  1. I’m currently subscribed to the single app version of PS – can I migrate to the photography program at the lower price and get LR too?

Our apples are anyway more expensive…

In Sweden we have the high 25% VAT, so the price should be the equivalent of $12.50 in Sweden. So I wonder why Adobe are using 50% VAT, that seems a bit steep…

    • Hey Tommy, in Europe it should be around €12 per month including the applicable tax/VAT, with some variation in each country…

In the US the sales taxes are less, up to 10% depending on the state.

The thing is that the price is $9,99 + VAT in USA and around $12,05 + 23% VAT in Europe, so it’s not that higher VAT in Ireland (all customers in Europe pays Irish VAT when it comes to Adobe) that is the main “problem” but the unequal pricing.

  4. This promotion is terrific for everyone, but is the original Photography Plan offer still going to be available for people who have Photoshop CS3-CS6 and want to sign up later, by December 31?

Or have they merged and does the PS+LR deal generally end on December 2 now for all customers?

    Reply
    • Hello Francis, that’s a great question. The answer is that this new promotion is layered on top of the first offer, whose deadline remains unchanged…

In other words, the originally-announced Photoshop Photography Program will continue to be open for new subscribers until December 31, 2013 (as originally stated), with eligibility for those who currently have PS CS3 and higher.

In the meantime, until December 2nd, everyone qualifies to sign up.

  5. So they have also said the same about “the ongoing price” in the original offer that ends on December 31?

“Adobe says this is the ongoing price for anyone who signs up by 9am PT December 2, 2013. So if you join in November 2013, then if/when you renew in November 2014, the price will still be $9.99 per month. They do not have plans to change this price.”

  6. What if I am a current subscriber to the full cloud on the 19.99 plan (or 29.99 offer), plus I have a promo code to get the full cloud free next year for attending Photoshop World? Can I sign up for the 9.99 PS+LR now to start in my third year of the cloud?

    Reply
    • Welcome Shelley, that’s a good question. As far as we know, to take advantage of promotion, your PS+LR subscription would have to begin during this limited-time period for sign-up, and likely couldn’t be deferred… But you can contact Adobe to double-check about that and be sure. If you do, please let us know what they say.

PS – We’d also suggest checking the dates on that free year of CC that you got from attending Photoshop World, as it may possibly have a use-by expiration.

  7. Wait, am I missing something here? I was a single app subscriber since July and in September I received an email from Adobe saying that LR was added to my membership at no cost and from that time the $9.99 monthly cost was no longer for the first year only.

So what else is in this “great deal” that single-app subscribers haven’t had already? I think I had the Behance and storage too from the beginning…
    Thanks.

    • Nope, there’s nothing new for you personally Olga since your previous plan automatically switched over to this one in September when the Photoshop Photography Program was first announced

What’s new here with this offer is that anyone can sign up now, without needing to have any prior version of Photoshop in order to get the bundle and ongoing low price.

But for you, you’ve already got it since Adobe automatically switched over your previous membership two months ago.

  8. hello, i have the photoshop single app from July at £17 – can i subscribe now and have your offer to continue after my present one is finished please, of course not paying till after my current deal is done.

  9. Hi, my client still only has Photoshop CS6. To match that exactly, can I also (or instead) get Photoshop CS6 with this offer, if that’s what I want or need?

    Thx!

    • Yes Steph, definitely. All CC members (at any level) have full access to both the CC and CS6 versions of the applications, including Photoshop here…

So you can download, install, and use one version or the other, or even both if you want. You can run these on the same computer or on up to two of your systems.

But as mentioned in the comments above, your client should still be able to open your CC .PSD files even with CS6, or of course you can save in another image or document format (like TIF, PNG, JPG, or PDF).

You can also upload your PSD file(s) to the Creative Cloud and share it that way online – and it will be available for viewing, manipulation, download, and commenting (either privately or publically per your choice)… It’s a very cool way to collaborate:

  10. Is it correctly understood that having an educational CS6 gives me the “right” to wait until Dec 31st and I don’t have to order before Dec 2nd?

    Reply
    • No, that’s not right. Education users and suite customers did not qualify under the previous (and future) terms. The same goes for Lightroom-only or Elements customers. You only are eligible now! (everyone qualifies until Dec. 2nd)

Why would you want to wait though in any event? Not sure why anybody would wait if they’re going to get the offer anyway.

    • Well, is getting this PS+LR package deal with the permanently-lower pricing still worth it to you, even though you wouldn’t be using it for a few weeks? It’s only $10 – otherwise it looks like you’d miss it based on what you said.

  11. It’s worth the $15/month it cost (not US$10 where I am), but if I had been able to use the original deal and save that $15 it would have been even better.

And there’s actually no promise that this price will be permanent after one year, just that they at the moment haven’t planned to raise the price…

    • There are few guarantees in life – especially about prices from any company – but Adobe has been clear that this is the normal, regular price of this program, and not an introductory rate.

Prices of anything can always go up (or down) by modest amounts, being subject to inflation and other forces – but based on what the company says, it’s virtually certain in this case that the price will be the same one year from now, and likely beyond.

  12. monthly? so in few years I’ll be paying few hundred of $ and I still have to keep paying, in 10 years I’ll be paying way more than just purchasing it like before. I’m not clear about the cost, monthly.

    Reply
    • Well in ten years from now, any static traditional software purchase you made today would probably no longer run or be supported on the systems that will be available then.

What’s more, 9 years of subscription at the price of this offering actually costs less than perpetual licenses (Photoshop CS6 Extended + Lightroom 5 = $1,148) – plus with this bundle, you are guaranteed free upgrades with all the new releases, ongoing feature updates, and support for the life of your membership. Additionally, you get the included online storage and exclusive training, and a free Behance Prosite (which is normally $100/year by itself)… It’s an incredible deal.

  13. I have the trial version of Photoshop CC. When I download this for the $9.99 a month, will I still be following the download instructions. If I wanted the DVD would that cost extra?

    Thank you,
    Jan
