Once I download all three files for Design Premium (CS4, Windows), I am able to find the “Adobe” folder on my desktop, but it does not include anything other than pdf files, and more folders with pdf files/text files. Nothing within the folder is an exe file. If I try to manually run any of the three files that are downloaded (File 1 gives an error message that “file archive part…” is missing; File 2 actually runs for a while, then stops; File 3 apparently needs me to choose an application to run it), I am unsuccessful. What am I doing wrong?
I also have a serial number to use to activate.
Well Alana, it definitely sounds like you’ve got an incomplete or corrupted download on File 2, which is the most important one (the “file archive part”).
Try again with a different web browser (Chrome or Firefox are best), computer, or Internet connection (wired instead of wireless) – and then make sure all files are in put the same folder, and didn’t lose their original file extensions (which can happen with IE, it sometimes drops an “.exe”).
Then run File 1 and the “Adobe” directory that gets extracted onto your Desktop should be complete.
Hello there,
Is it legal now if I download the trial and somehow crack it to use it ?
I’ve been trying to find places where CS4 can be bought but it is very hard to find.
Can you please help me on that one ?
No, it’s never legal, besides being extremely unsafe…
Trying to buy CS4 is problematic as well, Adobe hasn’t sold it for years so there are tons of fakes out there now, hardly anything authentic anymore. You’re far more likely to get ripped off on eBay than anything else.
These CS4 direct links are more for the support of owners who need to move it between computers or recover from a system crash… Or, for use of the temporary free trials if you need to open or save an old file, etc.
When visitors come here and sometimes ask where they can buy permanent versions of CS3 or CS4, this is what we usually tell them.
If you want to buy or own Adobe’s creative tools, then go for CS6 or CC instead, which are better and newer products anyway.
Firstly thank you so much for this site, it has saved me a couple of times thanks to bad CD’s – but for some reason as the download goes, it wont get past 60% for design creative suite premium cs4… it stops at the ActiveX and will go no further. was wondering if you’ve come across this problem before.
No, that doesn’t sound a familiar issue Layna, sorry – what exact message text does it give? Try googling that and it may solve your problem…
All the links here continue to work fine BTW, no problems at all on our end.
If you’re having troubles, make sure you’re carefully following the download instructions given above in the article, and perhaps try a different browser, computer, or net connection.
please provide me the download link of adobe photoshop extended 13. i can’t find it anywhere on adobe’s website. please help me.
Sure Dave, Photoshop version 13 is the same as Photoshop CS6 – and we still have all the Creative Suite 6 Direct Download Links here.
I don’t get this Adobe Cloud thing, it says I can get the product cheaper there. But is it the same as buying the product via Adobe or reseller? By this I mean will the Cloud thing expire after the year, or is it pay for a year and then be able to keep and use the license like I could with other software, to install again as needed if when upgrade my PC hardware and hard drives and so forth?
The Adobe Cloud is mystifying, even the terms make no sense. Why not say pay X amount and is it the same as if I bought from an Adobe store.
Also why does the download keep stopping and need to pause for a few seconds then resume again. This babysitting should not be happening and is your server or Adobe at fault. I guess more yours.
Also why not allow us to use our download software to download this. No software I have tried can do so, you are most likely happy for this but we are not. I’m sure you can allow this and make sure only 8 or so connections allowed as other servers do.
Well first off, we do not host or copy or mirror these files – they are all the original CS3 & CS4 trial downloads coming direct from Adobe’s own servers… The same goes for our direct download links for Creative Suite 6, and for the new ‘CC’ release.
And yes, you should still be able to use your own download manager if you like, such as IDM, which we’ve tested fine here.
Lastly, regarding the Creative Cloud or Adobe CC – yes you can (even more) easily reinstall or move it between computers as needed – and hopefully these articles will clear up some of the rest of the confusion:
What Is the Creative Cloud and How Does It Work Compared to CS6?
The 10 Most Common Myths About Adobe’s Creative Cloud
Hope that helps.
Hello, I’ve got a little problem with downloading those files. Once I try to download this, it’s redirecting me to the Adobe website, and this appears:
Site Area Temporarily Unavailable.
We’re sorry, the site area you’ve requested is unavailable. Please try again later. In the interim, many areas of our website are still available. You may want to try one of the following links:
Adobe.com Home

Thank you for your patience.
Can somebody help me with it? I want to try After Effects so much, because Vegas is not good enough for me :(, and i won’t buy AE without trying it :C.
Sorry for my bad English!
Hey there Simon, not sure what the problem there was – perhaps a temporary outage or something – but just tested After Effects CS4 and all the links work fine now…
We’re guessing you’re interested in AE CS4 because your computer is 32-bits and wouldn’t support the 64-bit After Effects CS6 or CC?
All the links (Windows, AE CS4) just go to a blank white page! (I’ve signed in to Adobe and stopped my antivirus)
I’m actually subscribed to Adobe Creative Suite, but need a 32-bit version of AE to work on my laptop over my “vacation”!
Thx,
Newrone
As I mentioned yesterday, the links just take me to blank white pages. Followed all the instructions but can’t see what I’m doing wrong.
The comment I made yesterday doesn’t show. Should I receive a confirmation e-mail?
Hi Newrone, sorry you’re having difficulty. It’s unclear why that would happen if you’ve carefully followed the instructions, because all the download links work fine now on our end – though per the prior comment there may have been a temporary inavailability of Adobe’s servers… Have you tried again today?
If we don’t hear back, we’ll assume all is well for you now. :)
This site is awesome!!!! Except, I get an error 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp from Adobe.
