I downloaded the Master Collection for Mac. When trying to initialize the installer I get this message:
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.

Yes, thanks. I am on a Mac logged in as the admin user but still get the message. I don’t quite understand the technical language in the forum however. Do I need the Adobe Application Manager or Support Advisor? Or is there a way I can just get the installer to work and install as a trial version?
Try first removing any installed applications, running the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool, rebooting your computer, and then running again the CS6 trial version installer that you downloaded above.
If it still doesn’t work, then try installing the Adobe Support Advisor and see what that tells you. Or download the Adobe Application Manager as suggested and linked in that help forum, although technically it should be possible to install the CS6 software here without it.
I followed the instructions. When I was downloading photoshop and illustrator, it worked at Adobe Download Assistant. But now, as I try to download Master Collection, there in no icon on the Download Assistant explorer. And the file that I was downloading to desktop is not opened by any programs.

OK, that’s good – in your case, it sounds like your browser may have dropped the file extension when downloading, because your computer says it doesn’t know how to open the file… So here’s the solution for that.

Welcome Deveron, what’s included in the Extra Content for Creative Suite is listed in the article above and depends on the application… As mentioned above, it’s not required but is nice to have – and free.
I mean could you describe the contents of the different addon packages.
Like you did with the “Adobe Audition Content Download Extras.”
What is in the Illustrator extras? Fonts? Extra stock vector resources?
Both Illustrator’s and InDesign’s extra content is fonts in multiple languages, and the other tools are as listed.
Dear whomever it may concern,
I have a product license for Adobe CS6. I do not have the original installation media, and was hoping to download the free trial of the software in order to activate it. I have looked at the Adobe website to download the software, however it is not available. I have looked in their help section, and ProDesignTools was recommended as it had full trials of previous Adobe Software.
I have attempted to download the software, however the message that comes up says that I do not have access to the server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry in advance for the long-winded email, reason is that I am absolutely new to all this and feel lost and frustrated. I redeemed a groupon voucher for Photo Art Studio to learn/understand Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash and Photography.
I have followed the instructions on downloading and installing Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended files and this is what I have so far:
When I clicked on the download button, this is what I received: Downloaded and Installed – Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
Downloaded and Installed – AdobeDownloadAssistant.exe
Photoshop.zip (which looks like it has the files needed for the tutorials)
Photoshop_13_LS16 (originally it downloaded as is, when reading comments, you suggested to add the .exe, which I did and it added the extension, however when I tried to run the file, it states ‘THE FILE ARCHIVE PART OF ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6 IS MISSING. YOU NEED ALL PARTS IN THE SAME FOLDER IN ORDER TO EXTGRACE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6. PLEASE DOWNLOAD ALL PARTS.)
I tried to click on the files again (listed above) and now it states ‘ACCESS DENIED’ I don’t have permission…

Also, I’m not sure how/where to open up the files to begin the tutorial exercises (in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro or Adobe Download Assistant)?
Again, I am totally ‘green’ on this application/software so any guidance/reference to help me download the proper files and software is much appreciated.

Hey EAM, sorry you’re having difficulties. It seems you might have missed a step in the download instructions, step #3.
You don’t necessarily need Acrobat XI but just have to visit that page to set Adobe’s session cookie on your web browser, which enables all the CS6 direct download links above to work.
You also don’t want to download or use the Adobe Download Assistant – a major advantage of these links is being able to access the free CS6 trials here without having to use the ADA.
So to make a long story short, try following the directions again very carefully from the top!
For Photoshop in particular (on Windows), you’ll need two files from the table – just put both files in the same folder and then double-click the .exe to get started. That will create a new Adobe folder on your desktop that contains the set-up executable that you run to actually install the program.

I have just downloaded the CS6 Master Collection following step by step, and I have both parts in the same place, but when I’ running the .exe there an error that says (in Spanish)
“Falta el archivado de archio parte de CS6 master collection. Necesita todas las partes en la misma carpeta para extraer master collection”
It’s like there is a missing part that I have to download, but there are only two files in the DDL. Would be very grateful if someone could help me with this issue. Thank you for the post.

I have downloaded Photoshop CS6 (Extended) and successfully installed it. I checked the folder Plug-ins of both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions and saw that there was nothing in them, except the empty folder Panels. I downloaded Sharpener-Pro from the Google NIK Collection and installed the Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CS6 (64-bit) versions using the provided Nik Collection setup, with the result that the plug-ins were written in the folder Plug-ins. When I tried to use both Photoshop versions, they did not work any more. I did re-install both Photoshops but probably it would have been sufficient to remove the installed plug-ins.
Changing my approach, I decided to install Adobe Exchange. Using that extension, I saw immediately that the number of extensions/plugins which can be used in Photoshop CS6 is significantly less then I would have expected. I successfully installed the plugin Fotolia, but it appeared as an extension.
Is it still possible to use Plug-ins as in the past, or has Adobe Exchange to be used to filter out the Photoshop CS6 extensions/plugins?
Greetings Huub, the first step is to make sure you’re matching the correct version, architecture, and operating system for both the plugin and Photoshop. But if you’re having issues with the plugins generally, have you checked the Photoshop CS6 Plug-in Troubleshooting Page?

