Hi there…
Can anyone please tell, why the update of Photoshop Elements 14.1 doesn’t work?
Not from the program and the link from the blog. How do I get the update???
Please help… :)
Hey Ras, we would need to know more about the issue. What happens (exactly) when you try to update from the program, and what happens when you download the Elements 14 update from the direct link?
@ProDesignTools
Thanks for a quick answer. It was a bit of desperation I wrote, and had not really expected any response. My problem is that when adobe informs me that an update is available, and I say yes to accept this update, I received the following message: Adobe servers not responding, please try again later.
This message I was eventually tired of looking at and decided to find a direct link to an update. After which I ended up on this blog. Here I found the link to both 32 and 64 bits updates to adobe elements 14.1. But it turns out that the links here in the blog only leads to a 404 error broken link. Will you please send me a direct link to an update of adobe photoshop elements 14 or can you tell me what I can do to get adobe photoshop automatic update to work again.
Not sure Ras, it sounds like something with your browser or computer or (most likely) your Internet connection. All the direct links here work fine for us, no problems at all. And there are no others – these are the only (unique) genuine Adobe direct download links that exist, coming from their servers.
We would suggest trying using another browser/computer, and even a different computer. Use a wired Internet connection instead of Wi-Fi (if possible), for best speed and reliability.
@ProDesignTools
Hi. Sorry… My mistake.
You were absolutely right regarding my internet connection. There is something wrong. I need to fix that. I downloaded the update from another computer and another network. It worked fine. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for support.
No problem Ras! Glad to hear you got it sorted out, and thanks for letting us know.
I thought it was the free full version – where is the serial number?
These are the direct download links to the original Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Elements 14 installers and free trials. To activate the software, you can get a serial number here:

@ProDesignTools
Is there a secret to installing the version 14.1 update to Photoshop Elements 14? I’m running PSE 14 on a 64-bit Windows 7 Machine. I’ve Downloaded the DDL patch with Chrome and Firefox. It unzips into a setup folder with a patch program and a payloads folder. I click on the patch.exe program, and am asked (sometimes) if I want to run the exe and let it modify my machine, I answer yes. Whether or not I get the dialog box about letting the exe run, nothing happens, except maybe a brief display of a running circle. I’ve tried turning my firewall and anti-virus off, disabling the Hosts file with Hosts Manager, being logged into my adobe account – still nothing. Anyone have any ideas on how to install the patch to version 14.1?
[Incidentally, the help>updates feature in the program hasn’t worked nor has Application Manager. There is no update no error message or other acknowledgement of my action when I use them (although when I try to update from the program there may be a brief display of the “working circle”). I have also uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 14 several times – PSE 14 does show up in My account.]
No, sorry Bruce – we have not heard anything like that… You don’t get any error code or a message of any sort when applying the Elements 14 update patch from the direct download links above? And the version shown under the Help menu is still 14.0?
Are you certain you’re running it with Administrator privileges? And did you try it on another computer?
@ProDesignTools
I can’t try it on another computer – I have only one computer. I’ve “run as administrator” and am the administrator of the computer. The Help Menu shows it to be Version 14.0. And I am frustrated. It is as if the Adobe PatchInstaller.exe program just goes off into the ether. No message about not finding something, no error code, nothing.
I also have Photoshop CS6 on the machine. I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled it (it has an unrelated issue – extensions don’t load – but that does not seriously effect its use) and updated that program with no problem. It shows up on the Creative Cloud Desktop application under heading previous versions. PSE 14 is not listed in the creative cloud desktop app. I don’t know if that has any bearing, but thought I’d mention it.
OK Bruce, we’d suggest trying this:
1. Uninstall Elements completely via Windows.
2. Download and run this utility:
Fix Installation Errors – The Adobe Photoshop Elements Cleaner Tool
3. Reboot your computer.
4. Reinstall Elements and updates.
Do you have Camera Raw for Elements version 9.4?
Thank you!!!
Sure, here are the direct download links…
Photoshop/Premiere Elements 14 – Photoshop Camera Raw 9.4 Update:
– for Windows 32-bit (135 MB)
– for Windows 64-bit (137 MB)
– for Mac OS (138 MB)
And here are the direct download links for the new ACR 9.5 version that was released yesterday…
Photoshop/Premiere Elements 14 – Photoshop Camera Raw 9.5 Update:
– for Windows 32-bit (144 MB)
– for Windows 64-bit (147 MB)
– for Mac OS (148 MB)
@ProDesignTools
I appreciate the help you’ve given.
When I run “AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool” I don’t see a PSE choice and am reluctant to select another choice lest I upset something that works. I did find a later version of “AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool” that included an option to clean the host file and ran it – no problems with my host file.
Incidentally I got a notice there was an AIR update and installed it with no problems – I don’t know if that means anything or not.
That’s odd Bruce, as there used to be an option for Elements in Adobe’s Cleaner Tool. Not sure why they took it out.
The other thing we’d suggest is reinstalling the Adobe Application Manager and making sure it’s the latest version. Hopefully if that works, then you’ll have better success with the update.
