I have had problems downloading the trial version of CS6 for a class I am taking. I had both file 1 and 2 downloaded but they wouldn’t open and I did try it several times. Now, I still have file 1 but it is telling me access denied for file 2. I have to get this trial version or my class is in jeopardy. Please help!
thanks
Hi Kirsten, make sure you are carefully following the step-by-step download instructions given in the article above (near the top of this page) and you should be fine… Usually people get ‘access denied’ if they don’t follow those directions.
Then if you still have any difficulties, try a different web browser (like Chrome or Firefox), another computer, or different Internet connection… Avoid Wi-Fi as it can be slow and unreliable; you are better off to use a fast wired connection (with a cable).
Lastly, we put together this list of download suggestions you can go through if you get stuck.
Hope this helps!
When trying to download step #2, I keep getting this error message:
“Sorry, an error has occured. This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance.”
What is the problem?
Sorry you’re having difficulties Ann… This Adobe Forum thread may help provide a solution:
Getting an Adobe Installer Mis-configured Error Message – How to Solve?
If that doesn’t work for you, then you might try some of the tips we recommended to Kirsten just above, like trying to download the CS6 software using a different browser, etc.
We have to buy Adobe InDesign CS6 Standard and get the license, but there is one PC that must run the Adobe InDesign CS3 version, so how to use our CS6 license with CS3 instead?
Thanks
Hey there Antoni, do you mean to ask if you can “downgrade” a CS6 application to an earlier release of Creative Suite, like CS3?
Sorry to say that you can’t do that. When you buy it you get the current version only – except for members of Creative Cloud, who get both CS6 plus the new “CC” release.
Regrettably, there is no good way to buy old versions of Adobe software… Trying to find something like that on eBay is extremely unsafe, since Adobe stopped making it years ago there’s almost nothing but fraudulent fakes.
Why do you still need CS3 anyway? CS6 or CC will open CS3 projects and files.
When I click on a link for Photoshop CS6 the following error pops up:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/PHSP/13/win32/Photoshop_13_LS16.exe” on this server.

I am currently not sure what to do.
Hello Garrett, please see our response to Kirsten, the first comment just above.
I downloaded the Photoshop CS6 for a class. I am unable to run the .exe file following the instructions on the webpage. I have the following files/folders that downloaded into a single folder:
7z.exe
7z.dll
mimetype
DownloadAssistant.swf
app_icons folder
META-INF folder
Adobe Download Assistant.exe
When I doubleclick the 7z.exe, a window opens and closes quickly and I can’t read it. When I try Open, it does the same. When I doubleclick the Adobe Download Assistant.exe, I don’t have the option of CS6, only Elements.
Please provide some info – I need to get this trial for my class. Thank you.
Not sure Kat, completely and totally puzzled by your message… What is a 7z.exe? Why is there an Adobe Download Assistant .swf? What is Elements doing there? Sorry to say we don’t understand any of it.
Please see this earlier comment for some guidance on how to get this done.
Hi, I have downloaded the Photoshop CS6 File 1 and File 2, but when I open file 1 it says: “The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop CS6 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop CS6. Please download all parts.”
What do I do?
Greetings Dylan, please see these previous comments on why you might be getting that message, and how to solve it.
I already have the Dreamweaver CS6 full version. If I download the trial version here, will it overwrite my full version? Do I need to download the trial version to take the CS6 course, or can I use what I already have?
Welcome Renee, thanks for your questions. For any CS6 tool, the trial version and the full version are actually the same – the only difference is the first runs for 30 days, whereas the second runs permanently.
So no, if you already have a full version installed on a computer, then you wouldn’t (or couldn’t) try to install the trial version also on the same system… One will not overwrite the other, it’s simply that the installation will not proceed.
If you need a new trial version for any machine, and/or have already used the CS6 trial, then just download and run the all-new CC free trials instead…
Everyone gets a brand new trial period with those, and can run them on the same computer as CS6. And if you need additional time after the month is up with CC, then it’s simple enough just to grab a monthly subscription for however long you need.
Hello, I am taking an online course with a company that is using Adobe. I have one year to follow their Photoshop and DSLR courses. Is there any way I can save these courses past the expiry date?
Hi Sue, not that we know of, sorry… However, feel free to take advantage of these extensive and free CS6 learning resources which never expire:

Do you know how to uninstall Photoshop CC? If so how? Thanks
Yes, it will be on your ‘Uninstall Programs’ screen in Windows, just select it from there.
You can also use the Adobe Cleaner Tool if you want.
This is true for any Adobe application, whether a free trial or not.
it’s multilanguage?
Yes, the CS6 ‘European’ versions included in the links table above have Portuguese, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Scandinavian languages, etc.
With the new Adobe CC it’s a little different now, all of the languages worldwide are included in a single download.
FYI. When downloading the files for Photoshop CS6 the File 1 does NOT download with an extension. Both my husband and I downloaded it on two different computers. We had to ADD the .exe extension to the file to get it to work.
Yes, sometimes that happens – especially when using Internet Explorer, which we don’t recommend above…
Thanks for taking the initiative to figure it out and post.
Is it possible to download the free trial without disabling the firewall and antivirus software? My husband is not comfortable with opening up our computer like that to the internet.
Sure, you can try Jackie. We’re just reiterating what Adobe recommends when downloading – so if it doesn’t work one way, then try the other… it can’t do any harm, it just might not succeed.

