Fixed! So, I found that when the screen comes up requesting which programs you would like to install, and which you already have installed, I check marked a box at the top, which I believe installed everything, including re-installing programs which were already on my computer. Installation was successful after that! Thanks.

  3. I have been trying to install CS5.5 Design Premium now for 5 days, and to say that I am getting frustrated is an understatement!

I have trawled the net, tried everything on the help pages at Adobe.com and contacted Customer Support. All to no avail.

I get the usual Exit Code 6 along with several pages of errors. The most mystifying is the

” DW050: Failed due to Language Pack installation failure ”
    and
    ” DW065: Display requirements not met for {AC76BA86-1033-F400-7760-000000000005} ”

This is a brand new system (Dell Inspiron Q15R) that more than meets the hardware needs of the software. So I am not sure why the display requirements are not considered adequate.

Customer Service told me to change to the administrator account and attempt a reinstall, which also failed.

    I have tried the following:

-install in safe mode – failed immediately.
-re-registered microsoft installer package (as per adobe help pages)
    -disabled startup services (as per…)
-disabled firewall and AV software as recommened by adobe (yikes!)
    – used cleanscript repeatedly to remove software between each attempt

The most recent attempt saw some of the products installed, but sadly not 2 of the ones that I really want (InDesign and Flash).

I have tried to contact CS again over the phone but all I get now is 30-40 minutes of music and then get cut off.

As you can probably tell, I am seriously getting frustrated with this product and have spent a lot of my time getting angrier and angrier at the money that I have thrown at it.

I have an error log which I would happily paste on here, but I don’t think that it would be appreciated by the moderators. But here is some of it anyway:

Can anyone please help before I throw this DVD in the bin?

    Thanks
    Andrew

    • Hi Andrew, sorry to hear about your troubles. A couple of suggestions:

      1. Have you tried deleting the file/folder ‘\AUTORUN.inf’, as suggested in this Adobe Forum post? It worked in a similar situation given there – so just one possibility.

      2. If you’re installing from DVD, definitely try downloading the free trial for your same product and install that instead. The reason being, the trials will have more current updates than the software that was burned onto the disc. So, you may have better luck using that. Then, you could enter your valid purchased serial number into the trial to convert it to permanent.

      Really hope this helps!

  4. @AndrewS

Hi Andrew, a number of the errors you are getting are caused by problems accessing files in the installer. A trial download could fix the issue. Keep in mind that that trial download is the same software that is on the DVD. If you had any pre-release versions of CS5 or 5.5, make sure they are uninstalled before running the installation.

The DW065 error you are receiving indicates that your screen resolution is set before the system requirement level but this should not prevent the installation. You monitor has to be set at 1280×800 or higher in order to meet this requirement.

    I hope that information helps.

    • That’s terrific – thank you so much for assisting, David! Hopefully the trial will do the trick…

Andrew, please let us know how that went, if that’s working any better for you – thanks!

  5. @David, @ProDesign

The trial did the trick!! I had seen the suggestion to use the trial download but thought that this would be a last option, as I didn’t fancy the 24hr download.

Now all seems to be well, thank you very much. Maybe I should have come on here first instead of contacting Customer Service!

    Cheers

  7. I installed Flash Pro CS5, but when I tried to open it, it gives me a message:

“Adobe Flash CS5 has encountered a problem and needs to close.”

I cannot use it. What should I do?

  8. I’ve been trying to install Adobe Premiere PRO CS5 Family, and I’ve been getting similar results as others (Minimum system requirements are not met.) but I’ve tried their suggested solutions. I’m not installing the Trial Version. I got a serial code together with the installation in a USB from my friend. I have already transferred the files into C:\

I can’t solve these probably because I’m not so familiar with the techie terms used in forums. :D hope you could give me an easy step by step solution to this! thanks in advance!

  11. Hi out there.

I have tried to download Adobe CS5.5 Premium from the Licensing Website and it has dropped my connection with no way to get back or resume the download after around 1.7GB of size. At the speed our Internet connection is operating, that is around 1.5 – 2 hours each time – lost. Not impressed, I’m afraid. Anyone any idea what to do now? I am on Mac OSX 10.5.8. I have tried both direct downloading and using download manager!

    Kind regards
    Drew

  12. ProDesignTools :We just received the following email from Adobe – so hopefully this issue has now been fully resolved… Thank you to everyone! Thanks for the connection. Looks like Sunshine has her apps working correctly and we installed all the updates without errors.I believe the complaint at the end of the install was in response to IE being running while the Flash Player sub-installer was trying to complete. However, I’ve confirmed the most recent version is installed and working correctly. She’s got my numbers and will look out for any unexpected behaviors and contact me if she finds anything.Cheers! Matthew @ Adobe

Sorry to bring this up again, but my friend is having this problem and i just want to fully understand before I advise her on what to do. So basically what I’m asking is what is the solution to the problem [Adobe installing to 99% completed and then giving “errors”, saying to close all iexplore.exe files] in extremely plain English? Thank you so much!

