heard great things about editing with lightroom!
Currently running LR 3, and currently have no plans of updating to LR4 as it offers no new “must have” features for me. And there is still no facial recognition to help organize collections easier.
I plan on using LR 4. I have been using LR 3 for almost a year now, and now that I have it (almost) figured out, it’s time to go on to greater challenges! Actually from what I have seen with the beta the center-starting-point for Exposure adjustments is sure to be a time saver, and the overall quality of adjustments just “seems” better.
I’m excited about location tagging. I’m a landscape photographer (hobbyist) who loves my home state of North Dakota. I’ve traveled the state extensively to document its natural beauty as well as the variety of military history, technology, and industry our state has to offer. I have around 70,000 shots taken in very unique (and often off-limits to most folks) locations.
I bought Lightroom for two reasons. The first is for tagging my photos and organizing them, which is why the ability to do location tagging in LR4 is such a huge deal. The other exciting feature of Lightroom is noise reduction. I have shot most of my photos on a Canon 20D, which by today’s standards has really poor performance at ISO 400 and above. Lightroom helps assuage that to a degree.
I recently got a computer capable of running Lightroom and am easing into LR3, but I have to admit I’m holding off on tagging and organizing photos until I can afford a copy of LR4. I think it’ll even better suit my needs.
I love Adobe products! Owning LR4 would make my day. :)
Yes I do plan on buying LR4. I’ve been using LR3 for the last couple months and still trying to learn how it works. I’m very excited about the book function. I am kind of sad that there is no facial recognition like in Elements.
I would love a copy of LR4 to use, I currently have PSE9 but I believe the two would go beautifully together. I am currently studying for my Photography Diploma so having the best and newest version would help me immensely with my studies in editing my shots and presenting better photos for my assignments :-) Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to enter!
What do you plan to do with Adobe Lightroom 4, how would/will you use it? –
I love using Elements but now need a more substantial app and came across LR and your excellent site – so just downloading LR4 Beta to get hands on and run thro’ prior to release.
It will replace combo Elements package as I’ve come to its limits and especially want a 64bit app to run on Win7 64bit, hopefully quicker and able to use the full memory stuffed in the PC. Look to be able to do the things that were done with film in the “dark room” in the digital “Light Room”
Currently, I am a Photoshop user and Graphic Designer that enjoys photography. Would love to try out/use Light Room and see what the benefits and uses are.
I do plan on upgrading to lightroom 4. Right now I use LR3 and love it….I use a lot presets and it just makes simple editing so easy
I currently use LR3. I have not tried the beta version. I hope to upgrade to LR4 someday this year. I am very interested in the new features, such as the video support and the Develop module improvement, which would be helpful for my future use. I would use LR4 as a main management tool for my photos and videos.
I will use Lightroom for my photography. Currently, i can only use gimp since i haven’t got the money for anything else, therefore, Lightroom will be a big help for me in the future
Currently using LR3, but definitely going to upgrade
I currently use LR3 and love it! I’ve seen the improvements in LR4 and am very excited about it. I have oodles of images that I will probably reprocess with LR4!
Plan to use the program to organize my photos
Wish I could afford to buy LR4. I checked the features and it looks really good. Maybe I’ll be the lucky one :-)
I was an avid acdsee and Photoshop User who has finally made the switch to Lightroom and I’m looking forward to making the upgrade to Lightroom 4.
Running 3 and use/will use for organization and tagging
I love using LR3, and if I don’t win, I will definitely upgrade. I look forward to using LR4!
i use lr 3.6 for my day to day photo editing, cataloging, and printing. in fact nothing gets to indesign until its been processed through lightroom, and then photoshop is used for production.
the changes in lightroom are all very welcome, especially the revamped develop mode, the book creation tools and maps.
this is one adobe upgrade i am looking forward too.
In the limited use so far made of Beta 4, the positives are outweighing negativity. However, one thing that has bugged me is the inability to shift images, within Printing/Picture Package, using the arrow keys for fine tuning. Am I missing something or is this a possible problem that can be looked at?