Is this a Prodesigntools problem or Adobe? I have tried 2 ISPs and 3 different browsers… all with the same result.
Please, help… if you can…. Please *grovels on the ground*
Thanks for the props on the site, Jamie… If you’re having trouble downloading, please check out this previous comment for some recommendations!
Thank you so much! Worked perfectly!
Hello, I tried to download Photoshop CS4 or CS3, but when I click on the files from the table, I’m directed to a page that says:
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
Please check just above your comment Diandra, thanks.
I’m not able to download CS4 file 1. Can you help me?
Please give more details Brandie, or see our reply above.
I cannot find a usable link to download the Adobe CS 5.5 regular or Extended version. And would the same product key code work for either version?
Every link on your site that says download the CS 5.5 leads me to an Adobe site that has no offer of the CS 5.5, it just says Creative Cloud. Where can I get a direct link to download CS 5.5?
Greetings Jack, the product key is different for each version. On this page you will find the links only for the old CS3 and CS4 releases. If you want a newer version, see all our Adobe CS direct links, and make sure to carefully follow the download instructions where ever you go.
I am trying to download the trial of Design Premium CS4 so I can put my serial number in and get it working on my new computer, but when I click on it I am brought to a http error page. I have my install discs but my new computer has no disk drive.
I tried moving the CD files to a hard drive to get them on the new computer, but when the installation asked me to insert the second CD it doesn’t work even though both CD’s info is on the hard drive. I think something is somehow missing from my second CD. It only has “extensions” and “payloads” folders in it.
Well Paige you should be able to use these CS4 direct links instead of the DVD disc files, just make sure you follow the download instructions we give in the article or it won’t work.
Why isn’t the CS4 Design Premium file for Mac working? When I double-click the .dmg file, I receive a “Not recognised” error. I need the English version because I’ve got my key for it. The Western Europe one works but not the English one.
Hey Tristan, the links here all still work fine… For a “not recognized” message with a Mac DMG file, please see this previous discussion.
i had quite a bit of trouble even opening up the first link in the instructions. i had been using firefox. i tried chrome and it worked immediately with no trouble.
i was just getting an empty white page when clicking the first link.
hopefully someone else stuck may find switching from firefox helpful.
thank you very much for posting these; without them i don’t know how adobe expects people to switch computers.
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
The above is what comes up when selecting CS3 Design Standard FILE 1 & 2 for Windows.
Any other helpful suggestions to where I can find a download? I have my original serial key but no disks.
Hi Phillip, be careful as there are not many safe places to download these from, really… You only want the direct download links (DDL) from Adobe’s servers, as we offer on this page and our site generally.
If you’re having trouble downloading here, then make sure you are following the instructions given in the article above (they are critical for success), or check out this previous comment for some recommendations.
I was able to download it, but I had to uncheck adobe flash… just in case anyone else runs into the problem, this is adobe’s problem and not this site – thanks again!
Hi I’ve just tried downloading Web Standard and get this error:
HTTP ERROR: 404 /support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
RequestURI=/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp
I would love help finding out how to download it.
Sure Sarah, you’ll find that help in the reply just above your comment.
The links seem to be out of date, I downloaded CS4 but I didn’t get CS4.
Can anyone recommend where I can get the install files from.
Ditto. See response to Phillip above.
(The links are all fine actually.)
When I download file 2 for CS4 Design premium, it comes in as a .txt file not a .7z file. I have 7-Zip from a previous download. I still get the message:
“The file archive part of Adobe CS4 Design Premium is missing.”
The ADBESTDSCS4_LS1.txt file is in the same folder as the exe file.
Hello Jeff, it sounds like your browser may have dropped the file extension when downloading, which happens sometimes – especially if you were using Internet Explorer…
On Windows, most downloads have two files – a (small) .EXE file and a (large) .7Z file. So if one of your extensions was lost, then just rename the proper file to add it back, and then run or double-click the executable to get started for the installation.
Downloaded file 2 again for CS4 Design Premium. Came in as .txt file again exactly the same size.. (Used Chrome both times.) On a whim, changed extension from .txt to .7z … File extracted and installed perfectly.
Great, glad to hear it Jeff – and thanks for circling back here to let us know it all worked.
Hey,
So I need CS4 as a trial version including Premiere and After Effects. AE is not that important, though.
Can I just download Premiere or do I need a complete CS4 version?
And this will work on a 32-bit Win7, will it?
Welcome Jens, you can download any of the free trials above – either suites or individual tools – and they will work standalone and fully-functioning for 30 days.
CS4 is the last version of Creative Suite where Premiere Pro and After Effects will run on 32-bit systems… Since CS5 came out, Premiere and AE require 64-bit systems.
For the rest of your question, please see this help guide:
Can You Run Microsoft Windows 7 with Adobe CS4 or CS3 Software?
@ProDesignTools
Has anyone actually tried these links, they seem to be outdated and don’t work.
Yes, all of these links still work fine – we check them virtually every day… All you need for success is following the simple download instructions near the top of this page.
Thanks for the quick response
I have followed the instructions but can only get far as downloading the first file, when I try install the second file I get the “Waiting for prodesigntools.com”
Tried this on a number of machines same issue
Can you assist?
Not sure, in four years of doing this, no one here has heard of that message before… Are you blocking anything with your browser, cookies, sites, links, filters, antivirus, etc?
Try with a different web browser or perhaps Internet connection, avoid Wi-Fi, make sure your wired line is strong and fast as these can be large files.
We just clicked through on five of the CS3 & CS4 links above, and they all fly and download no problem.
