I installed pse12 on windows xp. It did not install correctly. Went to install it again and as the first install it finished downloading and then just sits there. Tried to do the same on another machine and Firefox, no different. Is there a step that I am missing?
Hey flm, not sure but we’d suggest moving up to the just-launched new PSE version 13 instead, and see how you make out with that.
Sorry, check that – Photoshop Elements 12 was the last release to formally support Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) – see:

Starting now with PSE 13, Windows 7/8 (or Mac OS X 10.8 and higher) is required according to the official system specs.
But for any trouble you have here with a particular message or problem/error, you’d need to post the exact text of it and we can try to help figure it out.

Yes Tom, you have to read and follow the download instructions first (required by Adobe) – or instead you will get that message when you click the direct links above…
But this version has been replaced anyway; the brand new release came out yesterday: it’s Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Elements 13.
Then if you still have any difficulties after following the directions there, try a different web browser, another computer, or Internet connection.
Purchased photoshop elements 12, can’t get the organizer to install and run properly…
Have tried the links above for 64-bit but when I try to open error message states states–problem extracting files check space available [have lots] and write privileges [think i did that]. Have installed Elements 13 trial version and it runs perfectly.
I have installed and uninstalled my Elements 12 version 4 times and stll getting problem, have contacted adobe got problem # but now can’t seem to be able to find link to chat line.
Hi Al, sorry you’re having difficulties… Sometimes a problem or error message like that comes from a corrupted or incomplete download, or trying to install the software on a different disk from where you download the installers to (like from a USB flash or thumb drive). Also knowing the details of what system you’re running could be helpful.

1. Follow the installation or product launch screens until you see a link that says “I cannot connect to the internet” or “Having trouble connecting to the internet”. Click the link and follow the instructions on the subsequent screen to initiate offline activation. Instructions there will tell you how to generate a Request Code.

Hello Dominick, please make sure you are carefully following the download instructions (required by Adobe) that are given above in the article, near the top of this page…
Otherwise, the PSE direct links will not work and you’ll get that message instead.
Then, if you still have any problem, try with a different web browser or another computer, all the while still following those essential directions.
Also, make sure you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs – or running blocking utilities like Ghostery, AdBlock, or Disconnect. Adobe recommends temporarily turning those things off.
To complete the installation, you must have Administrator privileges on your computer, plus your antivirus software must allow you to install programs.
Hi, I bought the download of elements 12 and premiere 12. downloaded them all under the same folder. But when I try to open them, I get an error message that says:
“The file part of adobe photoshop elements 12 is missing, you need all parts in the same folder in order to extract adobe premiere elements, please download all parts.”
So idk what this means or how to fix it
Greetings Amanda, on Windows you’ll need to download both File 1 and File 2 for each application… So for both Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements, that’s a total of 4 files you should have in the same folder/directory.
Also on Windows, note that File 1 should have a .exe extension, and File 2 should have a .7z extension. If you don’t have that, then it’s possible your web browser dropped an extension while downloading and you’d need to rename the file(s) to add back the extension(s).
(If you don’t see any extensions on your filenames at all, then see here for how to turn them on.)

Hi… I have a old version of Adobe Premiere Elements (3.0) – will this version (12) open my old files?
Welcome Joyce, it probably will. Normally Adobe software can open files produced with previous versions of the programs. Your best bet to confirm that is to download and run the free trial and see how it works for you…
But don’t use the version given on this page – go with the current (latest & greatest) release instead, Elements 13 – it came out two months ago; it’s better and has more new features.
I have Windows XP and Adobe Elements 13.0 will not work on XP
I can’t get into and use Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 because it’s no longer supported when I go and download it into my new XP…is there any way to get 3.0 to work for me?

Hi Vic, it’s not corrupted – you just have to follow the download directions in the article before clicking any of the links, otherwise you’ll get that exact message.
WHAT DISGUSTING SOFTWARE.
There is no ‘log in’ available and if you click on ‘free Adobe account’ I get ‘Infection blocked’. And as I click on the recommended blue items, I get advertising for ‘Flash Player/Free download’, ‘Windows 7 PC Repair’, Click and I get prodesigntools.com, with a notice that the page cannot be displayed and further down, ‘Free Malware scanner’.
All I want is a copy of Adobe 12 elements that I have paid for!!
If you can’t supply a direct download, please advise if you can send a DVD copy?
If not please refund my payment so I can get a copy from an alternative source.

