I will upgrade to the 4 when it is available. Using the 3 now, really like the book and map modules, very handy, looking forward to the release.
I have three major needs in my life: Air to breathe, Food to eat, and Lightroom. LR rocks. And yes I will be buying LR4! for sure. I am looking forward to the new Blurb/publishing capabilities.
I’m anxiously awaiting the release of Lightroom 4.0… 3.0 was a terrific upgrade, and 4.0 looks to be. I currently have 4 licensed copies, hope to upgrade all four (or win one here!!! so I only have to get 3 additional copies).
I’ve downloaded the 4.0 beta and only started playing with it. Subjectively it seems a little faster, and I love the map feature. The book feature I’m a little unsure of.
Wow Britt – four copies! Are you using an Adobe Volume License for those?
There are some good benefits to doing so, if you haven’t taken a close look at it yet… It’s available for virtually all Adobe software – Lightroom, Photoshop, Creative Suite, Acrobat, Elements, Captivate, etc.
I’ve tested out the beta version and would love to get my hands on Lightroom 4. :)
Great giveaway! I love Lightroom, couldn’t live without it, and have used every release since LR 1. I will definitely be moving up to LR 4. Thanks for the shot!
Adobe Lightroom 4 is a great program for image editing. Photography is my hobby and I can not afford to buy the program, but this program is my dream … Interesting and useful to Highlight and shadow recovery and Additional local editing controls. With Adobe LR 4 I would like to improve my pictures and be better. Regards.
I’ll be buying LR4 as soon as it is available. Currently LR3.6 is my main photograph processing tool and I look forward to the refinements promised in V4, especially the easier viewing of video clips and soft proofing. I haven’t run the beta version, but have worked through the various preview reports.
Great giveaway!
I’ve tested out the beta version and would love to get my hands on Lightroom 4.
I plan to use Lightroom 4 for editing photos.
Have not tested the beta version. I am setting up a new business in digital photography and will be using Lightroom to produce digitally enhanced photography.
I have never tried Lightroom software, I saw a demo of lightroom in our photo club and like what I saw. I have an Apple computer, I would like try or win the latest software.
Yes! After just buying a new MBPro I’m finally ready to move beyond iPhoto for photo management and plan to buy LR4.
I plan to use Lightroom to edit certain frames in my videos.
Have used LR3 to process scanned b&w negatives and compared results using LR4beta. The new controls are very effective and give better results quicker – once getting used to the new approach needed. Great for colour too. Pleased to see the new extended local controls and excited by the book module.
Have greatly enjoyed using LR1, 2 and 3 and look forward to upgrading to LR4
Can’t wait for the new release! I’ve been running LR4 beta since it was available. Definitely plan to buy.
I have the beta installed. This is a fantastic piece of software. How would I use it, that is simple. I am housebound on oxygen. PIctures mean so much to me. I have all that I can shoot myself from the limits of our home, and so many that I would like to edit and improve upon from the years when I could get out, take pictures myself and our family. That might not sound like much but to me it’s very important to have this to do.
I’ve read about the new book features lr4 will bring and also looking fwd to better raw conversions. slideshow integration looks cool too. yes, i will plan on buying lr4 /w photoshop cs6. im currently using lr3 and photoshop cs3.
Will most likely upgrade to Lightroom 4. Looking forward to using the new features.
Hello,
I am running both LR3 and the LR4Beta, wishing I could import my catalog so I can use the new Raw engine. I am currently getting my MFA in photography and use LR for everything but heavy editing and compositing.
I will be upgrading both my CS3 suite (yes I am behind, I’m a poor student) and my LR3 package.
Absolutely will upgrade to LR4.
As a PSE user, I had been curious about Lightroom for some time and finally tried out the LR4 beta. I’m now converted and will likely buy LR4 when it ships. I’m even tempted to buy LR3 at 50% off right away but am being held back because I’m not sure of how much the LR4 upgrade will cost. I.e. will I end up paying more for LR3 + LR4 upgrade than if I just wait a little longer to make my purchase?
That’s a great question Olive… It’s actually kind of no-lose situation right now. Here’s why:
The regular price of Lightroom is US$299. Right now it’s on an unprecedented half-price sale for $149…
The price of upgrades for Lightroom has always been $99 from any previous version.
So, if Lightroom 4 comes out at the same (or greater) regular price as Lightroom 3, that means you can get LR4 for $149+$99 = $248 total cost, instead of the normal $299.
If Lightroom 4 happens to come out at a lower price than $299, then (if it’s within the next 30 days) you can simply return Lightroom 3 to Adobe under their money-back policy, and get Lightroom 4 instead if you choose.
Bottom line, there are some attractive options right now and it’s hard to see a bad choice among them.
I plan to upgrade from CS4. I want to have better control over my RAW images, and the processing engine in LR4, along with its importing and organizational features, are a big plus over what I have now. I have had several surgeries in recent years which have prevented me from doing much of my photography work, but I have high hopes of being able to take advantage of better health – and better software – in this new year!
I would use LR4 to promote our new home based business venture.
Will upgrade to Lightroom 4. Currently running LR3, which is a great product though I use it only occasionally. Looking forward to using LR to create a book through Blurb.com and am enthusiastic about the plans for close integration of LR 4 with Blurb.com.
I will buy LR4, If I have the money. I have used Beta LR4. I love it. I like the improvement when editing videos most of all.
