@ProDesignTools
ok. thanks. BTW, your phone systems are way off today. I got disconnected twice and the system wouldn’t recognize repeated attempts to select a number as instructed (resulting in getting cut off)
Sure Mary. Sorry you’re having difficulties with Adobe’s phone systems, hope they clear up soon!
What! I didn’t know this. Pleasantly surprised is right. I have the premium suite (CS5.5) on my desktop at home and another copy of Photoshop (CS4) and illustrator (CS5) on my laptop. Great. Now I don’t have to buy separate copies of the same program. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to ask this question. Silly me.
Thanks for your comment Jeanet – glad to know it helped!
Hey there… I have CS5.5 and am upgrading to the subscription model of CS6. Thing is – I’m waiting for Apple’s latest MacBook Pro update and want to swap across to that (and give my current machine to my in-laws!). Can I delete the software on the old machine and install/register it on the new machine easily?
I want to have it on another machine in my house as a backup – not my “current” machine…
Hi Dave, thanks for your question… Not to worry – for all purchases of CS6 you will easily be able to switch the software between computers, from a desktop to a notebook system, or even from Windows to Mac, or vice versa.
I have just got Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium for MAC. When I login to https://www.adobe.com/go/eduverify to get serial number, under the product catogery there are only options for CS5, and there are no CS6 options.
How can I get the serial no. for CS6 then?
Hey there Sam, that actually doesn’t look the the right web address for the educational product validation… I think this is the one you want instead:
https://www.adobe.com/go/edu-validate
How do I re-install my Photoshop CS5 after a pc restore?? I have to restore my pc BADLY, but I can’t install my PS5 again, do I have to buy another copy?
Welcome Tracey, why haven’t you been able to reinstall it – is it telling you there’s a problem? You should be able to do it, see here:
How to Move Adobe Software Between Machines or System Upgrades
Say, I have CS5, and downloaded one of the alloted downloads on my desktop and one on my laptop. Unfortunately, I spilled coffee on my laptop and the thing is beyond repair, so they tell me. Is there any way I can transfer that single download of CS5 from my ruined laptop to the new laptop I plan to purchase?
Please advise asap.
Thanks
Greetings Mark, you should be able to recover that lost Adobe activation if you follow the instructions in this earlier comment.
Hi there,
I’m on the Adobe website for students, and when I come to buy Photoshop CS6 Extended, it asks me for a platform. I work on both Mac and PC. Does this mean if I buy the Windows platform, I can’t use the same licence on my Mac?
And secondly, I actually have 2 Macs and a PC, could I use the same licence on all 3, providing only one computer is being used at a time?
Thanks :)
Hello Shafiq, thank you for your questions. As outlined in the article above, each license can be installed on up to two systems, so long as you are not using them at the same time.
If you have more than two computers you want the product activated on, or if you want to easily install natively on both the Windows and Mac operating systems, you might want to check out how to run multiple copies of CS6 on multiple platforms (which will work for commercial and education customers with the discount).
Your only other alternative would be to constantly be switching around product activations and/or running Windows on the Mac using some kind of virtualization or dual-boot setup.
Hope this helps!
Hello,
I have just installed CS 5.5 Design Standard on MacOs X Lion. Since I couldn’t find PPD installer for Acrobat X Pro, I have used one for Acrobat 9, but this one doesn’t work in Illustrator. How do I make it work? Do you have any solutions?
Thank you very much in advance.
Nina
Yes Nina, hopefully this should answer your question on setting up a printer PPD for Acrobat on Mac Lion.
Hello… I am planning on moving to CS6 from CS4. I am currently running CS4 on both my primary workstation as well as my mobile MacBook Air, that only I use… Am I going to be able to continue doing that when I move to CS6? Can I take advantage of the “Mobile License Agreement” ? With a retail copy of CS6, will I still have the opportunity to make a second call to the license server from that laptop, or will it tell me that CS6 is already running on one station? Thanks!
Hi Vic, the terms of the EULA haven’t changed in this regard for CS6 – they’re the same as they were for CS4…
So, you should be able to continue in your same usage with installing and activating CS6 on up to two of your machines.
Hi
How can i get Photoshop CS6 at an educational price where i can use 1 licence on a Mac and 1 license on a PC in the UK?
Thanks :)
Hey there Riz, you can definitely do that – please see this other article for all the answers there:
How to Run Adobe CS6 Licenses on Both Windows PC and Mac OS
Thanx a lot. It was very helpful.
Nina.
You bet Nina, thanks for your kind words and glad it helped!
So, I installed Flash Pro CS5.5 on my Mac. Now, I have a PC desktop. When I bought it, i bought the student discount version as a Mac Download. Can I install it on my PC, or would that not work?
Please help.
Welcome Mark, for the answers to that question please see our other article:
How to Move Adobe Software Between Systems, or from Mac to PC
Hello,
I have some older adobe software and can’t recall if I ever installed it on a second computer. Is there a way I can tell without having to try to go through the installation process to find out?
What happens if I try to install it for a third time? Will I just get an error message or does in deactivate one of the other installs?