Download the Adobe Application Manager for Windows
Download the Adobe Application Manager for Mac
Quit all Adobe programs before proceeding and then reboot afterwards.
@ProDesignTools
EUREKA!!!!
I installed the new Adobe Application Manager, but did not reboot the computer at that time. Just for the heck of it I Unzipped the previously downloaded PSE 14.1 patch using an OLD copy of WinZip I’ve been transferring to my computers since I had a 386 machine. I ran the resulting unzippped program and it installed.
I rebooted and everything, including the Help>Update function seems to work too – as PSE 41.1.
Thank you again.
You’re welcome – that’s really great to hear. :)
Glad we could help, and that you got the problem solved.
cannot use photoshop elements 14 to obtain photos from mac photo as their new program is 13 and elements is 10
Hey Barry, not sure exactly what you’re asking – could you rephrase the question, or give more details?
I have Photoshop Elements 14, and have come as far as the serial number. But I couldn’t download it, as there was a problem with the Apple program. Now that is resolved, how do I use the serial number to start a download? Where do I get into the program?
You just need to carefully follow the download instructions (required by Adobe) given in the article above, near the top of this page…
Otherwise, the PSE 14 direct links will not work and you’ll get an access or permissions denied message instead.
If you have any problem, try with a different web browser or another computer, while still following those essential directions.
Also, make sure you’re not blocking or filtering anything with your browser(s) – like cookies, downloads, or any sites or URLs – or running blocking utilities like Ghostery, AdBlock, or Disconnect. Adobe recommends temporarily turning those things off, plus any antivirus and firewall software too.
Once you download and run the executable program above, then it will ask you to enter your serial number during the installation process.
Hope that helps!
Hi- I had PSE 8 and recently just upgraded to PSE14. Is there any valid reason I should keep PSE8? Noticed in my MacBook applications folder there are 2 items I know nothing about. They are adobe bridge cs4 and adobe extension manager cs4. I don’t know what they do. I don’t know much about PSE. I got it a long time ago to resize images for show entries. I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t learned much. I’m on limited data plan so watching YouTube demos put me over my plan quickly. My kids are grown and busy.
So do I delete PSE8, adobe bridge cs4 and adobe extension manager cs4?
Thank you for your time.
Yes, that’s fine Christine. Back in the days of PSE 8, Adobe did not have a photo Organizer for Elements running on Mac… They bundled and used the Bridge program instead for that purpose. Bridge was a paid program at that time, although it is now 100% free:
It’s True: Adobe Bridge CC Is Completely Free for Everyone, for Life!
So to answer your question, while you can have the old tools and new release installed on the same machine (as you discovered), you don’t need the previous release if you don’t want it. Just uninstall whatever you don’t need or use. You should have already been asked if you wanted to transfer/upgrade your Elements photo catalog when you first ran the new PSE 14 software.
Just purchased PSE 14 with the cd, however I have a Mac Book Pro (OS 10,10.10.5) without a CD drive. Is there a way to solve this problem?
Yes Grace, you can download and install the product using the Elements 14 direct download links above – it’s the same software as what’s on your CD/DVD…
Then after you install it, just enter the serial number that came with your disc and you should be good to go.
Hope that helps!
My Adobe Elements 14 keeps going into “not responding” mode. Has been an issue since I purchased it. Is there some update I need to know about? Very annoying.
Not sure Carol – do you receive any error or other message? If so, what is the exact text of that? Have you tried googling that problem? Often that will help turn up a solution.
We’d also need to know the specifications of your computer – and make sure they meet Adobe’s minimum requirements for Elements 14.
I have two computers, do I have to buy two Adobe elements 14, are just one?
Hey Jerry, you’ll find the complete answer to your question on our guide here:
How Many Computers Can You Install or Run Adobe Software On?
I purchased a mac/PC of elements 14 and every time i try the serial number on the mac its says that they can’t verify the serial number for elements 14, but it worked fine on my windows PC? any Ideas why? and yes I typed in the right numbers.
Hey Julie, maybe you didn’t deactivate it on your other computer first? See:
How to Move Adobe Software Between Computers, or from PC to Mac
I just bought a MacBook Air (no CD drive) and Adobe Elements 14. I have tried several times to download Elements on my MacBook. It gets about half way through and doesn’t download anymore. Then it goes from time left on the download from 15 mins to several hours. Is there something I need to adjust on my computer to make this download? Thanks for your help!
Sorry, nothing we could mention except to try with a different web browser or another computer (and transfer via a flash drive USB key)…
Also these are large files to download, so use the strongest & fastest Internet connection you can, with a wired connection rather than Wi-Fi/wireless.
Just my damn luck. Adobe’s offering PSE14 for a discount price of $59.95 and I’m flipping broke. If they’d done that 2 weeks ago I would have bought it when I had the money. Argh!
it kinda sucks you can’t still buy PSE8, too. I liked the way that one worked a lot better than the newer ones – even though it was a bit glitchy.
Photoshop Elements 15 and Premiere Elements 15 are already out!!!
V15 of both programs have been released.