I succeeded in successfully loading additional plug-ins with CS6. The strange thing is that I can not find them in the different menus.
Can you tell how I can see them?
You mean you don’t see them in your Filters menu? Normally it should happen automatically. Have you shut all Photoshop applications and restarted?
Also make sure you’ve got the correct settings in the “Plug-Ins” section of Photoshop’s Edit > Preferences menu.

Using the Edit > Preferences menu I now point to this folder as additional Plug-ins folder. Still I do not see anything new under Filters, but perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

I have been having issues downloading CS6 also – I have been trying since AUGUST!!! and I am ready to scream.. EVERY DAY I am trying to download all 4 PROGRAMS. I have installed and uninstalled – I also have “cleaned” programs –
THIS is HORRRRRRIBLE! I can not find any of the downloads – and when I first download it – it will NOT open! I am beyond frustrated!

There should be no reason why you can’t download CS6 from this page, and if you’re having trouble installing it then just post the exact message you’re getting.
I have… I have done everything the INSTRUCTIONS have said. I have been dealing with this since AUGUST! I posted in other comments what message I am getting.
This is my THIRD (3RD!!!) comment that I have started on here – I have replied to other people’s comments and DONE everything … that’s why I am BEYOND frustrated!
Well, from reviewing your previous messages, it sounds like your system doesn’t know “how to open” the downloaded files…
Which means the extension to one of your files went missing. That sometimes happens, especially when using the Internet Explorer browser.
In such a case, you would have to add back a file extension that may have been lost while downloading.
On Windows, you’ll usually have both a “.exe” file and a “.7z” file that you should put in the same folder on your computer.
Then, when you run (double-click) the .exe it will extract installation files into a new Adobe folder typically on your Desktop… and there should be ReadMe and Setup.exe files within that directory.
Just read the ReadMe file and/or run the Setup file and you should be set – that will install the CS6 program onto your system.
Or, if all of this sounds like too much – then Adobe made the installation process a lot easier with the Creative Cloud and the new CC versions of the tools (replacing CS6)… So we’d suggest to just take that route instead.
I followed the instructions above but I still saw the access denied. Please what do i do?
Hi Dayo, normally that shouldn’t happen but as suggested above, try using a different browser, computer, or network connection.
I just tried Internet Explorer now (then I used Google chrome) and used a Cable connection instead of the wi-fi that I am using, but it is still the same.
I have the installation copy of Adobe CS4 Master Collection, can I buy the product key for CS6 and upgrade to CS6?

Well it sounds like you have had a canceled or aborted download, in which case you may be temporarily locked out of Adobe’s servers… It happens sometimes. The best thing to do now is wait a little while – see #5 on this list of suggestions. There is no other (safe and legal) way to get these genuine download links.
It is possible to still buy the traditional/perpetual CS6 version direct from Adobe, but to upgrade from CS4 to CS6 is too far of a jump… Only upgrades from CS5 or CS5.5 can get the big price discount.
However, it is still possible to upgrade from CS3 or CS4 to the new Adobe CC release, instead of CS6.

Sure Jaimin, it’s right here on this page (last year’s CS6 version) – or you can download the latest release with our CC direct links…
In either case, you have to follow the step-by-step directions in the article or it won’t work for you.
Hi I have just download the adobe premiere cs6 trial on mac, but when i open the file it says ‘the following disk image couldn’t be opened.’ I have followed the instructions on the website on how to download the software, and i have tried downloading it multiple times but the same error comes up.

Open your Applications folder, then Utilities. Open Disk Utility, select your hard drive, and click Repair Disk Permissions.

My wife is doing an online photography class and they said to download the free trial of photoshop cs6 extended. I tried following the instructions on the website but it’s not working.
I have a windows computer and English version. The instructions say to open the exe file but the first file doesn’t have any file type assigned to it and get the message to search the internet to open it.

You can also use the newer/latest version of Photoshop, called Photoshop CC… This replaces Photoshop CS6, and there is also a free trial available.

We downloaded the English version for a Russian colleague. He tried to install it on a PC with a German Windows 7 and in the language selection there were just a few European languages to select, including German, but not English. Seems like this was actually the Western Europe we got. And no, we did not select the wrong files. Could it be that English and Western Europe version are swapped?