Well ENH, you can try contacting Adobe Customer Service and asking them about the number of activations they see for your serial number in their database…
If you try to install the product for a third time, nothing bad will happen – you’ll just get a message that your software is already activated on two computers and you can’t have another. One of your other activations will not be automatically transferred.
In which case, you can follow the steps to move the software from another system to your new one, if you like.
hello i got a question that may have already been answered but anyways here’s my question: i got cs5.5 design premium student & teacher edition installed on my desktop (it’s registered) and i was wondering if i can also install it on my laptop. Also i would also like to see links and or references to support this.
Thank you for your time
———————————-> ADOBE ROCKS <———————————-
Yes Daniel – you should be able to do that for your Adobe education version, exactly as the article above describes… To confirm, check the EULA (End User Licensing Agreement) for your product, under Section 2.5.
hmmm, all i want to know is if my friend buys the adobe education edition with her student discount, will i be able to install and run it on my computer also? we’re thinking of going halves on it cos i’m not a student any more
so when you say can’t run simultaneously, you mean if she’s using it, i can’t use it at the same time? how would it know anyway?
Hello Ben, please see this related article:
What are the Limitations of the Adobe Student & Teacher Editions?
The two installs can only be used by the same person and not at the same time. On your last question, please see this response to Dean.
However the good news is that Adobe considers documents dated within the last six months as being current – so if you’re no longer a student, have you been one within the past six months?
Hello, is there any way I can download Dreamweaver CS6 for free? Or get the serial code?
If I purchase the student edition, will some functions of Dreamweaver be compromised?
Greetings Chelsie, you can certainly download all CS6 trials for free. To get your valid and safe serial number for Creative Suite 6 you need to purchase the product.
The student editions however are discounted up to 80% off the regular price and are not compromised in their functionality, though there are a few other restrictions.
Any one have a serial number for Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. Please share it
Sure Zahid, you can get one direct from Adobe… but you don’t need a serial number to download the free CS6 trial.
I am changing from pc to mac and will be upgrading from cs5 to cs6 on my mac. I have education edition of cs5, can I give that to my daughter to use on her computer as I will no longer be using it?
Thank you. Shannon
Hi Shannon, please see this related question and response for the answer on that.
I downloaded CS5 to two laptops, and took them with me on my 2011 deployment to Afghanistan. Both computers were lost. Since I can’t deactivate CS5 from either computer, how do I arrange to have CS5 added to my new computers?
Best,
Bruce
Thank you for your question Bruce, and for your service – and welcome back.
Hopefully you still have your serial number, either from your product discs or stored in your online Adobe account… If so, just contact Adobe Customer Service and ask them to reset all your license activations in their database, and then you can install the product anew wherever you wish.
Hi,
If I install CS6 on my two machines, is the lock on a per-license basis or a per-application basis? What I mean is: if I’m running Photoshop on my desktop, can I run Illustrator on my laptop, if these are the primary and secondary machines on a single license?
Hey there Lee, that’s a great question. It works on a per-license basis, meaning per serial number.
So, you could do what you suggested if you owned individual and independent product licenses for both Photoshop and Illustrator.
If instead you had a suite containing both tools (i.e., with a single serial number), then you couldn’t run the software on two different machines simultaneously.
Hope this helps clarify.
I have a CS3 Creative Suite on my old computer and would like to put it on my new computer, how do I go about this? Please help!!
Sure Lennie – just see:
How to Switch Adobe Software From One Computer to Another
hi there! i just got an iMac and I want to install my LR3 (i also have LR4) on my new iMac. is this possible with my original disc? can i have it on 2 computers but use only one at a time? I want to install it but want to check before doing so, so i don’t deactivate it or something. thanks!
Yes Andria, you should be able to do that following the terms of the end-user licensing agreement described above. Your Lightroom 3 and 4 can be installed on two systems provided they are not used at the same time.
I’m still confused, so one CD stops working after its copied to 2 computers?
Yes Felipe, sort of. Actually you can install the software on as many of your computers as you like. However, you can only activate the products on up to two of your machines – and the software will work only on those activated systems.
Finally, as outlined above per the licensing agreement, you can only run it on one of those computers at a time.
OK so lemme get this straight…
You can use a CD on as many computers as you want, but the serial code stops activating them after it is used twice?
Yes, exactly – so long as you are the primary user of the second computer, and not at the same time as the first.
Hi There
I bought CS5 and have installed it on two Macs, I have used the free upgrade link and downloaded CS6 and installed it on one Mac, but when I tried to use the same link to download on the second Mac it’s not letting me download it, it says it’s already been used.
Can you not upgrade a second machine ??
Yes Mark, as outlined in the article above, you can definitely have the CS6 software installed and activated on up to two of your computers – but when upgrading from an older version, the newer release must be on the same two systems as the prior release…
If that’s what you’re doing, and you’re still getting a problem with installing on those two Macs, then there must be something crossed up in your licensing on Adobe’s end. Only they can help you with that, so what you need to do is contact Adobe Customer Service, give them your purchased serial number, and ask them to reset all your CS6 license activations in their database – and then you can start again and reactivate CS6 anew on the two machines you want.
