  1. Hi.
I’ve successfully downloaded After Effects CS4 following the instructions above, but when I came back to download the Premiere Pro CS4 Trial, the link keeps taking me to the Adobe page where it says something like “sign in to resume your download,” and I have already signed in, with the “keep me signed in” box ticked.

    • Hey there TVN, sorry you ran into difficulty the second time through – occasionally some folks do have these types of problems with Adobe’s site…

Try waiting a little while and then read Kate’s earlier comments, the things she tried, and the series of replies which follow – and hopefully that will help you get past that.

  2. Hi. I have a big problem trying to download AE CS4. I downloaded it before and it worked just fine. However, my computer caught a virus (I don’t know how, but it did) and I have to re-install all of my programs. I couldn’t back up my files because it kept giving me a blue screen, restarting, and giving me the same blue screen. So I had no choice but to go on ahead with the restart the whole system.

But each time I try to install AE CS4 an error message come up:

“The file archive part of Adobe After Effects CS4 Installer is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe After Effects CS4 Installer. Please download all parts.”

I’m using Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and a 32-bit operating system. (I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with my system. It worked fine until last week. And 94.5GB of space left.)

    Please help me!

PS – Do I have to install BOTH “Extra Content” files, just one “Extra Content” files, or do I just not bother the “Extra Content” files?

    Reply
    • Greetings Hale, sorry to hear of your troubles! For that error message, please see this earlier comment and response

Also, regarding the Extra Content – it is not absolutely essential but nice to have, especially for After Effects and Premiere Pro. In which case, you need all/both of the files – and the Windows .exe file will install the .7z file when you run it. On Macs, it’s always just a single .dmg file, regardless of product.

      Hope this helps!

  3. I clicked on File 1 for the CS4 trial and it came up… and I chose the destination folder and many others, but as soon as I click Next, it says, “A problem occurred while extracting the files. Please try again.” or something like that.

So I did and it said the same thing.

  4. Hello,

Been having a nightmarish time trying to download the CS5 Photoshop trial. I know I used the CS4 & CS3 but can’t remember if I already tried the CS5 version!! I tried to extract the file and this message keeps coming up

Cyclic redundancy check? or Error occurred try downloading again? Photoshop 12.1 LS1.exe file

If I already tried the 30-day trial I understand I’m not able to use it again, but it’s not saying that. Could you please help? Thank you

    • Hi Alex, sorry you’re having difficulty… We’ve never heard of that “Cyclic redundancy check” error before. Are you trying to download Photoshop from this page (CS3/CS4), or from the CS5.5 direct links page?

In either case, have you carefully followed all the steps in the download instructions in the article, and checked through the comments for further helpful tips?

      Thanks!

  5. I need help to get After Effects CS4, since I’ve got a 32-bit system. Every time I tried to download any file, 1 and 2, it says “sign in to resume download”?

I deleted my browsing history (cache, etc) and also made a new account to try. None worked, can you please help me?

    Thanx!

  6. The connection was interrupted

Connection to the server was restored during the download page.

The site may temporarily be down or busy. Please try again in a moment.

If you can not open any page at all, check your computer network connection.

If your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to connect to the web.

    • Hello Madde, that’s not any kind of problem with our site or with Adobe’s servers – it sounds like more an issue with the Internet connection you have… (avoid Wi-Fi)

Try later, change your connection, or try downloading the trials using a Download Manager (DLM) of your choice – which will gracefully handle dropoffs, connectivity breaks, starting and stopping, and the like.

  7. We have the Creative Suite 4 Design Premium (update). The serial number we have is not valid after installing the CS4 Design Premium files from this website.

The download and install worked fine using the instructions posted. After completing the installation of the suite and starting an application (IE: Photoshop or Illustrator), I am prompted for a serial number. The serial number from our original DVD case will not work – red x; invalid. Disc 2 is missing from our original set of DVDs. Do you have a link for Creative Suite 4 Design Premium Upgrade?

    Reply
    • Greetings Rick, all the software linked here and across our site are the official trial versions resident on Adobe’s servers – they aren’t actually the “full” or “upgrade” versions, those are not available…

However, Adobe’s trials are designed to convert properly when you enter your serial number, whether it is from a full or upgrade version you have previously purchased:

Upgrading with a trial version: “When you enter the purchased serial number to activate your trial for ongoing use, the installer will search your hard drive for the [prior] qualifying software. If it doesn’t find it, it will prompt you for the serial number of your earlier version. If that serial number does not work, contact Adobe Customer Service in your region for further assistance.”

So bottom line, the software is OK but we are guessing there is some other problem or issue at play here for you (could you be over your allowed number of activations?) – and so your only real option is to get in touch Adobe per the above, as they control the individual functionality of your license key.

  8. Hi, yes I have followed the instructions. I can download every other file from the page apart from CS4 Production Premium File 2.

    Thanks

  9. About to download CS3…again

Hello. Would you have any advice before I do another download of CS3? I’ve tried to download Mac CS3 Web Premium, but had trouble with Photoshop. It wasn’t included in the download, but it appeared in the install window as “(already downloaded).” And it wasn’t.

I also had SN issues with Acrobat and a couple of other apps in the suite, I can’t remember them. I’ve uninstalled all of the Adobe software in preparation of a new download. I’m hoping this one will be better.

    THANKS. shawn

  10. Hi,
I’m having a serious issue and I’m really starting to lose my cool. I’ve followed the steps EXACTLY as they say every time. I have TWO accounts with Adobe, just in case the first one didn’t work. I’ve disabled my firewall and everything, and every time I try to download the Photoshop CS4 trial (I need it because my old computer crashed, and my new one doesn’t have a disk drive). It keeps sending me to “sign in to resume download” when I’m already signed in and my user name is in the top right corner of Adobe. I’m currently using Google Chrome. I really need help, because the support at Adobe isn’t doing anything but giving me the cold shoulder. Thanks.

  11. Also, I just checked and I have 7 cookies from Adobe, and cookies are enabled in Chrome. I tried to ‘save link as’ and as soon as I click it it just sends me back to ‘sign in to resume download’…when I click the link it shows an error message, and if I click ‘sign in’ in the top corner instead, it still shows me an error message.

    • Welcome NC, sorry it’s giving you problems – occasionally some visitors do have these types of challenges with Adobe’s site… You know you’re logged in, but it says you still need to sign in to resume your download, and it’s downloading the latest release instead of giving you the older version you need.

So fear not, you’re not alone! But what to do?

Try waiting a bit and then read Kate’s earlier comments, the things she tried, and the series of replies which follow – and hopefully that will help get past that.

  12. Well, I’ve been trying to download this for three weeks now. Because of my schedule I cant get on every day, so theres been some pretty big time gaps between my attempts to download..

  13. @ NC

I had the same problem with After Effects. What you need to do is:

    1. Go to the Adobe website.
    2. Choose ONE of the CS5 programs (even if you’re not planning to use it).
    3. That CS5 product you chose will open up in Adobe’s Download Manager BUT do NOT sign in for the download to start.
    4. Come back to prodesigntools and download the product you want to download.

Hope this helped! I was stuck in the EXACT same situation.

  15. @ Hale Reese

Both the waiting period and the proxy download worked for me. It was the OTHER problems that made me redownload twice. haha. I believe the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool procedure was the hero.

    Thanks to ProDesignTools.