    Reply
    • Hey there Jetti, the summary of that problem above was this:

Several Adobe reps confirmed the products were all fully installed and working correctly despite the warning message that came up about a browser being running…

In other words, if you or your friend ran into something similar, don’t worry about it – because you should be fine.

  13. Hello-

The Creative Suite installer asks you to close your browser at the very last step if it is open so it can install some files that are necessary. As soon as the browser is closed the installation will complete.

The easiest advice for people that might get confused by the message would be to suggest they close the browser first and then install CS.

Let me know if there are any issues and I will make sure one of our senior support folks engages and gets you or your friend up and running quickly.

To others who have posted recently with installation issues which have not been resolved by our support team…

Please feel free to send me an email with your case # from Tech Support and summary of the situation and I’ll make sure we get your issue resolved.

  15. I cannot get this install to finish or move beyond 4% to save my life. I have tried the adobe cleaner tool, followed directions step by step, done the recommended logfile check to see where my errors etc were. I even downloaded and installed the adobe scanner to check my log files and help me deduce what was going on. The 6 errors it recognized were somehow because I had a previous version of photoshop on my computer which I had already made sure I deleted prior to even trying to install…

I then got a couple of additional programs to help me uninstall as in deep cleansing – purging registry and residual components. I did this for ALL adobe files just to be safe… I plop disc 1 in again of the cs5 master collection… enter the key which I sadly have memorized by this point.. and again I’m staring at it stuck at 4%… I have tried this connected and disconnected from the net. Read every suggestion and tried it. At this point my expensive software investment is eating more of my time and money as I can’t get it to run and have a deadline to meet.

Installation Progress / Currently Installing.. ‘AdobeHelp’ 4% Total Time remaining: about 289 minutes (and continuously increasing)… any solution would be greatly appreciated before I melt down here :|

  16. PS: I know it should work as I have it on my laptop also… it loaded and installed in no time on that machine which is overall inferior to the one I can’t get it to work on. I know this isn’t an issue with licensing and such as my eula states it allows for the second install. Plus, I haven’t received a single error pop-up or dialogue box noting anything. I enter all of my info, serial key, etc and it starts and just acts like it’s falling asleep. I even investigated the state of the disc drive and made sure everything was reading okay.

  17. resolved. Hooray for Suman at tech help! If someone else gets this and it’s stuck on installing component: AdobeHelp > navigate to cs5 install > payloads > AdobeHelp and run the .air file to install. Then install the program as usual from disc/file location and it should work or at least move beyond that point :|

  18. Hi,

My client’s Mac system has licensed “InDesign CS3 pack” installed, for upgrading when I am putting in the DESIGN PREMIUM CS5 DVD, it’s getting ejected.

    Please help..

    Reply
    • Hi Deb, we’ve never heard of anything like that before… If your DVD is getting ejected, then that sounds like a problem with the computer, disc drive, or damaged media – not with the software itself.

Worst case, you can download the free trial of the CS5 product online (instead of using the DVD), and then convert it to permanent with your valid serial number.

  20. Hi, I am trying to download Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5, and I keeping getting an error in the install:

    ERROR: DW041: INSTALLDIR Volume F:\ doesn’t exist.

Does anyone know how to fix it, please??

    Reply
    • Hmm, that’s puzzling VI… Did you try installing to a different disk and directory altogether? Are you installing the product from a download or a DVD? If a download, are you trying to put it on a different disk than where the install file is stored? Might you happen to have any network drives mounted that might be causing issues? What happened when you ran the Adobe Support Advisor as described in the article above?

Just a few possibilities and questions to try to get to the bottom of the problem – hope they help.

  21. After I download the two files, I ran the setup. Once the initializing installer has completed the setup window does not popup. Any ideas?

    Reply
    • Hey there Dan – you should just be able to run File 1, double-click the .exe file – and that will typically put a new directory on your Desktop… and then there are ReadMe and Setup.exe files within that directory.

Just read the ReadMe file and/or run the Setup file and you should be set.

  22. I have a trial version of Photoshop CS5 for Windows that I would like to UNINSTALL. I go to my computer’s uninstall software, click uninstall on Photoshop and the process begins. However, somewhere shortly thereafter I get a box that tells me to close bridge.exe and firefox.exe, neither of which are open.

I can’t then uninstall this program, but want to!!

    Help?