What is this Problem?
I can’t download software from your website.
Please give the solution.
Well, generally speaking the solution is to carefully follow the download directions given in the article above, near the top of this page.
Hello,
I am having issues with the trial download of Photoshop CS6. I’ve followed the instructions…downloaded the files, and they will not open/run! The first file (.exe file) is not showing up as an exe file when I download it (I am not a computer guru, so if the .exe file is the same as a regular file please excuse this comment). When I click on the 7z file (*file 2) it gives me an error message that says “the reader cannot open the file because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged.” When I attempt to open “file 1” I get the same error message. What am I doing wrong? Please help! (I have a Windows operating system). Thanks in advance!
As soon as I submitted my question I read the comments above. I saw the one user mentioned to manually add .exe to the file. Once I did that I thought I fixed the program. (thank you!). It did change the file, but now when I click on it to open it ..it asks me to run the program, so I did….once it was complete nothing happened! It kept asking me to re-run it as soon as it finished running…. I also noticed I have a PDF file (in the folder) with a language I do not recognize…..that was dated with today’s date for modification. I think I am getting closer?
Right Jessica – on Windows, File 1 should be a small executable (ends with “.exe”) that will unpack the large File 2 archive (ends with “.7z”) into a new ‘Adobe’ folder that it creates on your Desktop…
If the first file does not have a “.exe” extension then your browser probably dropped it when downloading, which often happens when using Internet Explorer. If so, just rename it to add back the “.exe” at the end.
Afterwards then, within the new Adobe folder created on your desktop, you run the set-up.exe file to actually install the CS6 application(s) you selected.
I am also taking online classes and I need CS6, Flash and Dreamweaver – I downloaded Dreamweaver just a few minutes ago and it will not open up… what program do I need to open these files?
I am very frustrated… since it is downloaded does that start the 30 days? I don’t really want to lose any time. THANKS for your help!!!
Susan in Memphis TN
Hello Susan, please see our previous response, right above yours.
But not to worry – the CS6 free trial does not start when you download, or even when you install – the 30 calendar days starts only when you first run the software.
When you say both downloaded files in the same location, you mean on the computer? Or like in the download folder?
In the same folder or directory.
I need to redownload the free trial of photoshop because the 30-day trial expired on another machine… i didn’t have problems doing this before but you’ve changed the site or the way to download apparently. now when i click the link it just opens to a page that says access denied. why is it denied and how can i dl the free trial? and please don’t send me the link to the download instructions. i already read all these comments and i know about the dl instructions…. but there is no actual solution posted about this yet. what do i do?
Hey there Nicola, nothing has changed at all – everything remains the same as it was… There is no ongoing problem or solution needed. All the CS6 direct links here still work fine, and we just tested them once again.
Have you read the list of tips to follow? See in particular #5, which may be what you’re running into.
When I am downloading file #2 for the illustrator cs6, it says there’s a download error. What do I do?
I have followed all the instructions and I am downloading Illustrator CS6, my download however seems to be stuck (the download hasn’t moved for the last 15 minutes).
Is there any solution to this?
Hey, I tried to download the master collection trial but it just gave me a link saying access denied.
@Jordan, @Damien, @Greg –
Hi, for help see our response just above to Kirsten.
I have download file 1 and 2 of the Photoshop CS6, and when I try to open it says the file archive part of Adobe Photoshop is missing!?! I have deleted everything and redid it. Why is this so complicated? Please help asap
Sorry you’re having difficulties Brigitte – do you mean this message?
Am interested in learning photoshop. Kindly allow me to download photoshop cs6. It is a good product.
Feel free Kaushal! Just make sure to carefully follow the important download instructions we give in the article.
When I try to download any file, I keep getting this error message:
Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “…/AdobeProducts/DRWV/12/win32/Dreamweaver_12_LS16.exe” on this server.

Ditto to previous reply.
‘instructions’ as furnished don’t work.
Just CREATE (or log in) to an Adobe account. Then go to this page:
https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/buying-guide-version-comparison.html
go to the upper right side of the page and “try” or “buy” Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 by selecting the appropriate link.
You will need Mac OS 10.7 or later to download, otherwise the site will block it.
Thanks, but the download instructions here work fine – and have since spring of last year when CS6 came out…
But if you’ve found another way to do it, then that’s fine as well.
