Further to my previous enquiry, I updated Download Assistant (as required by the application) and now when I try to download CS4 from your webpage I get another error message:
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
Would be grateful for help.
As mentioned, you don’t need the Assistant to download, install, or run any application.
Go to following website by copying and pasting the following link into the address bar of the internet browser.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements
Staying on same website mentioned above, delete everything from the browser address bar and copy the download link from above and paste it in the same address bar.
Now press the Enter key from the keyboard and then you will see the download pop up for the CS.
No need to sign in.
Hi, I downloaded the two files for the Mac version of CS4 Design Premium, but I can’t open the first file. I get an error message that states “ADBESTDSCS4_LS1 Disk Image Not Recognized.” I couldn’t find any previous solutions for this, so I thought I’d ask.
Also, I’d like to confirm the size of that particular file. When I started the download last night, it said it was downloading X of 4+ GB, but when it finished this morning the file was only 2.15GB. I had some previous issues getting it to download yesterday (I live in China, so the internet is pretty spotty), so its possible that I’m just trying to work with an incomplete .dmg file.
Hello Michael, for that “not recognized” message with Mac DMG files, please see this previous discussion…
The particular file you’re talking about is 4.8 GB in size, so it definitely didn’t download completely (as you suspected).
What’s the secret to get CS3 to install on Windows 8?
I have CS3 Master Collection.
Hey Kevin, not sure if there is a way – there are uncertain reports about CS3 being able to work on Windows 8… Adobe staff says CS3 has not been tested and is incompatible with Windows 8.
Hello,
I’m trying to download the CS4 Design Premium trial for Mac, when I click ‘File 1’ a new page comes up saying :
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
Hi Harriet, everything works fine here… Make sure you are carefully following the step-by-step download instructions given near the top of this page, or the direct links won’t work for you.
Following those instructions (first) is absolutely essential, otherwise access to the links will be denied to you.
It’s also possible that a download may be incomplete or corrupted, meaning you may need to try again.
So if you still have any difficulties, then try with a different web browser, computer, or Internet connection – all while still following those directions. Avoid Wi-Fi if possible, as these can be large downloads and wireless connections are slower and/or less reliable than wired.
Also make sure Also you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs.
Finally, if you get a message that something is missing, or if your computer doesn’t know how to open up the downloaded file, then it’s possible your web browser (especially Internet Explorer) dropped the “.exe” filename extension… If so, then it’s easy to fix – just rename it back.
On Windows, most all of the programs here have two files: a “.exe” and a “.7z” – so make sure the extensions are correct for all files you downloaded. Then double-click the .exe file to begin the installation process.
Hi, I downloaded CS4 design premium (… it took 11 hours and is 5.16gb in size)
I double clicked the dmg file, which bought up the design premium disc 1 window – which then took me to a setup file – i clicked the setup file and all I get is an error message :
“setup” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. “setup” is on the disk image “ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.dmg”. Safari downloaded this disk image today at 00.40 from trials.adobe.com.
What do I do now??? :/
Hello again Harriet, here is the solution to that.
Followed instructions and when I click on link, I get “HTTP ERROR:404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp”
Have a MacBook Air.
Greetings Amy, you might try a different browser, computer, or Internet connection. Review the directions and make sure you’re following them carefully. Make sure your browser isn’t blocking cookies, downloads, etc.
Brilliant thank you, that appears to have worked! All I had to do was right-click the setup and choose open to bypass the security! .. D’oh!
Great – glad to hear it Harriet, and thanks for letting us know how it turned out for you.
AE CS3 for Mac link is broken :)
Works OK here.
CS4 Western Europe Design Standard for Mac link is broken
No, it’s not. Everything checks out.
I’ve tried to download the CS4 Design Premium, and had the same problem as a few of the people noted above, in that it takes 11-12 hours, and then the file is smaller than supposed to be, and won’t mount… My question is: If I just download a couple of the programs individually Indd, AI, PS, will my CS4 Design Premium serial number let them activate?
Welcome Joe, if it won’t mount then it sounds like you might have better luck with a different (faster/stronger/wired) Internet connection… Or try another browser or computer.
To answer your direct question: In theory, you should be able to download individual programs and they would still activate with your suite license key.
i want
Are we supposed to download the Adobe Download Assistant in step 1 or cancel it (step 3) before installing it?
Hey Judy, you cancel it – you don’t need to either download or use the Adobe Download Assistant with the direct links, but doing the instructions sets Adobe’s session cookie on your browser (which is essential to enable the links here).
Hi. What is the best photoshop to download in Windows 8 computer? and where to download?