Yikes! Sorry Vic, not sure what’s going on – but it sounds like your computer is really messed up and has a virus or something bad! That stuff is definitely not coming from us, nor from any normal process going on here…
Strongly suggest getting a good antivirus program (try AVG Free) and thoroughly scanning your system.

Yep, unfortunately you have been totally scammed… You were sold a bogus pirated non-working serial number by some random entity. You didn’t get that from Adobe nor us (we don’t sell anything here actually).
This is why we say to never buy from anyplace that you’ve never heard of before… Without a doubt, the safest and easiest place to get your software is always direct from Adobe.
So this has nothing to do with us, but we’d advise trying to get back in contact with whoever sent you that email message and seeing if you can get your money back (probably not).
Also definitely, absolutely get the best antivirus & antimalware program that money can buy and please scan your system very thoroughly, because it certainly sounds like it has been compromised.

HELP! I purchased a downloadable Photoshop Elements 12 Premiere and having trouble installing. I have followed all the steps but still no luck, I download both into the same folder, no problem. The two files are as follows:
PremiereElements_12_LS26_win64 1.17 GB and
PremiereElements_12_LS26_win64 1.46 MB
When I double click on one of them it asks to open with? If I click on anything I get a message Incorrect command or some such. Is anyone able to help this poor old lady who is feeling like a complete fool?

I purchased a new mac and now my photoshop elements 12 is not working. I have to re-install it. But I purchased it online and do not have a disk. How do I do this?

After having difficulty downloading through Adobe Web site I arrived at Pro Design Tools.
The download of Photoshop Elements & Premium Elements was straightforward and easy.

have just purchased and downloaded photoshop elements on my new mac pro, but i cannot open the file, it says that they cannot find the server to open it, then it says the file may have been corrupted and also that it does not support os x.

Hi Trudi, what is the exact message you received? Did you try [re-]downloading using a different web browser, another computer, or a faster Internet connection? (wired instead of Wi-Fi if possible)
i have been trying to install photoshop 12. adobe sent me a link but it does not work. when i look on PS website it shows elements 12 for mac and nothing for us… please help.

can not download Elements 12 Photoshop. Adobe download site tells me that a part is missing, But adobe has shown one of the parts has been labeled not available, So it is impossible to retrieve the program. Adobe’s Techs can not help me put the egg back together. Any suggestions. Sure could use some, for the last three day I’ve done all that I knew to and contacted Adobe, Windows, all kinds of help sites.
Hey Walter, it sounds like your browser (especially IE) may have dropped or changed the file extension(s) when downloading the program… In that case, your computer might not know how to open it, or might think it’s a text file instead.
If that happens, you would need to rename the file(s) to add back the proper file extension(s). On Windows, File 1 is always a .exe file, and File 2 (if present for the application) is a .7z file.
Do I have to pay for something with this?
No, it’s a 30-day free trial by default – but the one on the page above is two years old and two versions behind now…

getting really frustrated here, I purchased a few years back Photoshop elements 12 and was using it right up until I purchased a new laptop last week and now I cant seem to find the actual download link anywhere. the one I thought was 12 ended up being 14, I have paid for 12 and have the license for it but now I cant replace it on the new pc?

Sorry Elena, as you found out, Adobe no longer makes or sells that version – as it’s a couple years old now and has since been replaced by the newer and better Photoshop Elements 14 instead…

All the downloads on this site are free of cost. They are the free trials, which can be purchased for use past 30 days (without needing to reinstall the software on your computer).
However, this version is not offered any longer. For the latest/best version of Elements from Adobe, you do not want this page… For those, you definitely want the newer version 14 instead.
I purchased Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 12 as a package. At the time, I had no need for Premiere Elements, so only installed Photoshop Elements. Now, I am in need of the video editing portion, so went to install it on my Mac and the only file that I can see that would perform this function is an exe file and it’s grayed out, I’m guessing because it knows I have the Mac software.
Not sure why the PS Elements piece installed at the time, and now Premiere Elements will not.
Any suggestions?

Hey Mike, do you have a disc/DVD with the software? If so, both the macOS and Windows versions should be on there… The “.exe” file is for Windows, so your Mac can’t do anything with that. You would need to find a “.dmg” file to install on Mac.