Sure Ace, it’s Photoshop CC and to get it just use our CC direct download links.
@ProDesignTools
I found two things:
1) If you download (or start to download) and it takes 10-12 hours, then there’s a problem, and the file won’t work when complete. I tried again, a day later, and it only took about 1 hour, and then it worked fine.
2) When attempting to activate individual programs with the Suite code, it did NOT work.
Hello,
Thanks for the link. I have an old CS4 Design Premium license and no way of installing the discs on my new mac. The download worked according to the description and my serial number was accepted.
My problem, which I haven’t seen in the comment section, is that not all the applications came through… I only have indesign, dreamweaver, bridge, and a couple others that I never use. I really only use photoshop, indesign, and illustrator and two of those (photoshop and illustrator) weren’t in the CS4 Design Premium package in the download… Any thoughts or suggestions? I took a quick look in some of the setup files and photoshop and illustrator components do show up. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Hi, CS4 Design Premium came out in 2008 and consisted of:
Photoshop CS4 Extended
Illustrator CS4
InDesign CS4
Flash CS4 Professional
Dreamweaver CS4
Fireworks CS4
Acrobat 9 Pro
That’s what the downloads above contain, and if you don’t have those then perhaps something didn’t come across correctly.
Okay, thanks – I figured that was the case. So this looks like it’s most likely a problem on my end… I did try migrating the suite over from my old mac (prior to reading warnings not to do this). Perhaps this is the problem.
Thanks
Yes, that sounds very likely to be the issue in your case.
Hi, just wondering…. I have CS4 master collection for PC, but the PC crashed. Since I have a Mac and would like to use it on Mac now, can I use the license I currently have for activation if I follow the method and install the trial version as described from above? If not, any alternative?
Thanks. Pete
No, sorry Pete – see this article:
How to Move Adobe Software Between Computers, or from PC to Mac
@ProDesignTools
Looks like I will have to fix the PC :-(
But, thanks! And thanks for the link to the article also.
Sure, you bet Pete – good luck with it!
trying to get photoshop cs4 on my new imac with no dvd drive:
I downloaded photoshop cs4 (file 1 for mac) and everything came through, entered serial number and installed except for the main photoshop program. I’ve run the adobe support advisor, which told me to create a new user with administrator status (which i did).
tried the install again and the support advisor told me to move my colorSync profiles to the desktop (temporarily) which i did.
I keep getting install failures. at this point, i’m ready to throw in the towel –
I’m broke and can’t afford the new cs6 or cc photoshop. can i purchase upgrade to cs5 somehow?
Hello Nicole, did you try googling the exact error message(s) you’re getting? That may help provide a solution.
As for buying dated versions of Adobe software – CS5 is almost four years old now, and Adobe has long since stopped selling it… We don’t recommend trying to buy old Adobe software – it is not a good idea.
The new Photoshop CC (together with Lightroom 5, plus ongoing upgrades included) is now just 10 bucks a month… Is that really too much?
I just downloaded the .dmg for cs4 Flash. The setup will not not run because the there is an error message stating an unidentified developer.
What might this mean? The app icon in the desktop has a disc image in the upper right corner, this appears to be a bad sign since this was a web-downloaded app?
Greetings Michael, here is the way to solve that.
@ProDesignTools
Hello, I just read your other article on the 9.99 per month for Photoshop + Lightroom 5 deal through march sometime. My question is – can I still do this when I already have LR 5 on Mac (purchased, not subscription)?
Because I sure would like to use photoshop on Mac rather than trying to fix the PC as I previously posted!
Yes Pete, if you like then you can definitely convert from the traditional or perpetual version of Lightroom to the subscription license included in Creative Cloud – and here is how to do it…
At that point, you could sell or give away your perpetual LR5 copy if you want – or use it somewhere else, or save it for future use.
(Note however it is not required to convert; if you prefer, then you can continue using your current LR5 copy with the new Photoshop CC coming via your membership.)
Also should mention that you’re allowed to run all CC versions on up to two computers, including both a PC and a Mac.
Hope that helps answer your questions!
I think the server that hosts the download files is down. Can you check into it?
Andy
Works fine on our end Andy… Make sure you are carefully following the download instructions.
Hi I’m really struggling – have downloaded cs4 (as I only have a 32-bit system) files into a separate folder (“save as” method) as above, and a message comes up that the file archive part of the adobe after effects cs4 content installer is missing. I am signed into the creative cloud on free trial – I’m daft – what am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Nell
Also – forgot to mention when I click on the once you’ve downloaded click here and are redirected to a page – nothing happens .
